*Use Mud..in a bucket that is already mixed with water... (what they use to do the seams on drywall) *Use Walmart Exterior Paint (for indoor use also) . NOTE: This is the ONLY paint I use now (for over 30 years)... and believe me I have use every paint there is... Walmart EXTERIOR is the BEST and a great cost... *Seal with Water Based Polyurethane... (HIGH GLOSS) NOTE: Exterior water based polyurethane is expensive, (what you would use on the outside of the door)... I have even use it on my floors... it is the best, but since this is indoors and on the wall... use just Water Based Polyurethane. I "Flip" RVs, Travel Trailer and rundown houses etc... (on my 17th one) ... and had to use Mud to fix holes... Just this week, a TREE feel, and part of it, one BIG Branch went clear through the top of my Vintage Tiny Travel Trailer roof, .. I was devastated... HUGE HOLE... I fixed it... (indoor) with the mud and you can't even tell it was ever a big hole there... So Happy. NOTE: ALWAYS... Paint your walls WHITE first... so the colors you select will be what you want... if you try to paint over dark colors it will be darker color than you want. Painting the Walls WHITE first will also guarantee you a Clean Wall to work with. The Mud will NOT stay if you don't have a Clean WALL. Hope this helps...

This would be even better if he buffed this before he applied the sanding sealer which is not needed a clear glossy coat for finish and wax to protect it from water splash would do it.
