I mean, I do hate xinyan, but come on, her burst is absolutely awesome
Fun Fact: Diona doesn’t kick the shaker in her burst, she uses her tail. If you slow down the burst a lot, you’ll see that her legs never touch the shaker
It's really hard to tell on the second hit but the first one definitely looks like the tail, that's pretty neat!

If you look at Kaeya's hands when he does his animation, when it reaches the peak of its height, a star appears that looks like the same stars when the travelers arrived in teyvat.

It is actually the same star found on Halfdan's clothes with means that Kaeya is also from Kaenriah.

The fun part of theorizing is: It's the exact same symbol that Paimon has in her hair (In black none the less)
A lot of people are already theorizing that the unknown God is Paimon and honestly that seems pretty solid but a decent chance for missing. It seems very clear that Paimon is in some way connected to Khanriah if not just from there
Xinyan design and burst is what sold me in the first place, the visual effect and sound effect are just too perfect. No matter how bad Xinyan is in game or what people said, i'm still llike our rock n roll girl

Xinyan is amazing I like her a lot!
She’s not even that bad. Her charge attack does 13k per tick for me. That’s like more than 100k in only a few seconds. Of course there are better options but she’s not bad. People just judge her because her shield sucks and they think that’s what her role is designed to be but it’s not. She’s meant to be a charge attack dps and the shield is just to protect her from minimal damage and make her damage go up. And she’s fun as hell to play. Xinyan deserves so much more appreciation.

its great that her ult does the most dmg from her kit, with an average build from me she does like 32k at lvl 80 with no buffs! shes getting more screen time and is on the banner for 3.4 so i hope more people start to enjoy her

Gonna be real, I love Kaeya's burst animation simply by virtue of his hand shaking as he charges it. Like, it sells the weight of the attack for me, y' know?

yeah, the hands and the dialogue are what amazes me in his burst animation.
I think Ninguang would be an easy A tier for me because her burst is really elegant and kinda has a powerful aura to it in general and just fits her as a character.
Kaeyas is pretty lackluster ngl, but I like it from a lore perspective since it mimics the ice crystals abyss mages have. Maybe a C or B tier.
i cant believe xinyan has one of the best bursts in the entire game and yet hoyo hasnt buffed her, a crime honestly.
Not only that but he didn't mention that her burst makes her geo construct retract and attack as well if it's there, which makes it cooler
also the way that the jades have a glowing trail behinf them?? Especially when she gets into position??? I love it sm
also as a ningguang main I have dodged so many attacks and exploding barrels with her burst

A plus point for Xiangling: Her ult is a light source and lights up the surrounding with a dim orange light.
Also, I really really really had to keep myself from heavily disagreeing with your Ningguang placement. I love her burst so much, but that may be due to the fact that I never looked at it in Premier.
I actually surprised myself with how I felt about Ningywingy's in the end, still love how it feels to use though, that didn't change.
I disagree on the ningguang placement ngl 😤 the way she spins and flies up, launches rocks then floats down gracefully is so cool to me
On animation alone I can see why Amber wasn’t that high, but I’m a sucker for how smooth it transitions into it after a dodge or attack. 😅

I really appreciate the list you did for us, and especially how you didn’t go by „I like this character so the burst is cool“, rather you took your time to find out details for example with Xingqiu and the spinning swords. And of course, as a Razor Main (plus Rosaria and Xinyan Burst Support) player I‘m endlessly happy with the choices you made. And also for the A characters. Keep up your amazing taste for the little things others don‘t even notice. ✨
Thanks I'm glad ya liked it! When I have doubts about a burst I try to look for reasons to give it points that you might miss amidst killing dozens of enemies, even then I still miss some small details sometimes.
@@Ratheil You know what I also really love about your rankings? That you choose characters like Qiqi or Xinyan as the thumbnail for the vid, as MANY don’t appreciate them. (I personally love both, Qiqi gives me endless heals and Xinyan can Deal endless Physical Dmg with her Burst and so on)

i feel like some of the starter characters REALLY need to be reworked. not necessarily design-wise bc it’d be kinda weird for them to give amber an entirely new burst animation or something but just kit-fluidity-wise. i got jean at like ar56 and her normal attacks are SO CLUNKY compared to kazuha or something.
mihoyo (or hoyoverse now) has improved their assests so much so i think it’d make alot of nostalgia junkie players like me super happy to just make the starter characters work a bit more consistently
i keep noticing this more and more and it always makes me realise how neglected the starter team really is
tldr: mhy please stop making jean stand like this 🗡🧍immediately after every normal attack she looks so dumb
I'd really like for Amber's burst to have some more particle effects going on, just something to jazz it up a bit since it's already so short and feels weak not only in damage but appearance and even sound design in my opinion.
I always wished Jean could have been more of a viable physical DPS with her healing passive and having a signature weapon (?) that's all about Phys.
@@Ratheil yeah, i feel like with most of the starter characters bursts is kinda just like a “OH COOL…. now what” moment. kaeya, amber and lisa’s startups are amazing but the results are kinda mediocre, comparing to raiden or kazuha those awesome little special effects continue throughout the whole burst, as well as being pretty powerful. and actually now that you mention it, the sound of ambers burst just sounds like the enemy getting hit by a bunch of styrofoam nerf bullets

True… maybe HoYo would consider improving the old characters after all the regions are out? It’ll be cool to see their technical & design enhancements effect even the past.

