And even with legal documents, people are still subjected to some abuse. I was on an H1B visa when I came here. They told the Department of Labor I will be paid 17 dollars an hour, which was the prevailing wage for my profession at that time. However, my employer just paid 12 dollars an hour. I worked 6 days a week, and my hours were crazy. I cannot leave that job because not many are willing to petition for the H1B visa, and I can only just work for the employer who sponsored the visa. My parents paid a recruiter a year's worth of salary for me to give up and go home. I know my situation was still better than the people in the documentary. I was thinking then that if I can get abused with legal documentation, how much worse they could treat those without.

It actually has been a focus for this past administration but little to no notice because "orange man bad" is more important than shining a light on the success and headway that was made and how much work still needs to be done to continue this humanitarian work. January is human trafficking month. There were quite a few busts over the summer but again too much of mainstream media did not want to show it. Just search for human and child trafficking on Duck Duck Go rather than Google.
Being a survivor myself from sex trafficking, I can say that it happens right in our backyards and people need to be more alert especially families who have a lot of children.
People are already alert, what people need is not to look the other way, be more compassionate and have sympathy for these people who are treated like slaves
This kind of journalism, that is real journalism, will never again be mainstream. It goes against the narrative that illegal immigration is a good thing.

@ If we loosen restrictions most people would use the border crossings. This would count down on the amount of people trying to sneak across the border. The only ones that would be trying to sneak are traffickers and this would make them much easier to catch. As it is right now, we are spending way to many resources catching people just seeking a better life crossing illegally meanwhile the criminals are slipping through the cracks. You know the cartels use migrants as a distraction. Not saying open borders and have no restrictions but loosen them so we can have managed flow
My ex worked voluntarily at a chicken farm like that, for a short while. I still remember the smell and the stories about the animal torture he came home with. To think that people are forced to do that without breaks etc is really disgusting. These chicken farms shouldn't be allowed to exist in the first place.
get your meat from small local farms as much as possible; there are humane farms who treat their animals well and make the slaughter quick and painless.
I never liked eating store bought eggs. After watching this I never will again. I have my own chickens and treat them very well. I can't believe they get away with anything they're doing. They should all be shut down till they can prove they keep a clean place, treat their employees the same way the laws say, and treat their animals right
im not defending that guy, but i think when it comes to responsibilities like that, its fair enough to not take bullet for anyone anyhow given any circumstances. family at home business at work and thats that.
This investigator earned her keep with this one. Excellent reporting! No idea how you got frickin' *human traffickers* to sit down for an interview or even talk on the phone. Wow. You deserve an award.
CLUE: NOTHING HAS CHANGED. I LIVE IN MAINE. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. THE CHICKS ARE ABUSED AND SO ARE THE WORKERS. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THEY GET RAIDED. THAT IS ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED.
Did you push further? So much can be done to stop this crime. An international war on human trafficking is required at the same scale as the war on terrorism !
oh absolutely, none of this should be going on this day and age, slavery ill illegal and has been for many years, there is no excuse for it, and we can eat meat and still treat these animals with kindness, keep em healthy and humane, that is a win-win, a healthy non stressed animal is better for you as the toxins from illness or prolonged stress is not released in the meat.
Us atheists clearly don't believe that and if you're wrong and there is no hell... Then those who commit such evil will never have to pay for their crimes. That's why as an atheist I think it's so important to find these people and bring them to justice. They belong in prison to rot in a cage for the rest of their lives. Our government needs to oversee businesses far better. I've worked at many different jobs and there was never government officials ever that would come and check to make sure the business owners weren't breaking any laws. The problem is that most people won't report their business owner out of fear of losing their job which means losing your livelihood. They say your job can't fire you for being a whistleblower but the truth is, they'll just make your life even more miserable and eventually they'll make up some other reason to fire you. My last job, my boss was a rich prick who broke every law you could think of. We weren't allowed breaks, he'd skim off our paychecks, he'd make people work off the clock, he'd make people do work they aren't qualified for like us retail workers having to fix electrical issues with the lights and other dangerous things, we had to use hazardous chemicals and he wouldn't offer us any masks or an eye wash station or anything like that. Worst of all he'd make managers work an extra day a week and then pay them in "commission" instead of paying them the overtime they deserve by law. This job was clearly a walk in the park compared to what these poor people in human trafficking had to deal with of course, but my point is that we need more oversight on businesses. There's this myth in the USA that small business owners and business owners in general are somehow great decent people and that we should always protect them at all costs. The truth is, they're people like anyone else so there's some good ones and some really fucking shitty ones. There needs to be more oversight on businesses. They need to be regularly checked to see if they're breaking any laws. The good business owners have nothing to fear, the shitty ones should be penalized like they deserve.
Not going to lie I am against illegal immigration but no human should be mistreated, stripped of their dignity or put up with ANY type of abuse. People who prey on the vulnerable and helpless are walking demons . How can anyone put others through hell and not ever feel bad or any remorse is beyond me. People like that are demons in human form.
I used to work as a delivery driver in the midwest, delivering to facilities like this. I could never make sense of what I was seeing there, until now. I wondered, how did these foreigners end up in the middle of nowhere, not able to speak a lick of english, working in sandals and clothes that look like they came out of an elementary school lost and found, living in abandoned trailers and old farm houses, just like the ones in this documentary. Like all cruelties of men, this is more prevalent than anyone would suspect, and hiding in plain sight.

