welcome to the NIGHTMARE of waiting for season 2 (it's been 2 years AND EFFING COUNTING!!)
I read that they will wrap up shooting by the end of this month.
I need ben stiller to get his shit sorted and give us season two!
I heard they're filming season 2 right now, so hopefully we won't have to wait much longer but I'm stressin'! 😭@@supersucks
@@AliciaH.Sthey finished filming recently!
Hellie R's recitation of the break room speech literally brought tears to my eyes.
the writing in this show is so good it don't make sense
Imagine in your entire life that's some of the only text you've been allowed to read, and forced to read it thousands of times.
I always took that scene as Helly reciting their version of the Lord’s Prayer. It’s the only form of “repentance” they know
The first time she felt true remorse, the first time she meant those words.
Diegesis and Reel-Time is the crossover we all need
god me too
It's hard for me to think of a better constructed season finale to any show. We find out so much information (yet still have so many questions), and the way the show builds the tension throughout the entire thing is masterful.
You saw Helly’s dad in the Perpetuity Wing, Jame Eagan current CEO
It's difficult to tell the live Jame Eagan apart from his wax figure. If they stood side by side, I'd be stumped.
When I first watched this episode I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time. Honestly the best season finale I've ever witnessed. 10/10
Same! I was on the edge of my seat to see what happens next.
The best in years, indeed
Genuinely one of the most tense finales I had ever seen when I saw this. I had to get up from the couch and walk around at one point because it was so stressful.
The show never explicitly says, but the inneys only forget their own personal memories, and the wider more generic knowledge remains; which is why Irv still knows how to drive a car. Helena got a perfect score in episode one for example, because (amongst other questions) she could remember the name of a State in general, but not specifically where she grew up.
Which is why this is show is the perfect example of John Rawls' "Veil of Ignorance" which was always hard for me to conceptualize
To me that doesn't make sense because all knowledge somehow is linked to our personal memories. If you know how to drive a car, that means that you had to learn it at some point and that experience will be different for each person.
@@hcroussettewell if you look at Irv, he didn’t really know what’s he was doing at first. He had knowledge of “how to drive a car” but didn’t have experience driving.
@@hcroussette it makes sense that there would HAVE to be a ‘cutoff’ point though, otherwise Lumon would be just waking up a bunch of drooling adult-babies on the table that need teaching their ABCs. But I agree that your point does raise the interesting question of; where IS the cutoff point. Because your right; in theory, there would be Innies that could go “you don’t know how to drive? Well, I do, so my Outie must drive”
Yes exactly!! In psychology it’s typically described as the difference between semantic memory and autobiographical memory
Best cliffhanger I've seen in ages! Really enjoyed your Severance reactions. Thank you!
I watched this episode like 3 times, I know everything that's gonna happen, and it still makes me tense as fuck duiring the entire thing. That's what good TV is.
I could not wait for you guys to find out about Helly!! This show is seriously so good wish I was watching the second season right now I need do know all the secrets!
I can't believe this show is not more popular. This is one of those shows that every person on earth should be watching and we're all standing around the water cooler the next morning talking about how crazy the episode was last night. Truly one of the best seasons of TV I've ever witnessed, it easily put itself as my second favourite show of all time (behind Mad Men).
In an unbelievable twist, I work in the film industry in my home province in Canada and they came here and filmed some scenes last spring (before having to shut down for the SAG/AFTRA strike.) Just the fact that they were here felt like a spoiler for me, but I made sure no one told me what actors were here because that really would've spoiled some stuff for me!! hahaha The fact that I know for sure that they got a fair bit of filming done before the strike makes me hope that maybe we can have Season 2 by the fall??? Fingers crossed.
agreed - they didn't invest nearly enough in marketing bc this show is a masterpiece and more people need to know about it
apple tv should step up their marketing for s2. it truly is a masterpiece. the only reason i watched it was because i got a free trial with my iPad and im sooo thankful I did
One of the most memorable tv shows of all time for me and no one is talking about it. Such a shame.
It’s crazy how much they reveal by this season finale but still how much is unanswered: is it a real neighborhood they live in? wtf is up with Devon’s husband’s friends? How and why was Burt’s outtie investigating Lumon so much? If Gemma is dead…what is she doing down there? We also still know nothing of Dylan’s outtie aside from the kids so that’s a totally open question. And maybe most notably, what the fuck are they even DOING down there? They left themselves so much runway
My theory with Gemma is that she was in hospital in a coma after her crash and lumon are buying coma patients, telling the families they died, then experimenting how severance would work on a person in a coma.
