- A major winter storm is bearing down on Chicago this week as more than 500 migrants were still waiting for shelter space in the city. More than 200 asylum seekers were staying in warming buses at the city's landing zone. Plus, three more charter buses from Texas were expected to arrive in Chicago on Thursday. Mayor Brandon Johnson has been vocal in pleading for help from the federal government to tackle the migrant crisis in Chicago. He sat down with CBS 2's Sabrina Franza about the city's response and more.

There is no free food for legitimate residents of Chicago, and the legitimate resident still has to share his vacant lot for the migrants because if they don't comply they will be sued. The thought process that led to the utterance of this sentence is the same one that caused millions of taxpayers' dollars to be wasted building on site that is known to be toxic BEFORE the environmental study has been completed.
I do not know enough about Abbott to support or condemn his actions, but I can make a reasonable conjecture that illegal immigration is more chaotic at the border than it is here, which means Abbott is not to blame. The mayor clearly doesn't believe in national borders and too easily forgets that he is in charge of a city, not the Western Hemisphere and certainly not the globe. I mean, he seriously struggles with forming coherent, concise sentences. I wouldn't wish anything much more complicated on him. He might be a nice person, idk, but he has shown he's not up to the task of chief executive of the 3rd largest city in the US.
I can't say that I agree with Abbott on everything he's done or is doing, but I think he is becoming more of a scape goat at this point, to take the eye off all the buses the Fed government has been sending to sanctuary cities. That is never mentioned. It's not like Abbott randomly scoops all them up and ships them off. These people have determined their destination long before they ever reach the border and the overwhelming majority seek sanctuary cities. He's doing exactly what the government is doing and taking them where they want to go. The only thing is no notification of arrival.