Barbara also does a heart during her burst, but you have to slow it down a lot to see it

True and they even have their own normal charge and skill animation

I just decided not to for brevity sake knowing that none of the differences change my placements overall but perhaps I should have explained that with some text on screen or something! But in my opinion Lumine's startups are almost always cooler than Aether's but I'm still all about Aether supremacy!
@@Ratheil yea, Lumines animations make her look confident, whilst Aether looks like he's struggling. Especially with the wind blade skill
@@CrackingCrackerOnCrack I thought maybe it had to do with how males (being the physically strongest out of the two genders) have more upper body strength and females have more lower body strength.
Especially considering for Anemo that in their elemental skill Lumine leans forward and braces with her legs to reduce the recoil of her skill but her arm flails backwards when doing so while Aether instead uses his arms to do the same but he takes a few steps back from it, as for the burst Aether becomes a master of spinjitsu and spins fast enough to create the Tornado while Lumine instead does a little twirl and flip.
For Geo, in their elemental skill Lumine tiptoes on one leg to reach higher since she’s a little smaller than her brother and her arm to aim it at something while Aether basically just uses his arm to aim at something and as for the burst Aether basically does a superhero landing and punches the ground creating an earthquake while instead Lumine stomps on the ground.
For Electro, in their elemental skill Lumine does a little curtsy twirl with her sword and Aether does a somersault with his sword. For the Burst Aether jumps and it looks almost as if he’s thrown a thunderbolt diagonally and Lumine stays on the ground but it looks as if she thrown a thunderbolt downwards.
In short Aether has more aggressive moves that correlate to his upper body strength while Lumine has more elegant moves that correlate more to her lower body strength. But out of the two Aether is most likely the more physically stronger out of the two.

Kaeya: moves his arm and 3 slow moving bits of ice start spining around him = D
Ningguang: floats into the air as multiple chunks of rock come from all directions, spiraling around her and forming a hexagon or golden stones around her. She pauses for a second and command them to attack. One at a time, a burst of energy is released and each is shot in a wide arc, leaving a streak of light in its path = F

I like the spinning ice a bit more than the flying rocks, plus Kaeya gets a nice little rainbow effect too.

Geo Lumine’s kick for the burst is SO MUCH cooler than Aether’s basic ground punch
100% agree as someone who chose Lumine
The fact that Lumine and Aether have different animations would justify seeing both, though that would be rather difficult without using someone else's footage or creating a completely new account.
I prefer Aether tho, but Lumine is still cute
i wish he looked at their animations separately. i love Aether so much but his animations are a bit more basic compared to Lumine's
when kaeya’s starts there’s a little star and a rainbow effect and i love that so much
edit: also, i feel like there’s a lot to gain from looking at the characters consistently from the back and the front to see the expressions they make during their burst. sara and ningguang’s stood out to me as some of my favorites in that aspect
Wow with the 5 stars i was like: "yeah i can see the ranking" or "yes that where id put it too" for every single character.
But with the 4 stars i feel like 80% of them are missplaced for me. Weird how that is.
And to write it again cause i dont know if youve seen it last time. The unknown goddes from the starting cutscene doesnt wear heels.

@@Vizible21 I just believe the feel, camera and character expression to be more important to me. Beidou burst with the zoom in, pushing enemies away saying "eyes on me" is fricking cool and feels impactful.
He emphasises more on the visuals which is valid aswell.
If Raiden Shogun burst didn't exist, Xinyan's burst would be the best one in the game.
Imo i absolutely hate it she just summons an exploding eye

