I’m 9 months post op and I’m so glad i got Dr. William. Loving my results and still listening to my doctor!
I had my tummy tuck in 2018 its the best thing i ever did people talk about belly button looking fake who cares ive got no saggy skin i can wear a bikini something ive never been able to do before
Yasss! That's great! I can't wait, super nervous but excited. Scared about the pain
I did it, 4 days out and actually feeling pretty good! Tight, still need to go #2, but feeling pretty happy lol
I’m 1 week 4 days post op and it’s good to know I’m on track with what I should/shouldn’t be doing. Loving my results so far! Thanks for this video!!!
@@vanessawalton296 I used it for like 1 month and then my dr told me to switch to a stage 2 faja.
Thanks doc. I haven't had a tummy tuck but I did have Roux-en-Y and a tummy tuck is on my to do list.❤
1 week and 5 days post op and I’m already so thankful I chose Dr William! Thank you for all this info that helped me prep, and for doing phenomenal work on me❤
Great video!! I’m 1w 1d post op and it’s good to know I’m on top of things, doing what I should and avoiding what I should not be doing. I’m a grateful for even the small changes I can see thus far. You are an amazing doctor.
Thank you! You got this! Just get through the first three weeks and then it is all down hill!
Thanks so much! My skin removal after 200lb weight loss is in 2 days. These tips are very helpful! I really appreciate you taking time to educate! ❤Jalyne in Utah USA
Everything went well. I came home with a wound vac on my fleur-de-lis and Panniculectomy incision and a JP drain on both hips. No serious complications. I did have a hematoma develop after my right hip drain was removed. It eventually resolved. I’m still dealing with some swelling after 7 months. My surgeon said it can take some patients up to a year. Given my age (62) and that I have had a duodenal switch weight loss surgery- my healing is slower. Thanks for asking and good luck to everyone having this surgery. It wasn’t easy but wasn’t as bad as I feared. 👍Jalyne in Utah
THIS GUY!!! I swear EVERY person seeking a TT should hear Dr. William first!! He gives such accurate information, VERY HELPFUL information, he tells you what other pos surgeons don't and he is spot on about the outcomes and the do's and don'ts!! How do i know?? I had mine a yr ago, not by Dr. William, but by a pos Beverly Hills surgeon that has medical assistants instead of registered nurses pr himself talking to us after the procedures in the follow up appointments. I didn't like to touch my belly after the TT and I hated the feeling. I urge you, ladies to FOLLOW DR. William's advice 100%!!! He is a GEM in the plastic surgery world.THX, DR. William!!
I had a drainless tummy tuck, surgeon who specialised in them, under a lighter anaesthetic than general. Amazing result.
That's wonderful. There are more than one way to perform a lot of these operations. I only educate on the method I use but I always encourage patients to meet with other surgeons and pick the plan that suits them best.
Dr. William ty for all information regarding tummy tucks you did mine last January 2022 I will be a year post op on the 31st. I followed your instructions to the T and I love my results❤️ and I never miss watching your new videos Tysm for all your help you truly care about your patients 👏🏼👏🏼

3 days post op, ready to hear all the instructions!
Heck I didn’t get a tummy tuck and was informed
1 month post op this is very helpful i still got a blood clot after all the walking and injections my pcp found it after ordering a pvl test so if you all have any leg or foot pain get it checked out immediately other than that I have zero results the best decision ever…and thanx doc i bought some sliced pineapples that i never ate forgot they were in the bottom on the fridge glad i didnt eat them after watching your video thanx again very informative especially the nerve pain portion that’s a big one that’s never talked about👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
May I ask how were you feeling like what were your symptoms? Glad you are okay now.
My first "meal" they gave me after surgery was a cup of apple juice, jello and water ice. The nurse asked why didn't i touch anything, i told her because it was three cups of sugar lol
Having a tummy tuck in 46 days. I’m nervous as all heck…. Thanks for this video
I'm 43 and had mine about 3 weeks ago. It was a process with recovery.. The worst part was the constipation and gas. Make sure u get your lymphatic massages..
Oh Dr. I love my tummy tuck! Surgery was yesterday and the glimpse I saw this morning at post op-- I absolutely love it ! I am so happy to have been able to keep you as my surgeon. !! Thank you ! Youre amazing.
My pleasure. You still have a long journey but day by day you will feel better and the results get better as well.
