should put that on a tshirt.. loved it when he said " Go cry over someone else's tragedy, because we're alive and thriveing" indigenous Americans Alive and Thriving
Thank you, 1491! You've provided me with hours of entertainment, especially during the pandemic. I came to your channel through Patrick Willie, the hoop dancer and vlogger. You bring joy. Thank you!
I'm a fan from Spain(europe) and I love their humor! I understand everything they do, and their humor is their best weapon against all the negative things, not only for natives also for non native people like me. by the way I would like to have a 1491s T shirt haha.
I'm a Native American and I thank you for your comment. I hope you have had 8 years of prosperity. The Native American culture is alive. We thrive in the face of adversity.
Humour is such a great tool for bonding, for healing, for empowerment- and laughter is so therapeutic! Humour can present the truth in sharp ways that gets under a person’s tough skin, helping to open eyes. THANK YOU!! ✌🏽
I discovered America yesterday. 1491s made me laugh readily and easily with a humor that resonates. Now I am here and as an educator I am so impressed. "We have a forum and we are going to use it!" Aho!
I love the speech one indian person gave: he said that we all are native because we have been not long ago and we are doing best if we rediscover our roots; our sense of belonging to the indigenous mankind. Not long ago we all were involved with life on a deep, native and intrinsic level! That gives me hope because I have hardly learned any identity in my growing up (I am german). I am a woman and I can feel the earth vibrating through me if I listen closely.
Bobby has a Sinatra-esque style. The two together really have some fun shtick. Heavy subjects easier with a bit of humor. Sometimes one has to laugh, be silly, to keep from crying...Those who don't "get" their humor don't get it mostly because there's indigenous cultural twist to it...not the regular white industrial culture humor.
For most of my life I had people say you can't be an Indian, you look white. This of course came from white people. Yes I am part white (Irish and German ancestry) yet I am also Choctaw and Cherokee. I have the features, but not the "skin color". So because my skin is not a certain color, people think I cannot be a Indian. It's crazy because a Indain can look at me and say, so what Nation are you, but a white person asks what country is your ancestors from. With your videos, you have helped me say watch 1491's you tube channel and you will see someone like me white on the inside but Indian on the inside. I also have learned to stop caring so much about what people see me as, though it helps that my husband whom is Seminole looks Seminole skin color and all lol.
You have to understand the way that Papa God Made You Is Beautiful. Coming from a multi-race background you get all kinds of different things said to you. Some white people are very insecure because they don't want you to know your own self because they want you to be assimilated into their race....as usual. I look at it this way, it took me a very long time to find out who I was. It is all good because Papa God made me beautiful human and do not care what people think.
I know you noticed that Ryan Redcorn from the 1491s is Osage, and largely "white." His brother Alex works for KU. I was unsure about my place and about enrollment until I noticed Ryan and his brothers. And it is all about intention. The right reasons. If a white passing native only wants to affiliate so they can get paid, I would say that is not the right reason, or the right way. Affiliation with the Cherokee Nation for me is because I wish to honor the committment the nation made when it adopted my Shawnee, or Shawanooki, Great Grandfather and his siblings into the Cherokee Nation after having been displaced. So I wish to honor that, and work for the good of all, especially my native/indigenous cousins here on Turtle Island, and the rest of the world.
Thank you guys for representing us native americans as people ...Real People not victims or a hollywood image . I'm am still Native American when I'm not wearing my Traditional Dress which I have not worn for a long time because I feel like I'm just putting on a show for the white man and like like a puppet for the Indians and it takes something for me so I don't even wear my beautiful buckskin dress because I feel like how I was already been just something for the white people it's not about our culture it's not about our of being who we are it's about them being entertained
Once you teach everyone every race about how everyone is indoctrinated by media then you can make a change to your behaviour. As a sober observer also a woman single mom you see the correlation between people’s behaviour and what’s happening in the media, what is shows. Like I realized I was not going to play the part of the “drunk Indian”. Drunks in every race are capable of great violence. I chose at a young age not to drink the genocide drink, i don’t lord over anyone because of my sobriety though. Our people are people who were given a raw deal and had our lands, resources and territories squandered by the genocide beneficiaries. I would go on but I’m a busy mom grandmother ❤
I met you guys in Ashland ...you put on Between two knees ....lol ...that was an open heart surgery for me ... You guys are medicine ...good God medicine ....keep laughing ...all my love and prayers ...
You guys need to tighten up your presentation skills in order to better connect with audiences not familiar with the 1491s. I'm not saying that to be negative I'm saying it because I think it's true and I'd like to see you all keep growing and succeeding.

The audience has no clue how funny they are.
Maybe it's a takes one to no one kind of thing
They are presenting in raw form and I greatly respect these men for that.
I'm a fan from Spain(europe) and I love their humor! I understand everything they do, and their humor is their best weapon against all the negative things, not only for natives also for non native people like me. by the way I would like to have a 1491s T shirt haha.

Leslie Sauceman I embrace your love of my fellow people. The more non Indians whom watch and embrace what they do and say, helps a lot.

Was that Dallas at the end of the Represents clip? 😂🤣 ..or was it William Knife Man. 😆

You freaking people. Hahaha.
These guys are hilarious.
I loved the videos, but I wish you guys were more prepared for your presentation. #LetDown
Yes, I agree.
..so we know bobby, who is the other guy, seems his intro was " Outshown"
the colonial oppressor needs to be saved by indians
but what is the other guys name?!
“...from America.” 🤣😂😂
🌈🌈🌈💚💚💚
Brother sing us a song…
I'd say they're nice guys who live in a weird social environment.
Love those guys but I did find them to be slightly belittling to the Canadian crowd🐒
Don’t say Pow Wow. Say Ceremony words matter
Bobby is yummy... white girl love you....
Lol
LOLOL
That was not funny at all.
Painful to watch after a minute. Stop trying to be big budget comedians and just be natives. Scripts are good but be like the Marines, improvise.
I spoke out of my @$$. Routine up to 2:08, flat. Everything afterward! Great!!!!!
I learned of you through the University of Alberta
Keep it going guys
