    NB in one of my favorite Boston brands. They really stepped up their FC rotation: Rebel v4, SC Trainer v3, Pacer v2, SC Elite v4. That includes their track spikes, which were highly prevalent at the recent Olympics. Their FF rotation is not too bad either. Nice review, as always, Matt.

      @@MyFatAdaptedLife Thanks, Michael! I’m with you on their FC lineup being top-notch! They’ve got some real bangers this year!

      @@its_Matt_B_ The shoe that befuddles me is the Pacer. I know that Emily used it for the trials, but that pair was specifically designed for her. I think the Elite is better suited for us mortals. Maybe the Pacer is best suited for the 5K/10K. Cheers, Matt.

      @@MyFatAdaptedLife I don’t expect to get to try the Pacer myself, but your take on it being a 5/10k shoe seems to be how it is being marketed. Still, with 35mm in the heel it seems to have enough protection for the longer distances.

    Have never run in any of the super comps...maybe someday. My most current NB shoe is the Rebel V4. Still haven't decided if I like it or not. The rebel V2 was a favorite of mine....still have it.

      @@bpg201 I don’t know if it helps or not, but I like the SCTv3 about 10 times more than the Rebel v4. It’s a way more fun experience! I know they’re totally different shoes, but just to say not to judge the SCTv3 by the Rv4! 😁

    I had to return mine and get half size bigger as this shoe is snug and I never go up in size or need wide shoes. Something to keep in mind.

    Great video! How about SC Trainer v3 vs SuperBlast v2? Sounds like SCTv3 firmed up a bit (over v2) while SB2 softened (from v1) which probably makes them probably closer in feel. I know SB doesn't have a plate but two foam design is not very flexible either.
    PS: I just got my pair of SB2 today after having orders cancelled twice at Road Runner Sports. As a VIP member at RRS I am a bit disappointed with the way they handle pre-orders.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  4 місяці тому +2

      That would be a good shoe(t) out, especially to see how a non-plated "super-trainer" compares with a plated version.
      I can't explain RRS dropping pre-orders. I don't know how they decide what to stock or if it's just a supply chain issue, although I assume it's the latter as ASICS is notorious for limiting production of the Superblast.

      @@its_Matt_B_ Yes, a shoe(t) out would be great!
      So, I got mine from the competition (RWH). My theory about RRS cancellations is that either they do not know how many they are getting before they open the pre-order or since they also have physical stores, they are not accounting the pre-orders from the stores in real-time which causes them to cancel already taken pre-orders from their web as a result (or doing favors to certain customers over others). Maybe a combination of all that. Anyway, I am Platinum level VIP. I am considering downgrading that to lower level when it is time to renew.

      @@TolunayOrkun I suppose that’s as good as explanation as any. It seems RRS puts a lot of value on their physical stores and seemingly think of themselves as a brick and mortar running shoe company first. That probably means they direct the big sellers to the stores rather than immediately sell out online.

    For some reason in Germany the SC trainer V3 is nearly as expensive as the SC Elite V4... €280 for the Elite V4 and €250 for the Trainer V3.. Crazy price..

      @@i.p2088 wow! That small difference in price makes no sense at all. It’s a great shoe, but not good enough to justify super-shoe pricing!

      Same story in the uk , it makes this shoe an auto fail sadley becuase £200 + can give you a lot of options and a trainer is not one of them .

    Not a fan of this generation of NB shoes..I don't like the plastic type uppers and the fit isn't very good for me..NB peaked with the Elite V3/2 and the rebels V3/2 for me..trainer V-1 was perfect except the drop..if they had changed the drop to 4-5 and left everything else alone it was the smoothest long run shoe for training..V2 was a brick and won't be getting V3..