Glad you guys enjoyed Severance...can't wait for season 2!!
Best finales ever
The Good Place season 1 finale is up there
The woman sitting next to mark said she had a bird hit her head and said ' i have to change my name again' . wonder if the head injury is the procedure.
I SCREAMED after I saw the final moment of the finale. Adam Scott IS A GENIUS!
best reaction channel on UA-cam in my opinion. you guys are seriously so funny!! love your videos
This episode came out on April 8th 2022!! Its been 2 years since we've been waiting on the cliffhanger and still no confirmed date for s2 💀😭
I've seen this like 5 times now and somehow it still keeps me on the edge of my seat. That last minute? Chills!
I noticed that you guys couldn't recall Helena's dad. He's that statue/mannequin that the innie's saw when they entered the perpetuity wing when Helly R was struggling to buy into severance earlier in the season
12:24 Bryce, with both hands under the table, and gently bouncing: 'They're edging us, bro!' XD
The finale was so well done, it's always upsetting when a finale feels mediocre or unfinished.
I'm currently watching your video excited to see your reactions 😊😅
Y'all are sooo lucky you're just now watching. We've all been tortured waiting for season 2 with this ending stuck in our heads 😫
This season is easily a top 5 season of television I have ever seen. Original, different, weird, drama, not a remake of anther show like everything else they make…my god it was incredible
This episode is an hour-long anxiety attack.
Nearly passed out in shock when I first saw Helly's reveal the first time -- this kind of reveal (twist?) is so hard to generate organically in any TV or film and made me love this show and tortured that season 2 is taking forever lol - Also, wishful assumption, but I think Irv's true reveal will be a lot more substantial to the main storyline (typical of the show to do plot 180s which they do quite well)
We finally have news and they will finish filming in april!!! S1 was supposed to be 10 episodes but production thought it was better torture us and give that cliffhanger.
This episode was EPIC
IM BEGGING PLEASE WATCH MR ROBOT 😭😭😭
i finished season one last night and gasped at that ending. i need season two now!!
Nothing is more entertaining to me than watching people watch this show, especially the finale. So glad ya'll enjoyed it ! :)
Yea irv was the most confusing! I couldn't quite understand what his outie was up to.
I'm very interested on what's going to happen to the innies next season!! Like i assume marks sister isn't going to let him go back, right? Unless he wants to save his wife but would the company even let them come back. And what is the testing room??? There's so many questions?
Irv's story is definitely interesting. The fact he has seen the elevator to the testing floor from Milcheck's perspective, and has access to all the information about the employees suggests he has been a manager at Lumon before, possibly reset again to join MDR
@@dylandagnall3022 ooohhh I never thought of that!! 😲
He is drinking coffee at night and getting sleep deprived trying to “leak” the painting of the testing floor to his innie. I wonder if his dad’s in there.
@@dylandagnall3022that's the theory I've seen the most, but what I don't get is, if he had Milcheck's job before and seen how the innies are treated, why would he ever agree to be severed?
Are they using the procedure on soldiers? Send your innie to war to avoid your outie having PTSD? Maybe Irv originally did that? But now he's been severed again to be an cubicle worker?
Great series, excited to watch along that finale
Innie mark loves Helly and Outie mark loves Gemma. Love triangle drama? also what's best case scenario? i dont want Innie mark to die!
I’m so upset it’s over, I watched it like a month before you guys did and was YEARNING for more content about the show and it’s been so fun watching you guys react. I’ll be waiting patiently for season two, boys!
We need s2 now !!!
Fantastic reactions to a spectacular series!
And now, you're one of us! They are filming S2 now and will finish at the end of April (2024) - which means - S2 release? Fall 2024? It feels like we are seeing a new Lost or West Wing or Supranos. Amazing. I'm glad you guys like it. So crazy and so good! #praisekier #bantheprocedure
bro when the strike was happening i was terrified that this show would get canceled. i LEAPED when i saw filming for season 2 was happening
Ok now that I know Rob is a man u fan, I'm realizing he wears man u stuff in pretty much every video and I just didnt realize before because I didn't watch the prem. Love the dedication to his club. On the other hand, now you guys see why this show is so good. I watched in 2022 and have been waiting ever since for season 2.
