I got here after watching your CAN bus arduino videos. This is so insane!! It's always a great feeling to make progress on projects, but I cannot imagine how satisfying it must feel to drive your own EV conversion.
Thanks. 🙂 It's hard to say for sure as I was being very careful due to how ropey the situation under the bonnet was but I'm hopefull it will go at least as well as the TD4 did.
@@alibro7512 nevermind damien is sending me a bratitude coupler that's had someone attempt to weld a clutch centre to so should be perfect fit if salvagable
This is brilliant. I'd love to convert my old ranger. I'm going to episode one to start from the beginning and hopefully learn enough to get going!! Great video.
Fantastic project, I'm Soo envious! Something like this is nearly /impossible/ in Denmark since it needs to be subject to stringent testing which is quickly 100k eur. I guess you are in UK where regulation is a lot more relaxed?
Nice mk1 Freelander 👍

Thank you. The feeling was amazing but I still have a lot of work before it is on the road.
Watching you for two years or so. Well done and keep going
LOL, I'm not sure I should be happy about that as it should be finished by now. 🤣
Thanks for the kind words. 🙂
@@alibro7512 , there was definitely a hint of boyish happiness in your voice. Enjoy again and again.
@@stephendarbey5411 LOL, maybe a little more than a hint. 🤣
Proud moment. Good achievement
Thanks, it took two years to get here so very pleased.
Congratulations Mate, well bloody done.
Thanks mate 🙂
Amazing Ali, such a project.
Must have been some feeling finally driving it.
Genius.
Thanks mate. 🙂
Fantastic Job!! It runs!!!
Thanks 🙂
Congratulations brilliant job. It looks like it has good power.

Well done 👏 massive milestone, keep at it 👍
Thanks. 🙂
Nice, I've got a leaf motor coming to upgrade the beetle. Might have to copy your double clutch disc centre idea when I get round to doing it.
I'm not sure yet how long it will last as I may have picked the wrong clutch centre to use but the idea of using two seems to work well.
@@alibro7512 if they can survive damien, I'm sure itll be fine.
@@JamieJones1985 lol, maybe but I went for an old Fiat 124 clutch center in the end for Main drive. I think he used a newer one.

@@JamieJones1985 👍 I was wondering if that might be a better option for you.
congrats!!! what a big moment!!!
Thanks 🙂
Well done on that awesome milestone. It's been a long time coming, but progress has been steady and you've gone well.
Thanks mate. 🙂
Fantastic job! All this preparation and you finally got to run everything at high current and it worked. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Thanks 🙂
AMAZING! you have inspired me to do an EV! congrats!
Brilliant! Let me know how it goes.
good stuff!
Thanks😀
🚐⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 YAAAAY Ali!! Well done, as I said last time, that first move.... Yip. Awesome...
Thanks mate. 🙂
Congrats, well done :)
Thanks 🙂
Made up for you Ali 😁 great work
Thanks mate, how is your build going? I haven't seen any videos for a while.
@@alibro7512 I do need to get back to it, the inverter control is proving tricky so I'm going to look at the BMS, boxes etc next
Haha, revving sounds exactly the same as on my car with the Leaf motor attached to a manual gearbox. I can confirm it sounds as it should.
Lol good to know it sounds OK. 🙂

LOL, I hope you have plenty of time. 😂
Thanks for the kind words. 🙂
Well done - that's an epic milestone :) (A little jealous I don't have the space to do a similar project! )
Thanks.
Some have done it on a driveway but I couldn't.
wooooooohoooooooo!!!
(* evil cackle... ) "ITS ALIIIIIIIIIIVE!!"
Only took two years. 🤣

Building it will probably be the easy bit. I still have to get it past the DVLA. 😳
@@alibro7512 this will be super interesting. You got a new follower :)