Oh rlly, I find it pretty underwhelming compared to the rest of the archon bursts
If Anemo traveler's animation was a cutscene, it would be rated higher
It would certainly help a wee bit but I would still like to see more intense particle effects on them all, but I guess the traveler is meant to be a bit basic in all regards. They totally should have cutscenes though, I think the MC deserves it outside of technically being a 5 star.
I think for Anemo it would show the sky turning dark and an up close cutscene of them summoning the power of Anemo around them and make it build up and then spin left for Lumine and right for Aether to the point they become a blur and then it slows down to show them using their sword to direct the Tornado which would be as big as an F5 Tornado.
For Geo it would be a close up version of their burst but with a few changes, Aether would raise and aggressively clench his fist and then a slow-mo effect will occur just as he’s about to punch the ground and once her does it will resemble a superhero landing and the ground would crack and the screen would shake and same thing’s for Lumine but she would use her leg and at the end it will raise larger and more aggressive looking spires/stalagmites pointing in wards all around trapping all of the enemies within the surrounding area and any party member that approaches them they would quickly go down allowing them to pass through and for bow and catalyst users the attacks will pass through them regardless.
For Electro they could charge up all of the electro energy while having a similar effect to a plasma globe and for Aether he would jump and summon a massive lightning bolt and this burst will act like Ganyu’s and Bennet’s burst but far more rapid and with a wider AOE and will specifically target all of the enemies and will by pass enemy shields including the Abyss Heralds’ and Lectors’.
I’ve got an entire essay on how the Traveler could be buffed if anyone wants to see it.
Noelle’s and Ningguang’s burst is just so satisfying I don’t know why
Honestly for me, I think geo traveler is C because I have female traveler and the stomp and reverberations are aesthetic. Beidou for me should also be at like B for the spinning dragon sea monsters around her. I easily agree with Rosaria for some reason though, kick is just too good and the javelin following that can also travel like a cruise missile down mountains is sick.
not the ningguang slander :/. I think her burst animation is really nice, it's very short but she like freaking floats and does a nice motion with her finger. The star jades on c6 look hella dope and considering you used beidous c2 to form a judgment, you should do so for ningguang. When she casts her skill before her burst she turns the shield into a very pretty pillar thing that shoots rocks which has a beautiful design. imo at least A tier.
Another little detail about Chongyun's burst is that when he's about to summom his swords, four small talismans can be seen next to him. I also like that the swords are slowly built up from ice chunks instead of just appearing out of nowhere
I agree with a lot with this tear list. Only disagree on the Ningguang one. That gave me a heart attack she is absolutely stunning. I believe the feeling you get from using a burst should put them higher on the list. You just feel powerful
I agree the feel of it is really good but feeling can change the list heavily, Diluc for example with the long ass cast time and often locking onto wrong targets in wrong directions feels pretty awful to use a lot of the time.

lets just ignore the fact that ningguangs design is based around stars and in her burst she's floating up and looks like she's commanding the stars w/ her PLUS her jade screen turns into a whole damn dragon stilleto thing that fires off extra stars all at c0 (to let u know, she gets a huge ring of star jades behind her shown in the vid at c6)

I liked how he said it's cool for Ningguangs burst to hit someone but with no one there to hit, it's an F tier. But continued to defend Beidou saying that shes higher because it's better when attacked.

I think she's S tier also. It looks better with her E on the ground though since it breaks down into extra rocks. Should be included as a part of get burst.
Noelle does her normal swing but her sword turns into a light saber and you give her a B.
Ningguang JUMPs into the air, does a three-sixty spin, summons rocks that fly around the screen and cause enemy's to fly into the air or stagger and hers is boring and gets an F.
I think you didn't separate your bias as far as you hoped. :P

one detail about rosaria's ult: it sometimes gets consumed by the ground and i hate it when it happens especially in abyss

I personally say Ningguang is a VERY easy S tier, her burst gives her a feel of power and the spin up to flying as she releases all the rocks just makes her feel and look strong
Okay maybe Kaeya's burst after isn't all that spectacular but you have to admit he has style. The star and the rainbow and how he elegantly brings his hands down to summon a triad of geometric, graceful but deadly icicles to form a ring of death???? Perfect, beautiful, 10/10. I'm very biased lmao. Good list! I agree with your S tier for the most part.
That attack is so powerful his hand trembles before he cast it and it hits so hard I can confirm because my Kaeya is tripled crowned
Xinyans burst is so satisfying to do in combat
i’d have bumped up yunjin to b at least because of the transitional animation and the split second your surroundings takes on a more yellow hue. i love how the darker scenery makes the golden flags stand out-it really makes you keep your eyes on yunjin, as if she’s actually performing on stage. nonetheless it still feels a bit too generous, if there was a B- tier that’s probably where i’d place her

I would put Bennett at A! Or maybe B but higher, none the less. I really love the heavy Impact of his animation like you can feel him slamming on the floor. İt feels very satisfying and cool
Sucrose Burst fun facts from a crazy Sucrose main:
The particle effects AND sound effects change when it absorbs an element and I think that's amazing attention to detail
The suction range is actually basically the same as Venti's, it's only weaker in suction strength, and the point where it sucks to is a ring rather than a dot
With enough Em she can shred enemies. My go to when I farm for Noblese Oblige.

