In spite of this guy's remonstrations that the establishment did not collude with loyalists, citing proof as being their jailing a number of them. This was done rather ,as a matter of seeding the ranks of the UVF and UDA with the relevant agents and assets, removing those who did not meet the requirements, which had the added bonus of appearing to be equally subject to the rule of law as republicans.
I know of one. Only because he is a neighbour of mine. He admitted his part in killings. He went on to serve a lengthy prison sentence and has since become a cross community worker with kids, as well as helping the old folks in the community. When you speak about loyalist paramilitaries matching there enemies with tactics and even strength of power of the bombs is highlighted in the film about a British. soldier being sent to Northern Ireland during the troubles. The film is called "71" in my opinion its an excellent film . There's a part in the film where loyalist paramilitary unit is having a meeting upstairs in a pub with an undercover British military intelligence officer and he carefully gives them a bomb and says to the loyalists "right we took this off the enemy the ira they were going to use it on you but you blow them up using this bomb and it will show the enemy that you can and will match them with what ever they got knife for knife gun for gun bomb for bomb etc" those weren't his exact words but they where words to that effect please allow me to exercise my artistic license lol "im a peacock captain you gotta let me fly" Also to add to what you said about people may class the I.N.L.A as the dregs of society and too psychopathic for the PROVISIONAL I.R.A. There's a series on ITVX called LOVE/HATE about the goings on in the republic of Irelands criminal underworld the drugs gangs of Ireland. Later in the series i believe a paramilitary group is involved in the story line they ask to have firearms come in on the same shipment as the criminals cocaine and heroin shipments to which they have to agree if not they probably be shot .I think the paramilitary group may of been the INLA i will have to watch it all again to check and see if not the I.n.l.a. then defo its the provisional I.r.a. Its a very interesting series. Whoever reads my comment i have given you two great things to watch firstly the film about the troubles in northern Ireland and a British soldier called "71" Secondly a series on itvx called Love/Hate about rep of Irelands Drug gangs the underworld, guns, drugs and prostitution with a splash of paramilitaryism and helpings of betrayal. True, some recruits into Loyalist paramilitaries tend have dual membership or membership in multiple factions. It can also be on a tier basis from YCVs for several years into the UVF usually in their twenties or late teens and those selected after into the Protestant Action Force and other discrete Ulster offshoots.
@@MJ-ru9iw There appears to be a slight communication issue in this regard. Simultaneous membership of both proscribed and legitimate or official organisations of the British state. eg UVF and UDR , although more often than not ,upon being compromised, usually by some fluke or freak occurrence, immediately resigned hence as can be verified , EX UDR and would then frequently be subject to all the ,leniency, that the British judiciary could bring to bear. Rather than the fact of their being held to a higher standard, their duplicity was actually cited as mitigation.