Thank you. . It's hard to get out of the recliner alone and I'm afraid to put pressure
I had a tummy tuck at age 21 and 4 years later I had a boy...and now 14 years later after my tummy tuck my abs are strong af and my stomach is still flat. I have gained and lost 80 lbs and still rocking it. If a tummy tuck and ab repair is done properly, there's nothing for you to worry about. So #9 is debunked.
you’re literally one person. it isn’t debunked you just had a different experience. most people will need a revision after doing what you did lol, that’s just a fact.
Really?? I'm 30 and I need a tuck but I've never had kids and don't plan to for a few years. I really don't want to wait until afterwards but I don't want to ruin getting a tuck at 30-31 and then having kids at 34-38
@@Nonyah123 no good surgeon would ever recommend getting a tuck before having children. most people WILL need a revision.
No they won't. Is this your experience? Because there are several people that I follow on instagram who have gotten pregnant years after a tummy tuck and were able to bounce back. So speak from experience or don't speak at all. Thanks!
@@uniquely_latin2058 they are the exception, not the rule. That’s literally the reason surgeons don’t recommend it. you are being ignorant
Hi! How can I request and obtain you as my doc? You have given me a comfort about this more than anyone I’ve consulted with.
This was so well explained, thank you! I'm one week post op and really appreciate the advice.
Thanks, Dr. William! Your videos are always helpful and although I studied them prior to sx, I was not prepared for the post-op recovery. I am 2 weeks post op TT and BBL and the recovery is a SOB! Also, my recovery house, Enchantress compressed TT patients including myself making the binder tight. They also encouraged me to get into my faja 2 days post-op! Of course, I did not bc I couldn’t fit it anyway. My surgery sister is dealing with necrosis/ wound infection as a result of having her binder so tight post op. I think all recovery houses should watch your videos to reduce poor outcomes after you’ve created a masterpiece of a body! Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for sharing. Everyone wants to compress but after a tummy tuck the blood supply is weak so compression cuts off that blood supply and then the tissue will die. It's a big problem and I am trying to get the word out. People are putting on binders and tight fajas and waist trainers and then getting big wounds. Must be careful.
My physician put me in a compression garment one week post op. Light binder straight out of surgery. I am so confused about all the discrepancies amongst plastic surgeons. Are you saying you never use compression garments for tummy tucks? I am currently 17 days post op. Also never said anything about Lovonox. I also just started ultrasound lymphatic massage.
@Lisa Carter he didn't say never compress, he said you should not compress straight after surgery. Your Dr did the right thing.
Ayocahs- would you have done the procedures separate if you could change anything? I
Thinking about doing the Tt, lipo 360, bbl but I’m trying to make the right decision so I can heal properly
@@jeanetteconey5138 it’s hard to say now that it’s over. I don’t think I would do them separately because I don’t want to go through the pain again. Also, I wasn’t as leaky as the BBL dolls. I just can’t deal with being cold and wet, but that’s just me. I sat on my butt the entire time, but I used a boppy pillow. My butt looks nice and natural. I love my results and I’m only 8 weeks out. Dr. William performs masterpieces!
So nice for you to give such good information and instruction for what not to do after this surgery. So many times patients are not verbally give crucial information after leaving hospitals or medical centers even after just medical procedures. Instead instructions are buried in paper work patients never read (mainly because they are still groggy). I believe patients should be given this information before & after.
Yes it is so much better to get the information before surgery when you are in a little better position to understand it and take it in.
I really wish I had known before the "not wearing a faja until 2 weeks after surgery". My surgeon told me to wear it really tight, and know I have a 2cm size hole on my tummy. Still healing and recovering.
I love how direct you are!
Hahaha. Not everyone agrees with you! But if you imagine yourself in my position, it is really bad if you tell a patient how they will look or tell them something you know they won't be able to achieve and then have to see them after surgery when they are unhappy because they don't get that look you would also become very direct and honest and straight forward.
Dr. Miami, I thank you for all the information you provide. You're very thorough and explain everything so well.
I hope to be having a TT surgery at sometime in 2023, and your videos have helped prepare me for my future journey.
I have a question I've never seen addressed. I have tried to research this, but can't find the answer. Even in the picture shown, it shows a vertical line dividing the apron of fat. I have noticed only some people have this. I never did, but suddenly started to develop one. About 2.5 years ago, I have lost over 100
lbs. Is it related to the laxity of the skin.
Could you explain the medical terminology for this condition and why it develops.
Very productive video DR. Williams. Today is 10 days after the lipo and tummy tuck op and the drainage is 250ml a day and I'm also a diabetic. Please is it normal is there something I should do?
