    I've watched this video a dozen times now and have it bookmarked. Similar techniques are used in videos by other artists, but your video is unbeatable at showing how it works. Studying this has helped me confidently take on sketches of public places, because adding a few people? No problem! And you demonstrate it in both ink and watercolor. I really appreciate this.     This is very helpful to me as I have rarely put full figures into sketches and paintings. Thank you very much. I didnt ever hear of the eye level method. I am teaching myself by watching other ;-)

    Hi Alena, I know that some persons work with the socalled "eye level". But in reality it does not work so easy. Let's say, a person is 180 cm high. So this is HIS eye level. All other persons with 180 cm height have their heads at the same height. Smaller people are deeper, and taller people are higher. Best example: a mother with her child. They walk hand in hand, and the child's eye level is below the mother's eye level. So only people with the same height are on the eye level of the beholder (drawer).

      Height, in millimeters, i suppose. So we see a man who's 2 meters tall and can calculate the statue height. Dont forget about the perspective.

      +El PutoAmo looks like a pentel aquash/aquabrush. I have one and i suggest the holbein waterbrush instead, but this one is good too

      Crl dcc It's filled with water for quick watercolor sketching, great for walking around with. I got mine on Amazon. I think the paint traveling paint box that she has here I got at Michael's.

    Interesting, how you have the figures lined up with your eye line. A similar method is used to orient multiple sails of boats on water against a background.