Actually if you take a closer look at Bennet's burst, you can see him flip and a second later wipe his nose. I think it's a cool detail
If Xinyan had been buffed and had a burst animation it would be all over

As a Razor main, even with him slowly becoming by sub-dps instead thanks to Hu Tao, I loved your commentary on him, it's legit my favourite burst out of the characters I use plus I like how each howl in different languages sound different. However my heart hurt at the Benny slander, the whole thumb theme is actually a reference to a fracture that's linked to his name
I love how barbara holds up a heart after she spins in her burst it’s so cute
Fun facts, if you look closely to Barbara's animation, you can see that after her little spin she does a heart with her hands ! I found it such a nice and sweet detail that defenitely suits her ! (you can see it really well if you put the video on 0,25x speed)
Once Chongyun is done summoning his swords, he does a little pose that really suits him and exorcism (with the hands and fingers) and if you look at his face you'll see he's doing a really cute sweet adorable smile and I'm dying for that he's really cute and- Sorry, I'm simping for him, but it's a nice detail a lot of people are missing - To add more to my cool underrated boy, you can see that the swords are slowly taking form from pieces of ice instead of just appearing like that and that's so cool !
I am like so obsessed with Yunjin's burst especially her line "Your Grand Finale." Like it looks so satisfying, it sounds satisfying. Really Aesthetic in my opinion.

It's the combo of the burst sword with the whirlwind charge attack. I'm a sucker for a giant whirlwind.

9:44 Chongyun's burtst is kinda sorta the same too. Before the frost blades drop, you can see exorcism sigils appear in front of his hands.
when he used aether but showed lumine as electro and anemo i felt attacked

So it adds to the wow factor too
I don't know why but for me Monstadt characters have best Burst Animations.
What the 2 videos about ult animations has taught me is that you have a very different opinion from me with this stuff. But that’s okay! I still really value you opinion on gameplay stuff.

Xinyans burst is literally so awesome. It fits her aesthetic and personality so well and it LOOKS great.
I can get behind this list except that I'd have moved Kaeya up, just because I like the start of the animation, it syncs up well with Dilucs (which is probably accidental but fun) and looks like the Cryo abyss mages shield recharge animation, I'd have put it in like B.
Also I think Ningguangs burst looks classy af, so I'd have moved her up too!
Maayybbee I'd move Yanfei to B? Probably not though.

I felt like I disagrees you a lot more while watching but after reviewing it I kinda agree.
Although Ninguang being in F is a bit egregious. I really like Ninguang and if I had to build her it would be as a Burst Support
It's only because I separated Ningguang's so heavily from the actual hit effects/damage itself and just tried to judge it as the flying rocks they are. I think it's one of the most satisfying bursts to cast in the entire game despite what I think are underwhelming VFX.
The flying gems, the structure and how her Skill Construct converst raise it higher than an F imo.
I don't even use Ning, but the woman creates a Swarm of gem missiles with trace effects.

I'm going to be honest that as a Kaeya main I also think his burst is a bit lackluster after the startup (which is really pretty imo, but it lasts only for a little while and there's not many special effects after). One of the main reasons why I use him in reverse melt is that Xiangling's burst goes AROUND his icicles, like they're attached, and they look really nice together with the clashing colors. There's also Kaeya's startup burst animation and this twirling (?) motion he does with his hands to summon the icicles, then right after Xiangling starts spinning around with her pyronado and it looks waaay too good. I like to say he's "unleashing" Xiangling lol
lumine and aether actually have different burst animations. for eg, lumine actually spins upside down when she does her anemo burst
Bro you gotta give Sayu’s burst some style points, she does a neat spin flip
Yanfei's burst looks cooler when it's dark, everything turns red and intense
As a Xinqiu main I appreciate the tier list. The small details really give him an edge over most four stars.

Male and female traveler have a different style when using bursts and skills, Lumine seems to prefer her legs while Aether uses his hands more, Lumine stomps down her foot in the geo burst while she crouches down to the ground for the electro burst. Especially with the anemo traveler, if you slow it down you can see Lumine flips and spins upside down before kicking away the tornado, it's super cool, tho it's so fast you can barely see it normally
Idk why but I love the pose thoma does when activating his burst. With the polearm one the shoulders.. idk it's kinda cool

Ningguang should have had that cool ass gate of babylon bs she had during her highlight cutscene. But then thats too cool, they probably would have to consider making her 5* just to put that as burst animation
Bennett's heal zone might be a lil boring but his lil animation, the jump and the lil celebratory pose at his landing, he kicks his leg out and wipes the side of his mouth is so cute, just the little details they put into it are damn nice. It's great to see the personality in their animations beyond just the spell effects and he does that great.
I can say with pride that I have all the characters you placed in S-tier. I am a 4-star animation god now.