I’m 15 days in and I was in a faja from day one. Now on my second one which is smaller I will say all doctor have different instructions so I feel is just best to follow what your doctor said
I agree. Every surgeon has a different way of doing things so I would follow his or her advice.
What type of faja were you wearing? Did you have lipo done?
I’m confused if a faja is needed for a tuck with no lipo!
Do not:
1- lay on your tummy
2-wear a compression board or faja right after surgery
3-put anything on your belly button
4- put any ointment or cream on your incision
5- remove drains too early
6- lay around KEEP MOVING!
7- miss your lovenox injection
8- get a tattoo for 6 months after surgery
9-have kids after surgery
10-drink pineapple juice
11- forget to touch your tummy
Thank you! This video was straight to the point which is rare because ppl like to hear themselves talk.😎🙏🏾🥰
Wow many people were saying to drink pineapple because it helps healing process
@@NoahsNestBabySensory The pineapple fruit is ok but not the can because its processed plenty of sugar
In what medical practice do patients remove their own drains? Holy Hell. My surgeons always removed drains.
Thank you for the great information
I’ve been studying you since 2019 and I just love your work. It is just so beautiful. I hope one day I could come to you soon.❤
I hope so too! Let me know if there are any video topics you would like to see.
Thank you so much for your reply. My question was that after removal uterus infection create inside the body . How we can get rid of infection. Small surgery or just medicine can work in this situation? Thank you for your time.

Well Factor V Leiden and tummy tuck did me in and now I am trying to recover from tummy tuck/lipo/disastiis repair after being in the hospital for 5 days with clots in both of my lungs due to a DVT (and persistent bugger plantar fasciitis to boot). I am starting to get some tummy pain as the nerves get busy, but primarily it's been pain in the back. I expected to be star recoverer but instead I've had incredible pain and will now be on blood thinners for life. I have follow-ups on the calendar with all the appropriate docs but at this point I don't even know what is and isn't safe to do. I wish I had known to insist on lovenox.
Do you recommend lymphatic massages on ETT and if so how long afterwards? With drains or after they are removed?
I got them 3days post op to remove the hard spots and reduce swelling. As long as the therapist is trained properly and does light pressure until you are able to take a little more pressure
O, i still had a drain when I did my massage. My drain came out on its own after 1 week and the massages help with the fluid collection and reduced the swelling
Thank you for the advice!!!
Thank you doctor 😊 I'm 3.5 weeks post up and most of these I have heard but you have definitely educated me... Especially on the on belly button ball issue, compression topic, and to REMEMBER TO TOUCH MY TUMMY!! 🫶🥰
Hey I’m not a patient of he’s but I had the procedure done and ended up in hospital 18days, incubated, blood transfusion , Homehealth, rehab, blood clots etc. I’m (3) months post op and would love to tell my story not sure of going about you/tube
Thank you for making this video. I’ve been thinking about getting a tummy tuck sometime in the near future. But now I know I should wait just a little longer.
I’m 64 and have had 2 c-sections and a complete hysterectomy using the same incisions. Recently had an ALIF back surgery. So that incision is 5” to the left of my belly button running vertically. Lost 50 pounds prior to back surgery and my stomach is now a major disaster. Seriously thinking of a tummy tuck!
I am so glade i came across your video thanks so much for the tips I definitely need to be educated i had a question how many weeks after surgery to wear a faja? also are lymphatic massages required after?
Lymphatic massages are definitely recommended. You will.have swelling in your back and belly and the massages helps drain out the fluid via pee and or bm
Very informative video ! Love it!!! however after how long after a tummytuck can you use Muscle Stimulation Machine ? Thank you in advance
Wow glad I watched this! TT/bbl coming up in a few weeks and A LOT of women are recommending drinking plenty of pineapple juice
Brilliant advice
Can you do video on what not to do after liposuction thanks love your channel
Great decision I took in my life time. Enjoying the results
Thanks for the great video. I'm about to do a tuck soon. I feel like so many options are being thrown at me like Myer's cocktail and banana bag and Arnica pills. Of course everyone wants to heal the best way possible but are they all necessary i just don't know.
I’m 35 I’m planning on having a tummy tuck this year repairing my abdominal from having big babies. But I do want to have another baby 5 years later. Should I just wait to do a tummy tuck?
If you are planning on having a baby then I would wait until you have had your baby before getting a tummy tuck.
This video is very informative. When are we out of the clear from possibly getting a blood clot? My doctor didn’t prescribe me lovonox and he also doesn’t recommend NSAIDs because of possible bleeding? I do walk every two hours to the bathroom and to do a few laps around the kitchen. Im in extreme pain but I don’t want to risk getting a blood clot. Thanks so much. Hope to hear from you soon.
