So, in the second jar, you just fill the jar with empty pods & voda, eventho' the pods have no beans left? The empty pods & vodka still yield usable vanilla extract?
how do i store the seeds from vanilla pod? Not the whole bean or used bean just the little black seeds i cant seem to find how to store them and do they have to be refrigerated? Thank you
Hi there I think it's a sacrilege wasting good expensive vanilla in steeping it in vodka that strips your inside & alters beyond repair the original taste, aroma ! Since you are experienced in culinary matters, can you tell us how long is it safe to keep unopened vanilla pods?Ta.
Thanks so much for Vanilla Bean info! Just purchased 50, which will need to be stored for extended amount of time. Am curious if you would recommend resealing the vanilla beans, as with a Food Saver, that removes all air from package/container?

I have had mine in vodka for 5 years
We are growers of Vanilla bean and we are looking for an interesting Market
You could also just cut the tips, don't scrape! and drop in a Vodka Bottle then you have, Vanilla Extract PLUS Vanilla Beans not scraped!
