How can you remember something as black and white? The poem was written quite some time before. So, colourful photographs were not available much.

There's nothing like camera or photos here , black and white is a metonymy for the things that have happened in the past and it contrasts the stark colours on the postcard actually. It's about the fading memories that he has of his homeland. It reflects the feelings and memories of the poet of his homeland that are gradually fading away.