Right now, and for the past three years the US border is being crushed due to our politicians politicizing immigration and pandering to a few ignorant voters who think open borders are a good idea - our government knows full well the extent of this trafficking problem yet they are permitting how many hundreds of thousands to walk right in - many of them children? The number is probably at a million by now - while the foolish Americans praise this insanity and label anyone who supports legal and controlled immigration, and secure borders as "racist." My younger brother was taken by the police in Tennessee, and immediately put into foster care on a farm where he had to work, but my grandma went down there and demanded they give her him back and they did. That's another way they're trafficking kids now.
@@BF0202actually it is. It just isn't sex trafficking. It's called labor trafficking. Would it blow your mind to know there is organ trafficking too. When they can't sell the kids anymore they sell their body parts. And it works the same in labor trafficking. They states, courts, judges, lawyers, guardian ad litem, public guardians, department of developmental services, and regional centers are human traffickers of adult children with developmental disabilities. This is a multi-billion dollar human trafficking scheme and they do it openly, using the law to legally kidnap children. Watch The Price of Care: Taken by the State.
Yep.. The big problem is that most people don't see why they push immigration so hard and then use peoples compassion, while they're too stupid to see what they're actually arguing with others about when we say that they are literally supporting what con inc calls 'free roaming labor'
Imagine how a wall would make finding illegal operators tougher for the owners and that would make the trafficking industry tougher to operate. Boy....that is crazy talk.
As Americans we need to care about where our products come from and be willing to pay more for our goods and services to support humane conditions. But corruption is widespread, there will always be plenty of people willing to undercut prices by doing horrible things to save money on production - it's all greed. And we see in this video the first line of wickedness is committed by people who come from the same place as these trafficked children - the greed is so powerful they sell their own into this slavery it is almost beyond comprehension how someone could treat any child in this way, but from your very own community? Your own neighbors? I struggle to wrap my head around any of this. So much of the comfortable lifestyle enjoyed in the US is made available on the broken backs of the trafficked and enslaved poor.
I worked on a farm in Southern Alabama when I was 14. It was my first job, about 2 miles down a dirt near the house we were living in at that time. When I got there on the First day I was kind of surprised to see 7 guys there already. Thinking what am I here for if you already have this much help. The farmer was doing my paps a favor by letting me work for $5 an hour, so I just shrugged it off. As I worked there over the next few weeks I began to notice things. I also became friends with the grandson that lives on the farm as well, my age, but didn't work with us. I'd ask him about these Mexicans, he'd correct me, Guatemalans. There was this old, run down farm house I would bsee them go inside of throughout the day. He told me that they all live there. He could tell I was thinking along this train of thought that these guys were being mistreated. So I was told to stay away from that house by this grandson on my first day. He now tells me to follow him and help move these coup cages over to the coups. Instead of doing that we detoured to the old house. He opened the door on the other side of the house so I could see inside. It was only thin mattresses, dirty, and old weathered wood walls, floors with a cooler and a 5 gallon bucket in the corner. I'd brought it up to him that it was difficult working behind them most days, because they smelled so bad. He tells me now, "do you see something missing." I say "yeah, everything." "Well yeah, but more importantly there's no power, or water run to this old rickety place. They run an extension cord and a box heater during the cold months. They take a bath out back of the barn on Saturday. So every day you work with them, they already smell. You also make more than three of them put together. The youngest makes nothing." He did not like that it was happening, but he was to young to realize how bad it was until last year when the other's left and these guys showed up. I didn't come back to work on that farm after that day. My dad didn't believe me, and was really upset over me quitting. I was supposed to get on my bike and go back the next morning. I took all the food we had to spare and gave it to the oldest guy. They didn't speak English, but he understood that I knew now what was going on, and that I wouldn't be back. He gestured they were ok, I nodded and gave him a hug. I knew his name, Fransisco is what they called him. I pointed down that dirt road, and gestured the best I could that I lived at the end, to the left, two houses down. I took shit from my dad for a few weeks after that day. It was around October when they all showed up at our door. It was freezing. I looked at them, looked at my dad, and said come in Francisco, all of you. We'll figure something out soon. My dad was a preacher. We were only in this town for a year. We ended up putting them up in the church for the next two nights. Then got them a couple of rooms in the city. I don't know what happened to them after we left that town. I know that had a lot to do with why we left. Nothing was said about the trouble it put on my dad. He was ashamed about not believing me, and would only let me know they were ok.

