I love her so much. I'm seeing Jagged Little Pill in two weeks and I can't wait. I've loved her music for 25 years and seen her in concert multiple times. I'm sure I'll ugly cry. Ha!

This song is incredible. Listening to it here months ago, I knew it would be my favourite off of the new record. When the studio version was released it friggen blew my mind. It is in my top three favourite Alanis songs ever. The production is delicious on the ears. #suchprettyforksintheroad ✨
Totally Awesome that she is making music again. Love her and I would love to see the musical. Her music got me through my PPD and PTSD. I thank her talent💖
It got me through a bad spin with depression out of high school/first semester of college (still have depression but i'm not in the place i was then). It was Jagged Little Pill just expressed every angsty, angry, depressed, and confused feeling i had had and it helped me feel better. The new album coming up (from the two songs we have gotten so far) has given me the same energy now 🙂
@@laurenblake659Thank you for sharing your story.Im glad that she has helped you too, when you were in a bad Spiral in your life. Its important that we talk about it to stop the stigma. I too still have major depression, had this since I was 14 now Im much older and was diagnosed with it and finally on medication. I have two teenage girls and Im thankful that I finally have medication to help with therapy. They are the reason that I keep fighting. I find it comforting that she has shared her experiences in her music and blessed to be able to listen on UA-cam. She is an inspiration. Music is the best Therapy and Im thankful for this.

Great song. But I find it weirdly hard to hear her describe her mother as a 'really good woman'. She wrote Heart of the House, which is one of my favourite tracks. That's not a song by someone who thinks their mother is good. I'm very confused.
I’m confused by that statement. There is nothing about Heart of the House that suggests that her mother was not a good person. Nothing at all. Secondly, even if that were the case, SFIJ was written in 1997 and this video is from 2020. Do you not think that one’s reflections on a parent could evolve over TWENTY-THREE years???
@ttaitt there's absolutely loads: - 'At least with your low maintenance you loved us more than we could have loved you'. An awful feeling for a parent to engender in a child; basically saying 'I'm great and giving you everything you should need, but you will never be able to appreciate how great I am. - 'All hail the Godess'. Similar to the point above. I've always considered this line to be sarcastic, but even if it's in some way genuine it's not healthy. - 'where did you get that from? Must have been your father, you Dad. I got it from you I got it from you!'. Virtually pleading to be listened to and understood by a mother who isn't capable of recognising herself in her child. That's just three. There are loads of others.
I have rediscovered her after not having listened to her in 15 years. What a joy to experience her talent as if it’s new again.
that voice...there’s only one...no other like it...nobody even close
Indeed brother
Someone give her the Tony she deserves it I’ve seen the show twice and this song is magnificent
Agreed with you

This is a life of extremes
Both sides are slippery and enticing
These are my places off the rails
And this, my loose recollection of a falling
I barely remember who I failed
I was just trying to keep it together
This is my first wave of my white flag
This is the sound of me hitting bottom
This my surrender, if that's what you call it
In the anatomy of my crash
And I keep on smiling
Keep on moving
Can't stand still
Me, the notorious bottom dweller
Me, the ceiling-less brave explorer
Lured to the ends of overwhelm
This is my first wave of the white flag
This is the sound of me hitting bottom
This my surrender, if that's what I call it
In the anatomy of my crash
And I keep on smiling
Keep on moving

Such pretty forks in the road
On this continuum I've been bouncing
Life flashing promise before my eyes

In the anatomy of my crash
And I keep on smiling

This is VERY Alanis and album worthy! I'm assuming it's gonna be on the new album as well since it has the album name in it?!?!
