It is good to remember that the Panther Ausf.F was produced here and there but was never installed the the Schmalturm apparently because the optics was not ready. When the Leica was overrun by the allies they found only 5 sets was ready was produced. But the hull could accept the late turrets of the Ausf.G..
A pretty negative view of the Panther, which according to well-respected author Hilary Doyle was as reliable as any other German tank by the time the Ausf G ( largest number produced). You need to balance the negativity with the combo of mobility / armour & great gun...in the hands of good crews they did well. Of course, finding good crews was difficult in late 44 + 45.