It does not seem like justice is ever served to those with money and power in America. It starts at the very tops of governments and works it's way down to the dregs of society. Human trafficking is a huge network and a world wide epidemic that applies to every country but I'm just going to discuss the problem in America. Lets start at the border. Many of those in government (congress) that scream the loudest for open borders, claiming they care about the children and people, are lying through their greedy little teeth. They don't want open borders because they want to offer people a better life. They want slave labor, children, sex workers, baby farms, organ harvesting, and drugs. An unsecure border make trafficking much easier and the border goes both ways. Human trafficking is a multi billion dollar a year business. Slave labor and low wage workers means more profits to business owners but babies and children bring in the big bucks. American's are not special. Oh No! We are all "fair game" to them. One million children in America go missing every year. Those are the ones that have names. Many are caught up in the system and just disappear. Trafficked people (babies to adults) from across the border, China, & other countries, are mostly untraceable. That makes them a little more valuable. Trump did not put children in cages because he's a mean person. He was protecting a lot them from traffickers who brought them over the border. Trump was one of the few presidents that was not a pedo and he could not be bought. He did make it more difficult and fought hard to prevent trafficking. He was on his own and surrounded by the enemy. A few small trafficking rings in the US were broken up and that's a good thing. However, I'm very disappointed that no one at the top involved in human trafficking was held accountable. Most busts involving human trafficking involve slave labor. But again, no one is held accountable. This particular bust covered in the video happened in 2014 and Obama new about it. Another investigation of that involved Hillary Clinton mentioned, Crimes against children. Nothing came of it. Crime does pay. forgive the typos. no time to edit.