The increased risk for a blood clot from surgery persists for at least a month after surgery. Walk, walk, walk. Not long but frequent. It's hard with the pain for sure but it is so important. Keep up the good work!
OMG he is the best of the best ❤❤❤❤
When do you start to wear the faja? How long do you wait?
You forgot to tell us for how long...like how long do I have to wait until I can have pineapple? Pineapple juice..etc... obviously I won't remove the drains and such but what about the timeline for the other things...
Thank you. Your videos are the best! I think I followed all of this except I was told to ALWAYS wear a compression garment. I don’t always wear it and when I asked why it keeps swelling so bad after 4 months, I was told that I should be compressing 23 hours a day. I’m confused. The swelling goes down after a day of compressing. I had the same thought as you. A tummy tuck gives you an instant result. Then when the swelling stops you see the final result. My case is different. My stomach is big and hard above the belly button if I don’t compress. 😢
At 4 months you should be flat. If you are not flat I would suspect that it is internal fat that is preventing you from becoming flat and not an issue with compression.
@@DrWilliamMiami thank you for the information. I am now at 5 months and nothing has changed. Lots of bulging above the belly button. Between weeks 2 and 12 my tummy was very flat. It’s grown a lot. Surgery center was no help. I’ll keep watching your videos.

Hi Dr. William! I had a TT with you 9 months ago and my Belly Button is pretty Keloided and because of it is extremely small and looks closed, what do you suggest I do?
How soon after a tummy tuck can you wear a faja? How long does a binder stay on?
I have my TT patients at 2 weeks postop lose the binder and change to the faja.
@@DrWilliamMiami been stuck on this binder at 5 weeks lol!! Sigh…. Wish you were in California
Hi doctor william. I would like to know is it normal after a tummy tuck 16 days later for yr lower belly to be hard but doesnt hurt. Thank u in advance
I can't answer your question specifically in your case, but I can say that some of my patients are very hard for the first 6 months after a tummy tuck in the lower abdomen, and then things begin to soften by 12 months. Best to use a roller during this stage.
@@DrWilliamMiami last question doctor, i was. 35 inches off my belly before surgery now im 38inches 18 days after tt is that normal?? Shouldnt i be smaller after tt. ?? Hope u csn help with answer thank u so much.
This is so common. For the first three months you may actually be bigger than you were before! This doesn't make sense at all--how can you be bigger after a TT?! But it's normal but after you get through the bloating stage you will get smaller than you were before surgery. Just takes time.
@@DrWilliamMiami hi doctor william i have an important question, the top of the in between of my chest is a lil hard n bulge a lil n sore is that a bad muscle repair work? Did it become undone!??
How long after surgery can we start wearing a Columbia’s faja? My massage therapist stated that I was ready for a stage 2 when I was 3 weeks post op
What about just getting the skin removed and liposuction. should you use a faja and boards and foam right away or do all of these no’s apply?
When do you recommend laying on your tummy post TT? I will be 6w post op this Friday from TT lipo 360 and BBL. I am dying to lay on my stomach. And I am ready to ditch my bbl pillow 🤭
I tell my patients it is ok to lay on their tummy at three weeks after their surgery.
Did you have all procedures done in same time ?? Im really curious because that’s what I’m planning to do !! Thanks in advance for your reply
@@VickyRyan2018IMO I wouldn't do both tt and bbl because it's alot and you will definitely to lay on your butt with a tt and it's just too much to deal with but that was my experience with getting both done. If I could do it over again I would do bbl first
Good morning Dr William , I just wondering if someone has internal infection after removal of uterus it is safe to do cut again and clean or just from medicine person can get recovery? Please give me your advise. Thank you so much
I am sorry but I don't quite understand your question. Can you re-phrase it. I would be happy to answer if I can.
I have had it now at 27. 3weeks postop now. No kids yet lol but had a bit of a loose pouch of excess skin after massive weight loss and working out didnt tighten the skin ofcourse. My TT didnt include muscle repair, just for aesthetic purposes. Idk if I did it too early but I also dont see kids in my near future😅
What do you mean by not including muscle repair is more aesthetically better?!?!
Wish I can get my surgery with Dr William 😢 bu I Will take every advice from him ❤️
@Dr William, where I can send my pictures for you to review them since I live outside of Miami??
Dr. William what if your getting a tummy tuck and bbl? I’m book with you for next 2024 can’t wait!
