I have already secured meals and accommodation through a homestay arrangement and will be attending a language school. 80-90% not responding when applying online is very normal for any industry in the US as well, even for experienced workers. I guess it's just a rude awakening for her because she doesn't know how the labor market is in Anglo countries.
I guess this is because you are trying to get the number in Dublin. Sure if it is remote place, you get the appointment very quickly.
