- Railfanning in a no horn zone, sorry for the wayside horn. I suggest that you turn down the volume. The WES train is a intersuburban heavy rail commuter train that uses DMU sets built by Colorado railcar (now us railcar) and has back up Budd RDC-1 and RDC-2 ex-Alaska Railroad DMUs. Also, the other side of the crossing has two gate to block pedestrians since there are two sidewalks. Please comment and subscribe. Property of Amtrak 15 productions

How are these darn wayside horns any quieter than an actual air horn? And plus they don't indicate which way the train is coming from due to the lack of the doppler effect.

He didn't put it in. There are literally trackside speakers that play a train sound as a compromise with the FRA since it is a silent zone

Too Late. Sugar Land and Denton along with a few other places installed them at railroad crossings.
I know, I hate them too, I found a better place for next time that does not have the wayside horns!

traingeekgraham, here's something VERY wrong. When a school bus driver crosses that crossing or any with fake horns, they rely heavily on the fake train horn, odd.

I hate wayside horns
JEEZ! OREGON HAS WAYSIDE HORNS TOO?!!!!!!!!! X( x100000000000000000000000000000000! You people, learn to live with the train horn!!! The train was there WAY before you were. It was invented in the 1800s. Do you know math? No, because you forget that the train was invented long before you even existed. What upsets me EVEN MORE is that this is local to my area. Give us railfanners a chance! Please! Also, I'm surprised that these "Wayside horns" (Electronic CRAP) doesn't bother them, either. It's loud when you're up close, so what about the people who live next to the tracks? GOVERNMENT OF USA: STOP QUIET ZONES!!!
the crossing isn't even updated for a quiet zone, they should either have a median or quad gates, or both. All these have is a wayside horn.
