I love how the interviewer lets the artist choose the direction they feel comfortable with, and just guides the interview. Gigola is very smart and the energy is great between them. Thanks for a good interview!

once again super interesting podcast but impossible to listen due to the crazy audio volume differences , Playful mag - please get an audio editor! put some compression and limiting on the voices.

Für mich eine der talentiertesten und kreativsten Newcomer DJs auf der Welt. Darüber hinaus sieht sie umwerfend aus. Viel Erfolg!

    Gigola is so nice.
I'm kinda fascinated that todays artists start out producing kinda not just to express themselve but also researching some field that they want to integrate into music. It's like we are trying to find a way to explain things through music / physics and math so we can dance to it? It's like a algorithm that producers create, a code based on what they liked and danced in past that will make new dancers dance and then another artist mix it for their audience or remix it for new audience and they dance to it. The algorithm is endless but share imprints for which we like the person because there will be same people decoding the same algorithm and loving it. So that's probably why music connects people so intensivly. It's a code that makes people connect because the code is deep in them and they share the same resolution. And also the probability that they might make friends is also increased because of the same taste in code. The code is in every hobby yes but music universal and rare.
Regarding her fascination about voice and asmr I find it unique too, that by just voice we can connect with person and then further value the words they choose, how they phrase, what noises or subtle sounds they make, we get addicted in the patterns. Voice can be replicated with AI yes but the original voice everyone have was given randomly and that's kinda what makes it special at first place. Because the curiosity is what makes us human, when we will know everything at split of second through AI, we will find new ways how to live but right now we are not perfect, we are curious, we are trying to live our lives the best we can.
Its so true when she talks about people living virtual lives these days and wanting to rejoin into physical world. Thats what i kinda want too and educate at least young people that they must not forget about living outside. Like for example weeb comunity I love being weeb but realy people learned to live in virtual worlds such as VR, or being vtubers or just dwelling in discord groups having trillions of online friends but no real life. That's what i want to change because it's concerning me. Are they going to be raving virtually in 2077? Because seriously if they all the rave kids get old, who will rave there. Concerts like in hololive are already virtual and kids are loving it, they think its new standard. People should never forget to NEED being outside, go to that rave, socialize. Just take the peeps from your online group and go to party. Are they from different places in world? Well go to any party and find someone else, there will be always one thing sure: they already love the music you love.I know that this digital age with all the social media is kinda exhausting, fast and chaotic so being friendless, anxious, or finding real world boring because there might not be anything desirable for them outside, but i think music and future rave gatherhings could shape the world diferently, and formlifetime friendships and new communities, its already in making past covid due to a lot of people making their own reaserching of finding new ways to live or making music, joining groups, getting better at something/ acquiring skill so they have something new in common with other people with same taste. So perhaps they have desire to play or attend parties with people with same music taste, so the music finaly kinda connects us because its not just the music that is the funnel but then in real world as we dance, we laugh, we talk, we share the moments, it becomes real. Theres kinda nothing better than dancing with your friends on a track you all love. And you can't experience it by jamming in discord group.
Also shes so true about the virtual self that people make these days.
I like how shes wants to know how things work deeply.
Also thinking the same regarding djs and artists that theres space for everyone because everyone have kinda their audience that will always follow them and theres literaly so many options in world as there are tons of people that wanna rave and its growing at insane rate. People in this age and espec gen Z glorify music. THey are heavily invested in finding the next big track, remixes, making playlists, they wanna stand out and also vibe to insane tracks. So ye that's why the recent grow over the years is so rapid and turbulent. As someone listening to hard dance since 2000s as lil kid, it did really evolve into the most insane era of so many new genres, highest quality rare and creative sounds from new talents.
tldr idk im just typin a lot 😩

love the guests this show brings but the interviewer, seems like a nice person, doesn’t ask very analytical questions & doesn’t seem to know much about the guests / the scene more generally. Its a bit of a shame but I love that dj Gigola is opening up about really interesting things without any questions being asked so shoutout to her.

I started to party in Berlin in 2003 and actually prefer the state of things these days. Yes, space is more difficult to come by, but I find the crowds to be more diverse, be more willing to travel out of their comfort zones, etc. Venues are not as raw, but it is nice that heating and other boring stuff can be more taken for granted now. Happy to see Gigola rising through the ranks to help the next chapter of this culture.
