hairy563 hairy yes, you’re right. It can be super hard to lock sometimes. For the reasons you said and also because their arm is around your body, which makes it harder to get a clean bite. Someone on Reddit specifically asked me to show this. It’s not my first choice at all from this position. It really helps to have long arms, and even then I’ve never been great at it. David Porter is a beast with this one though.
@@marshallw4492 hey! I’m not sure how I missed this question. My bad. My first choice from the dog-fight position where I have the overhook is probably to try and whizzer down until I can sort of knee slide my leg free, and then look to take the front headlock or go-behind to the back. If I can’t get my leg clear, I like to pressure down and look to guillotine (exactly like this: ua-cam.com/video/aiur2Y9GC3Y/v-deo.html) or try to grab their far lat muscle for a ‘broken butterfly’ sweep, or maybe some people call it a reverse butterfly hook sweep? I’ve also played with the victor’s roll to try and front roll to get a leg entanglement (ideally the saddle/cross ashi). That one is feeling pretty good too.
Awesome technique.. when you fall back are you sometimes unable to lock darce if they have a really strong neck and look backwards?
