Oh no! I love Avocados! I must say that I really enjoyed this video, the conversion certainly improves the speed of the shot and having an illuminated reticle on the scope is excellent for target acquisition and setting the X and Y axis, I'll be having a good look at the kit and possibly the bore sighter, glad you're all feeling better, flu isn't much fun!

The CO2 fog coming from the barrel confuses these small chronos and results in none or absurd readings sometimes. But trying to shoot from further away, you are more likely to hit the chrono.

@@AirgunAlley I had this problem with this kind of chronograph. The gases coming out of the cannon distort the results. You have to shoot far enough away from a distance of about 12 inches. Now you are faced with another problem, it is difficult to shoot in the hole without touching the inside that distorts the results.
Wow, lovely peice of kit. In the FB group, I remember Jeff saying that he inserts a length of brass piping into the barrel shaft to get the correct 12.7mm diameter/caliber. It might be worth asking a few questions in the FB groups for sure. I need to get a bore sighter, but keep forgetting. Glad to hear you and your family are doing much better. Covid is more prevalent than ever just now. Hopefully next time you'll be able to enjoy the UK more, and maybe ger that trip to my beautiful Highlands! Tc. Anna
PS - the chrony you bought looks like it's for airsoft only and won't work with higher powered paintball markers as it will also measure the gas escaping the barrel . Hopefully you can get a refund

yeah you had the scope turned backwards, the big end with the flip up cover is what you look thru. It looks funny because it's a pistol scope so it doesn't need a highly magnified reticle because people usually don't shoot pistols that far, great video 👍
Haha look, I’m famous for mounting things backwards… that’s a given. But this time I swear I mounted it right. You actually look thru the big ring on this scope. It did feel funny, even for me that knows nothing about scopes…

Long barrel, large external tank, or however you cook it up to show the maximum velocities and damage these rounds COULD do? It may inspire company's to push the envelope and also fun to watch. Here’s my thought…get a rifle gun rest and position the chronograph on a tripod 10 cm from the entry point ,use your bore sight for targeting and insuring no contact with the walls of the chronograph.
That enclosed chrono is reading the gas coming from the barrel. Unfortunately with them and big caliber co2, you must stand farther back... but your aim better be on point, or you will hit and destroy that chrono.
Yes it’s the 11j version. For some people it’s very easy to modify it, for others like myself, it’s impossible hahaha Depends how handy you are. Anyway, many youtube videos will guide you step by step… good luck!

I would totally get that scope but i wear bi-focals now which makes scopes much-less-fun. & that little thing didn't accually turn it into real laser-gun 😞

Hmm good point my friend and I just double checked. In the menu it says WT (weight) so I think it's grams. It would've said mass in if was grains, I imagine. Thanks for the input!
I have a Crono just like your new one please make a video if you ever figure it out had the same problem for now I just use one of those Cronos you put against the barrel doesn't go past 400 though

Hey man. I had that chronograph, but the problem is that it reads the co2 as its leaves the barrel. Not good for these types of guns I'm afraid. 😢 The kit looks mental though, love it. 🧨🔥
Some of those little circle type chronographs are not reliable. Maybe try it from another inch or two away. I'm looking at the CO2 burst out of the barrel thinking that it's affecting it. Gotta love the good old reliable arc V shaped rod and canopy design like Chrony brand and my cheap little smaller similar one. Very reliable and accurate and less than half the price of Chrony. These seem like the best style and super reliable.
Well said Bill, I can’t agree with you more. I had to try the circle type, but def was a waste of money. At least for these type of guns. Surely it works well with pellet or bb guns…

Absolutely! The longer barrel should also increase your speed a bit as well. Mine is something between 11 and 20 joules. It had the restrictor removed and witched to the shorter pin

Hahaha well, we’re talking about the wrong gun for that. These are only effective at close range. Actually, tomorrow I’m going to film a long range (100+ yards) video with my Seneca Dragon Claw. Now THAT deserves serious subscription and perhaps a few likes ahahaha Come back this week!
My HDR 50 is very week at the moment, so don’t consider the actual speed. What’s worth noting, is the difference between each shot. The first shots were +/-450 fps without the mount and 520 with mount. The final shots were +/-420 without and +/- 460 with it. So the longer barrel shot consistently at around 50 fps higher…
your new chrono is more accurate.... BUT you have to have the gun farther away from it. The chrono is measuring the speed of the gas around the projectile
That would be ideal indeed. Problem is - if you move the gun back even a few inches, you risk shooting the insides of the chrono. 50 cal is just too big - can’t even think about trying 68 cal. Too bad, with bb guns you basically stick the tip of the muzzle in the chrono and it works great!
Oh man! Poor guy had this often. I guess he gets so many orders that the printer busts all the time. Anyway, I suggest to keep checking :) And thanks for the info!

Hahaha! This is actually an older prototype. They now make a variety of versions, some including an HPA tank attachment, to solve that issue that you so brilliantly brought up 👏🏼

Simple tip for bore sighting, use opposite colors to sight in. If bore sight is green, use your red sight.

That enclosed chrono is reading the gas coming from the barrel. Unfortunately with them and big caliber co2, you must stand farther back... but your aim better be on point, or you will hit and destroy that chrono.

To get the sight higher in front or back of your scope, just put a thin piece of paper on the lower part of the scope rings

Yes it’s the 11j version.
For some people it’s very easy to modify it, for others like myself, it’s impossible hahaha

The g on the crono might be grains not grams!?
Hmm good point my friend and I just double checked. In the menu it says WT (weight) so I think it's grams. It would've said mass in if was grains, I imagine. Thanks for the input!
I have a Crono just like your new one please make a video if you ever figure it out had the same problem for now I just use one of those Cronos you put against the barrel doesn't go past 400 though
Will do my friend! I’ll try it again in my next video. Basically I think we just have to distance the muzzle more from the chrono. But that risks hitting the inside and destroying the thing. Let’s see how it goes, happy to take one for the team ahahaha

Some of those little circle type chronographs are not reliable. Maybe try it from another inch or two away. I'm looking at the CO2 burst out of the barrel thinking that it's affecting it. Gotta love the good old reliable arc V shaped rod and canopy design like Chrony brand and my cheap little smaller similar one. Very reliable and accurate and less than half the price of Chrony. These seem like the best style and super reliable.
Well said Bill, I can’t agree with you more. I had to try the circle type, but def was a waste of money. At least for these type of guns. Surely it works well with pellet or bb guns…
@@AirgunAlley Probably, yeah, considering the size of the shot hole. Yet they are always marketed as paintball chronographs. I always see complaints on them on similar ones on Amazon.

Absolutely! The longer barrel should also increase your speed a bit as well. Mine is something between 11 and 20 joules. It had the restrictor removed and witched to the shorter pin

How consistent is the 500+ speed cuz from the video it seem to only happen twice.
My HDR 50 is very week at the moment, so don’t consider the actual speed. What’s worth noting, is the difference between each shot.
The first shots were +/-450 fps without the mount and 520 with mount. The final shots were +/-420 without and +/- 460 with it. So the longer barrel shot consistently at around 50 fps higher…

maybe don't hold the gun barrel so close to the first one? might be picking up the air vapor and giving you the FPS of the vapor?
That would be ideal indeed. Problem is - if you move the gun back even a few inches, you risk shooting the insides of the chrono. 50 cal is just too big - can’t even think about trying 68 cal.
Too bad, with bb guns you basically stick the tip of the muzzle in the chrono and it works great!

Hahaha! This is actually an older prototype. They now make a variety of versions, some including an HPA tank attachment, to solve that issue that you so brilliantly brought up 👏🏼
