Been playing for 30 years...self taught. Still have no clue regarding music theory. All I know is the rough major and minor pentatonic scales. Only thing that saved me is that I have a good ear because I started before the days of youtube and had no video to refer to. Once youtube arrived and I saw how the actual songs were played I must say that I was more right than wrong. I look forward to your videos.
I’m from H’Town Alabama. Been playing guitar since the 80’s and I still don’t know the fretboard completely. I don’t fully understand progressions either or how to memorize them. My daughter plays as well and I told her we were going to do this together with your lessons. Finally learn the fretboard and learn how to jam cause we understand what the 1,4,5 chord is without having to overthink. I told her it’s what messed me up more than anything. People have told me for years that I’m a pretty good guitar player, but I don’t know what I’m doing half the time. I know the notes on the 6th and 5th string and some octaves. But, I can ever seem to remember chord progressions. My daughter plays piano too, but says it’s much easier than guitar due to the layout of the keyboard. Looking forward to it Scott!
Looking forward to this Scott! I've been playing some 45 plus years and love the theory aspect of it all, I'm sure there are things I will learn from you to push me further on down the road!
I love this ! I'm in Bama too ! I'm and old man and I'm still trying to learn, I was a drummer in school and haven't had the time to really learn to play the guitar, motocross , football and girls were my main focus back then . But my oldest son is self taught and he really impresses me with his ability to play . I'll definitely continue to watch and try to learn from your videos ! Roll Tide !
Fantastic, bring on the fretboard sir!
Exactly what I need! Looking forward to the series.
