What is the future of the layout, is it a possible chance that you might expand it into another room or something. If not, you have a lot of pride into you layout. I love recording Norfolk Southern leaders on any train. Hope to see you, if you visit Houston TX, we can go find some Norfolk Southern leaders. Enjoy your amazing layout

    Ive been following you for a while now, and have always loved your layout for its size, modern modeling and immense detail. Its seriously a dream layout of mine, except were it mine itd be CSX.
    I noticed especially in this video all the times you mentioned your dad and his fantastic work. ... I just lost mine from a personal accident on Sunday. Im 30, he was 63. He was my reason for my love of trains and model railroading. He loved your layout through all the videos I shared with him especially the winter scene, and was so supportive of my membership at the Chesapeake bay and western in Yorktown, VA.
    My point is, cherish your dad, the relationship you have with him, and the hobbies and memories you share with him. You cant tell him you love him enough. Thankfully I did, and my last words and conversation with him was a happy one.
    Anyone can be a father, takes someone special to be a dad.
    Take care Josh,
    Will

      Hey Will,
      I am Josh's Dad ... and that was an extremely touching comment. I am so sorry for your loss. Your points are filled with wisdom and your relationship with your dad sounds similar to the relationship Josh and I share. As a Dad, you have the opportunity to be someone's hero. Your Dad seems to have taken that role seriously ... and successfully! I am sure you will miss him. We'll run a train around our layout in his honor and yours. Even though he might be gone he will live in the past, present, and future of your model railroading!
      Just another reason why this is such a great hobby!
      Our prayers are with you and for him!
      Sincerely,
      Tom (Josh's Dad)

I have kind of rolled my own and it has been very interesting to watch the Layout evolve over the many years you’ve been documenting it. … just a thought; thanks for content I have found to be festinating even despite not being a model railroader, myself.

    Josh, I always enjoy the videos as I was a very nitpicky model railroader and I love your layout as everything fits. By that I mean not only are the locomotives and cars are correct, but the scenery and signals are a s well. The important part that you have done a perfect job of is to put the same focus into period correct vehicles. The awesome weathering brings it all together. BTW have you ever met Eric? I know he has very graciously hosted people in the past.

    • @tomclark4654
      @tomclark4654 2 роки тому +1

      Kadee #5's. Some cars require the Kadees with whisker springs instead of the copper springs that come with the "5's. Most need regular length shafts but occasionally you might need a longer shaft length. We buy in bulk (I think it's a group of 20 with springs and such. It's cheaper over all) I'd get an assortment of you can. That way you will be ready for any refit. They also make scale sized couplers but all your coupler heights have to be exact. You can get a coupler height gage, which actually is a good investment!
      Hope that helps!

    Awesome man! If you ever want to make changes to the yard. I would recommend a switching lead. That way you can switch in the yard without using the mainline. IRL having to use the mainline to switch can make for a long day. Because you constantly have to call up the dispatcher to get a signal and they won't give you a signal if they got trains coming. Not that it doesn't happen, it does. At Hayne Yard in Spartanburg, SC. We don't have a switching lead on either side. On the south side it's due to having the west yard as head room. On the north end, We have to use the mainline if we have too many cars. But only a couple locals will have to switch from the north end.