So hyped for season 2 🔥
Rewatching this show is so much fun once you know why Helle actually is. Like can you imagine the future CEO of Lumon missing half of her fingers because of her innie? It's crazy.
This is one of those shows that are so awesome on season 1 that it will be really hard to keep this level. Reminds me of what happened with Lost. Let's just hope they don't f*ck it up with future seasons.
This episode literally had me going uo & down in my seat 😵💫
Many thanks to Bryce, Rob and Zuff! 🧠 Season 2 is supposedly coming out this year. Nothing specific, yet.
Rob reacts to shows just like me its so funny to watch.
You guys need to watch on my block it’s so good
There was a hint to helie being an eagen in episode one when mark was asking her questions about herself. One question was "what is mr eagens favourite breakfast"
Idk i think it's ust a routine question IIRC in EP2 Milchick says Mr Eagan's favourite breakfast on the introductory tour.
@@tarostartic8833 they ask those questions specific to their lives to figure out if the surgery was successful or not and that they don't have their outies memories. They asked if helie knew who she was, what US state or territory she was born in, what's her mother's eye color and the breakfast question. I don't think they would ask the breakfast question to anyone else since what would be the point of doing that. Outie helie would know mr eagens breakfast.
@@zanderflank9252 If it wasn't customary to the tour/questionnaire then there would be no point for Milchick to bring it up. Pretty sure he mentions in the next breath that Helly would already know that. +++ If the questions are different that doesn't really make sense to me that Irving who is implied to be familiar with the orientation process acts with indifference to the questions esp. if it relates to the Eagans.
@@tarostartic8833 milchick mentions Mr eagens breakfast to outie helie not innie. That was the tour she got before severed or before she entered the severed floor
you guys need to watch bones and all
Fifth or sixth rewatch and I had a new thought. Was Irv's Dad trying to take down the company? And they killed him? So Irv got severed and is playing the long game to finish his father's work?
And it was on the day of the airing of this episode that Apple decided to renew the series. And that's why we've been waiting this long. They sent us into this show, KNOWING it had a cliffhanger.....but somehow didn't think to renew it, even though people were immediately hooked in. They had at least nine weeks to do that, if not before. So yes, the strikes got in the way but if Apple had renewed the series way earlier, we'd be watching Season 2 reactions right now, instead of waiting for its first episode. It's been so long now, I actually almost don't care! How could it be good? They're not the same actors anymore, they're older! Christopher Walken was 82...then! His character has to be written out immediately. See ya, Bert! All of these actors are tied to this thing and can't move along on their careers, it's got to suck. Ben Stiller is used to doing movies, now he's tied to this show for years. I hear he's not even directing most of the episodes this season. I'm hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. The good news is the show's creator had a master plan, he's not just making it up as he goes along so that's a promising thing. They're not just Twin Peaksing it.
On the other hand, they added Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development to the cast, and some other good names, I will admit that will hook me back in for sure. I want to know why Ricken and his friends are so weird! That's the biggest mystery of the show for me!
Day 108 requesting Penny Dreadful :)
And now you have to wait for season 2 with the rest of us!! One of the greatest finales I’ve watched in a long time.
I low key ship Mark and Helly. Obviously I hope that Mark and his wife are endgame. But I personally wouldn’t be mad if Mark and Helly end up being endgame.🙂
you guys heard she's an egan and not know her father is the ceo . how does that work
i hope burt is not his father, imagine ,thank you guys its my favorite show ,weve be waiting for so long for the next season, its gonna be excellent i am sure
I told yall this show was worth it…. Now watch Amelie
I don't want Dylan to die. 😢
Can't imagine that they'll keep him "alive". Like where does they go from here. There's no happy ending for them.
0:42 im sorry but PAUSE
LOL
i only really liked the Helly parts of this episode. the manufactured "suspense" of Mark needing to talk to his sister drove me crazy. Like, dude, you know this is urgent so just TALK to her and don't let people interrupt you. And Irv was pretty boring in this ep.
Are you mad? Like how innie Mark can trust that his sister would believe him and what’s the right time? And what’s the situation outside exactly how do people feel about lumon? How does she feel about it? I can name at least tens more. Tye episode was written perfectly.
