At 11:14 is the band saw room I believe at Mac Millon Blodel sawmill in Burnaby, BC. They change out this blade out every coffee break, you can see the trap door for it in the floor. It take six minutes to get up to speed for cutting. I worked there a number of years ago right on the Fraser River.
Saw radius angle, alpha angle and Field gap are not suitable for softwood. Not suitable in hard wood, teeth break. What do you cut with this saw? (02:55) Is there any sharpening work (250-1000m3) working in factories.
Not only does the blade need grinding before its first use, it commonly needs to be reground after every shift, or even every 4 hours. You'd be surprised at how fast even soft wood can dull a steel saw blade. Carbide tips will stay sharp longer, but are considerably more expensive and when you hit a nail, as you will inevitably do, your expensive carbides are scrap.
It's because if you grind to much in the face and not down enough you end up loosing the back of the theet, and if you dont remove the shynee metal in the gullet and on the back from sawdust friction thé saw will start to crack!
Machine automation can be a wonderful thing, but the present day technology is replacing saw filers and benchmen. Pretty soon an entire filing room will be looked after by a handful of people monitoring automated equipment. It’s a dying trade and a damn shame
I don't care about the blade... I'd love to get my hands on some that are worn or damaged... but most of all, I'd really love to get my hands on one of those rolls of steel used to make the bandsaw blade with... Just think of what I could make from that much high carbon rolled steel... One roll of that steel would be more than enough to last me the rest of my life!
*Would have been nice if the people and/or uploader would talk in the videos whereby giving some misc details to what they know are some of the obvious questions that people would ask*
True, looks like a new saw tho, you know first swage. So you can get away with a double swage first time.... Otherwise as you know, softwood swage 7g bigger and shape to 6g.... Cheers mate

does anyone know where I can buy a hundred foot roll of toothless bandsaw blade that is 3/16" wide by 1/16" thick. I'm having a heck of a time finding a supplier.
here www.rexel.com.pl/en/category/92/bands-for-band-knife-machines what you want is "band knife" or "knife band". Tho, its highly unlikely that you will find a 100 foot roll.
relief for the cut material to get out. If you mean why they sharpen from the back, its to basically pull a burr on the hawk bill end of the tooth. The front side is "flat" and the grinding process sharpens the metal over the flat bit. Same as a hand plane if you think about it.
I hope and pray for they are not going to be used to cut any, not even one tree :(. My Education was furniture design and I worked with wood too, until I got older and I refuse to buy new, I felt sad that I had to pay for any furniture that they cut for my sake....
Brother even thou I know that most of the wrong doings and evil against human, animal and Nature is done by the powerful and very very rich, and the one man mostly dont do so much wrong to the jungles, but stil look at our world, and type those words for me again if you honestly believe it !?
@@mamoshimamoshian9078 Just because there is miss managing of the forest in jungles doesn't mean that it can't be done right. Just look at Northern Europe there the forestry is done great. In Sweden for example we replant around 3 trees for every one that's taken down. That have made that Sweden have more forest and more growth than ever before. So if done right forestry can be the greatest source of building material and fuel there is, considering minimal environmentally impact.
That brings back memories 40 years as a sawdoctor thanks for that
Brings back great memories of my years in the industry. Well done.

That's MY kind of factory/workshop. It reminds me that I haven't turned on my bandsaw since about 1976.

Yes, the other rhythm saw sharpening instantly :))
I happened in on a sawmill today and they were sharpening a blade like that. Was very interesting!

Sharpening big band saw blade ...
Great vedio
the blade is so big, I see they use aluminum oxide grinding wheel and CBN wheel on different machines, you know which is better?
,,, gotta love that: orange, hand-held, wheel dresser, on that big blade !

are they using water as a coolant for wet grinding?
Was the last one minions?
Nice video.
Would be a great video if you'd FOCUS THE CAMERA!
Obviously, this Channel does not use any camera.
It looks better when I take my glasses off. Then its just a blur but the still photos look great but this is youtube with VIDEOS.

Nice
Im surprised theres so much grinding. I thought the tooth punch would have been enough. Mesmerizing to watch the whole thing though.

It seems like the grinding is being done a lot on the _back_ part of the saw tooth. I wonder why that is.
I would imagine it might be for chip clearance but I doubt it

Industrial machines are very backward. Add to the incredibly dirty ground. As if it were not a factory.
It's usually because it is very competitive. Not enough money for make up to beautify the process.
