Awesome that somebody is making production axle braces for this truck. I absolutely loved this truck when I saw it online back in 2011. I saved up the money and ordered one brand new. In the commercial add video for the ground pounder they showed it Taking jumps. When I got it I took it straight to a little dirt mound and after about three or four 2ft high jumps both front and rear axle housings were cracked badly. Iwas so bummed. Immediately started making up my own custom aluminum axle braces that worked great.
@@CCxRC yeah I get it. But I want some aluminum axles for mine. The RC4WD Digger axles are around the same length, but have an 8mm output drive. What’s your thoughts on putting them on? Are do you know if the aluminum freestyle axles would work? They are out of stock on everything....
Great vid Tony. I’m curious to see if Jacks Ground Pounder axles will keep up with just the addition of foam to the stock wheels. Maybe a meetup in your backyard of death? Lol
Hey Tony do you have a part number for the hardened gears for the tranni and axles if you changed those. Also were can i get the drive shafts? Did you switch out your Transmission? If so for which model? I appreciate everything you do for the sport and guys like me..
I don't believe i switched the internal transmission gears...but I honestly don't remember. I change the spur gear. Crawford Performance Engineering has hardened steel ring and pinion gears and also a plate to switch your transmission to an axial one if you want to get steel tranni gears. Here is their Ground Pounder upgrade page. crawfordperformanceengineering.com/index.php?cPath=15_52_78_41_45
I have never been a good salesman or good at bartering. I end up paying full price and selling well below what something is worth. :) I'm just trying to have fun with the hobby and show people what the cars can or can't do. I do receive cars to review, which requires links back to the company that sent them, but my goal is to be helpful to the viewers first. I also get asked by people to review cars and will request them if one of the companies who is willing to send them or will buy them if they are one I'm interested in getting. I hope it comes across that way. I will say...I do like Aussie RC Playground's channel. He's very knowledgeable and does a lot of tests with the cars. I've found him to be quite honest about what he likes and doesn't. He was one of the first channels I started following when I was getting into the hobby. It's hard to keep up a channel and have new content and things to talk about on your own. It's very expensive. It does help when companies like a channel and are willing to send their items for review. It's tough. There are times when I feel like I'm just doing what I can to keep up with reviews on items sent and not getting out with my other cars because I need to be testing the ones I sent to do the unboxing video they want and also drive it enough to make sure I can viewers how it operates, speed, durability, etc...to form an opinion on whether or not you want it. I don't usually do a formal review, but talk about how it handles and things I notice and let you make a decision. There are already too many "opinions" out there and many I don't agree with...so I try not to be that guy that is all or nothing. That may change one day :) I'm getting older and older people tend to be more opinionated. LOL. Just kidding.
Awesome, I'm thinking about getting a monster jam truck like the smt10 but this redcat is more my price right now, how do u like those trucks which do u recommend?
The SMT10 is definitely more robust out of the box. The stock tires are also better than the Redcat tires. I like that the Redcat has 4 wheel steer, but it definitely puts it at a disadvantage as a Basner. It’s just scale and fun.

Detailed and a nice format. The only thing I'd add is the use of the 1.5 to locate screwholes.👍
Wow that is awesome, I love it ain't got a ground pounder, maybe in the spring thank you for sharing and a happy new year to you
Just got a Ground Pounder and found out that you cant do 5ft jumps , wish i had these braces. Thanks for sharing and for the link
Really great upgrade !! Nice work !!
Did you ever add diff oil to the diffs ? Debating the extra work to install my blue axle braces lol
I hate to ask because I'm sure you done a video on it- but what wheels and tires are those? I love them!
Any idea on swapping out axles to a axial axles or anything else besides using the aluminum support
Nice video and braces! But why would they go through the trouble to make braces and just not a complete aluminum axle?
The internals worked fine. It was a lot cheaper fix too

Thanks for the groundpounder upgrade..
No problem! Gonna have it out running this weekend.

so we are two !! awsome !! :)
Beautiful
Hey Tony would you recommend that black and decker driver? And do you know what size drive of hex bits to get for it?
I have two of the Black and Decker screwdrivers and use them more than my drills. It takes a standard hex bit used by nearly all full size drills.
What weight oil did yous use in your shocks?
Very beefy upgrade :-)

CCxRC thanks my Michigan brotha!👍
I am curious, what electric screwdriver are you using in this video?
It’s a black&decker I picked up at Walmart. They have similar ones there still
does the set come with both axles?
The set comes with 2 braces to strengthen both axles.
I would love to have them but wife says can't afford it can you help
Wow I assume that axel is bulletproof now
They take a beating..that’s for sure
Do you know where I can find the hardware for aluminum supports
I do not. Sorry
@@CCxRC ok thanks anyways
What tires are those?
They are proline destroyers
Please tell me what kind of drill and drill bits you are using.
Just using a black and decker battery powered screwdriver from Walmart with integy drill bits
what size are those wheels and tires??
I think they are considered 2.6. These are pro-line brawlers
Joshua Rodriguez and proline destroyers
CCxRC they have a 12mm hex ?
Nice if you break a axle now I will crap my pants! =)
+Shen RC haha! Now that gives me something to shoot for 😂
I Know The Owner Of Free Style RC
Good deal. I've met him a few times.
Cool