I was shocked to watch this video. I am a long haul truck driver and this farm in Ohio was one of my regular shippers. You could small it a mile away and was hard to find because it was off the road and way back. I was horrified at how horribly the chickens were treated, but I never knew that this was going on. This place was so huge, I got lost just trying to find my way around. My last load there was last summer. It was also a fly farm.
Horrible for the children to be treated in such inhumane ways!! Secondary horror is the way the animals are forced to live in appalling inhumane conditions. No one seems to care. SICKENING!!!
You do a poor job at concealing someone's identity when you show their clothes and identifiable marks on conspicuous parts of their body. I am thankful for the story and yes there are many people to be held accountable, but do not further put a child's life in danger by acknowledging that the child wants his identity to be concealed but still swiveling a camera around. Just blur the person entirely!
Those trailers aren’t fit for animals much less humans, especially children. The Trillium VP saying that they are “learning” and “improving” when it comes to minors and documentation as he passes the blame is unforgivable. How about the living conditions?! The lies between him and the trafficker were infuriating.
The problem I have with all of this is even if they did hire minors, even if they underpaid them, had they just invested a small amount into making the living standards acceptable there probably wouldn't be all this fuss. The pure greed of not giving their employees sanitary conditions and not caring the slightest bit about the wellbeing of the workers, to me is the sin.
EXACTLY.... like seriously its a fucking trailer, how much does a new AC cost?! A couple of space heaters? Theres no excuse for abuse except corporate greed.
@@adriana7310 It's not just "corporate greed" in this video, look at the team that was the first line of recruitment of these children - men and women from the same country, they "recruited" and sold their own into this slavery. The parents of these children trusted people who come from the same homeland, never thinking that one of their own would do such a thing. It began with a few individuals willing to hurt their own people, as is typically the case with all slavery throughout history - it was Africans who hunted and captured African slaves for export - they enslaved their own people, it was white English who indentured and enslaved the Irish and then buried that history - (but most people won't look beyond wikkipedia and other controlled sources to educate themselves with the truth.) My point in saying all of this is that we don't need to look at corporations as the source, the evil begins with individuals willing to destroy their brothers and sisters for greed. It begins with a few wicked and corrupt individuals, and can be ended by just a few good people - the woman behind this video is proof of that.

As a lifelong Iowa resident I wish we knew who and where these children are that we could help save them. 💔 Makes me all the happier to have our own chickens so as not to support this industry. Illegally here or not, when they are a minor child they deserve protection! Any ideas on how we can find local children that we can help here in Iowa? And how can we find out how to legally go about rescuing them and how to help them after that point? Because this treatment of children is NOT a representation of Iowa! We do NOT support this! Let's come together Iowans! 💪 How can we help?

And people think illegal immigrants have a better life in America. This is exactly why legal documents are important!!!

Labor trafficking, sex trafficking, and young people turning to the streets to survive, being subject to all forms of unspeakable abuse as a result of US politics (unadulterated greed for money and power by an elite few), and the average US voter is silent and spending their money on products churned out by child slaves. We are all the problem here.
Completely unacceptable and horrific treatment of people.
100% agree, I’m not belittling it in ANY way. But can we also discuss the treatment of the chickens? 🤢😔😭
And the Chickens as well.

I am saddened and horrified by this story. As an Iowan what can we do to stop this? Do our legislators and Governor Reynolds know about this? What can I do as a citizen of Iowa to speak out about this? Thank you to the film maker for this information.
Largest egg producer, they know. These eggs are on the shelves of our markets. They know...
I also live in iowa, and unfortunately the state administration isn't going to go out of their way and spend money to investigate these things, because they don't care about immigrants. They don't want them here so they don't care if they're being mistreated or trafficked. And it's not just egg farms, the meat packing industry is also a major culprit in these crimes.
Destroy I ng their facilities is the only way. A vigilante for the people to go in there and let all the cheekies free then bo oom
They do know. They are also in on it. They make money from it and don’t care. All the elites are in on this, don’t let them fool you.