The same things all apply except you can't sit on your butt if you do a TT/BBL
How soon after tummy should I start post op massages? Awesome video by the way
Next day you can massage back if you had liposuction otherwise I suggest waiting for 2 weeks.
Hello Dr., thank you for your information🙏 how long should we continue to take muscle relaxer pills 💊
I don't prescribe them. That class of drug is very, very old and I recall asking one of the doctors when I was in medical school when they were discussing muscle relaxers for back pain and I asked--how can the patient walk after taking the medication? The doctor was like "what do you mean?" I said well, how does the pill know just to relax the muscles in the back? Can you still walk after taking one. I never got a good answer and this class of drugs has never made sense to me.
When do u suggest to wear a faja?
Hello Mr., Willams, Do I have to take the Lovenox injection, I currently take blood thinners called Clopidogrel 75mg and Bayer 81 mg. Will my prescriptions be enough to take after my surgery?
I would ask your surgeon. Personally I don't perform elective plastic surgery on patients who are on Aspirin and Plavix but I would check with your doctor--they will advise you on how to manage those medications.
I always new that pineapple juice wasn’t a good idea for recovery specially the one everyone recommends on the SX groups( Can pineapple juice)
Thank you for this videos Dr William !
Hello Dr. William I wonder if you could say something about when to consider finally doing a tummy tuck?
Besides being very individual when you think your reached your goal (or because medical complications due to excess skin) e.g. after losing weight.. I read on the page of a clinic they recommended to get down to a BMI around 25.
I consider a tummy tuck but not sure if I should be still more patient (running out of it though)
Starting from March '22 I lost a lot of weight. Starting with ca. 121kg (156cm) going down to 71,2kg then 8months ago gained a bit back but holding it around those 74,4kg since (BMI 30,xx)
I thought about losing another 10-15kg because I imagine that would be better for surgery? Also I hit the gym to build muscle and help the skin (I am around the same percentage of muscel and fat)
I am wondering if those numbers are good enough or if I need to put more work in?
What do you recommend your patients? 2:34
Congratulations on the weight loss! That's a lot of weight!! Usually after losing a lot of weight, as you describe, we wait until 6 months after the patient's weight loss to make sure their weight is stable before performing a tummy tuck.
Since I am facing the prospect of having so much removed, I was wondering if you could give any advice on how to possibly lessen the amount needed to be removed or what to do to get ready for a tummy tuck. The tips of what to do afterwards are great, and have me planning what to do after I have mine, I just don't know what to do before it. A brief history, I started my weight loss journey in August 2023 and so far have lost over 20kg, and in order to reach my goal weight I know I have to lose at least 30kg more. This would put me at roughly a 27 BMI, and I know that I will need a tummy tuck in order to remove the excess skin that will be left over. I was informed of this need by my GP ( I live in the UK ), and such procedures as a tummy tuck are not offered through the NHS unless it is an extreme case.
I don't have a video on preparing for a TT but a lot of preparation is the same regardless of the procedure and this may help you: ua-cam.com/video/98C164nqKPI/v-deo.html

Hello, I have a question: I had a surgery for diastasis and mini belly tuck, 1,5 yrs ago, I did everything well and the scar is ok, but
I have again loose skin and not happy at all with so much money spent and pain and recovery time! Is it normal? Is there any treatment that could help besides being under knife again? Thank you!
Unfortunately, there is really nothing that can be done to tighten skin laxity. It's why I typically don't perform a mini tummy tuck, because usually people with diastasis most commonly get a better result if they have a regular tummy tuck as it tends to remove more skin and that gets rid of the skin that is lax.
I'm 35 and had previous hernia surgery when I was 12 is this procedure still possible for me
After how many months we can get pregnant after tummy tuck?

Hello dr williams. Question after a tummy tuck how do u cleanse ur new belly button!?
I was told to clean with alcohol n bacitracin n cover. But good to know from a doc
When should one start cleaning their tummy tuck incision with antibacterial soaps?
You don't need to use antibacterial soap--just regular soap and water as you normally do and you begin to wash the incision 48 hours after surgery. Not a scrub but wash your body as you normally do and then pat the incision dry after your shower with a towel. No baths.
With #10, after my surgery I was pumped with sugar water. My labs after surgery showed my blood sugar was 209. Prior to that, my blood sugars have always been 80-90's. Any idea why they would do that?
hello dr williams when you did my tummy you recommend not doing the massages. and they didn't tell me that I had to get the lovenox injection and pinapple juice.