Owners of the property were sentenced or fined...where is the justice...& HHS returning the victims back???
@@NolomEbal44560 Well stated.
Trump won by a landslide, & his 2nd term was going to make much more progress on borders, trafficking of many things & humans, ANTIFA & BLM, the DS govt commies, pedophiles....
The coup Did commit vast election fraud, with foreign enemies. No judge, DOJ, SCOTUS, Congress, MSM, etc. would take the case, nor even Look at Any evidence. But truth was still getting to the world's people.
So the DS coup fired a final salvo against Trump & conservative voters. On 1.6.2021 ANTIFA, BLM, & hired goons, supported by Soros, Dems, et al, were successful in turning the tide against Trump - with their Capitol break-in, which was well under way before Trump's speech ended at the WH. Then the 45 min. walk to the Capitol. Yes, some idiot supporters did join in.
The MSM & Dems' firestorm took over the communications, while Trump & supporters/witnesses were blocked.
@@NolomEbal44560 I don't know where you got the number that a million children go missing every year. But it's absurdly over-inflated. Only a handful of children are abducted by strangers each year in the US.
@@carolynchadwick7867 it's funny that so many antifa goons had voted for Trump. I had no idea he was so popular with them. And it's strange that Trump won in a landslide, and yet all those dozens of court cases, and the lawyers didn't even try to prove fraud... Strange.
@@alex-qd6of What makes you think Antifa voted for Trump? Most members of Antifa do NOT vote. The courts would not look at the cases. It showed how corrupt the court system is.
It’s human trafficking, no matter what people choose to say, some for labor workers, some for sex slavery, no matter we should never treat anyone this way, needs to end and end now♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
It shows how terrible the people are in this industry! Not only are they trafficking innocent kids but they are torturing these chickens
Human beings i tell you. Slavery has always been one of humanities greatest failures. It's one of the things that anger me incredibly.
Family members that claim they didn't know are so full of BS. So many people should be in federal prison but are just casually holding interviews with reporters. Such bull!
ENRAGED that not only human trafficking exists but defenseless, helpless, innocent, vulnerable chickens are treated like trash, legs and wings broken, crammed in small cages, living in disgusting filth for fricken eggs or food. Animals are NO less VALUED then humans and deserve compassion, respect, and freedom. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
So one contracting company got shut down. But the system that put them in power remains the same. Disgraceful.
Things look pretty bad for the chickens too.

The entire industrial animal production sector of the US is a travesty. Look into how pork, feed lot beef, chickens are industrial farmed and it will make you sick. We have very cheap food because hundreds of millions of animals suffer a horrible existence.

"I was stunned" the VP says he knew exactly what was going on everyone knew how are this companies allowed to continue to operate if the government does a raid today they would find the same thing unducument people doing the work.
The companies pay their couple million dollar fines then kick in a little extra money next election campaigns for sheriff, judges, reps, and governor.

I also feel horrible that human beings treat animals the way we do. How can it be healthy for us to consume animals that are miserable and suffering from day one. Feel incredibly horrified by ALL the victims, not just the human ones.
It's very telling that the local Sheriff's department watches for strangers. As if even the public roads in the area of these factories are off limits to anyone who may do harm to to their true masters. LOCAL ECONOMY UBER ALLES!! 😡

Nor do they realize that this easy lifestyle we all enjoy is on the broken backs of child slaves - we don't educate ourselves on where our products come from and we keep these traffickers in business. We don't pay attention to our politicians because we have been dumbed down by an education system designed by corrupt politicians to keep us uninformed and under control, and we're distracted by the nonsense that the controlled mainstream media presents to us to keep us away from the truth of important issues like human trafficking.
Right now, and for the past three years the US border is being crushed due to our politicians politicizing immigration and pandering to a few ignorant voters who think open borders are a good idea - our government knows full well the extent of this trafficking problem, yet they are permitting how many hundreds of thousands to walk right in - many of them children? The number is probably at a million by now - while the foolish Americans praise this insanity and label anyone who supports legal and controlled immigration, and secure borders as "racist." You do a poor job at concealing someone's identity when you show their clothes and identifiable marks on conspicuous parts of their body. I am thankful for the story and yes there are many people to be held accountable, but do not further put a child's life in danger by acknowledging that the child wants his identity to be concealed but still swiveling a camera around.
