bensge1 welcome to the channel and thanks for the comment. Will be posting full Flying videos in a couple of weeks. I’m on my day job right now but when I get home we have some awesome flying planed
Aviator267 great. No worries about the delay, we all have to work on our day jobs. Is your day job airline flying? No worries if you’re not comfortable sharing with us
bensge1 thanks for understanding, yes I’m an airline pilot, no worries as this channel is all about sharing my Flying mainly for our kids but also other who are interest and dreaming of flight. So feel free to ask and if I can make a video.. it would be my pleasure 😇
Lengthy but good video, if I may add, the flying characteristics of this aircraft are phenomenal! Smooth and absolutely stable as well! A 915iS would be awesome!
Muhammad Moolla thanks for spending the couple of days with us and working on the engine. Was truly our please. We’ll work on doing more flights together and get your BlackShape rating sorted
GREAT! Super thorough... every time I had a question in my mind... You answered it!! I do have a request that you cover *LIGHTING and available lighting options!* I'm in the Los Angeles(USA) area which is extremely high traffic. In my opinion, lighting is a top safety requirement. If I had the ability, every plane I fly would glow like a UFO!!! LOL Keep up the excellent vids! Glad that I subscribed!
B Kreative glad you subscribed and commented... will include the lights in the next video in about 8 weeks when I get home. We need to do the. Oil change as we just finished the first 25 hours. Will make a video of that
Thank you very much for the very informative video. A beautiful aircraft and very well displayed, its very helpful to see the various aspects of the aircraft . Im glad to hear you can do a gravity drop on the gear. My flying club are considering the purchase a BSP in the next year or so. Keep up the videos, they are appreciated and no doubt your subs will soon increase. Im looking forward to seeing some of your flight trips and hearing about the BPS actual performance, fuel consumption, climb rate, glide ratio and all that good stuff. May I wish you both Happy Landings. Regards Chris from Ireland. Chalk up one more sub.
ufm10 xxl such a motivating comment, thanks. We forgot to show the gravity gear extension levers, there is one lever for each wheel under the display panel on the left side. We’re actually installing a fuel flow transducer to monitor fuel flow. This will be in the next video covering the oil change as we just finished her first 25 hrs. Ireland is amazing, I used to do my RJ85 training there at Aer Lingus and of course did the official tour of the Guinness brewery
hi guys well like I said before love the plane so much, lucky you two. but you both have worked hard for it. the avionics is cool as well and 100 lt tank you said 5 hours flying so 20lts an hour ,that is so cool. your get to places far and wide in that also like you said you would have your headsets on the seat and on your head when flying so lots of room behind the rear headrest. is your plane IMC certificated as its got all the toys on it. cannot what for your neat video. thank again.
ray 1 we really appreciated your comments. We’re so grateful to have #22 it was a real uphill push to get her. While I’m happy with the avionics package the BlackShape Prime 100 is not by design an IMC/IFR aircraft.. but through my relationship with BlackShape, they have provided an IFR package for us which is essentially the addition of an NAV/COM radio that would give it full IFR capability. The rest is a paperwork process with our local authority. We actually went fly after this as I was leaving for my 8 week duty the next day and wanted one last flight so we have some footage for another video although the audio failed.
Ah the AvroRJ85, Pure class and a nice pint of Guinness at the end of the day. Really enjoyed the unboxing and assembly video for your Blckshape. Was that a Samba XXL in the hanger ? I'm learning to fly on a Samba......thats why my name is UFM 10 XXL... Well it's Chris really.

That’s me at 90kg and Mel at .... xxkg 😂🥰🤪 But solo I can take full fuel and get 3.9 hrs 545nm/1010km at 75% or 4.3 hrs 597nm/1105km at 65% or 5.5 hrs 724nm/1343km at 55% All with 45min (0.6) reserve
Yes, Edge Performance can really make a 914 is come alive, so much so, that it outperforms a Rotax 915is by a significant amount. It requires a 914 doner, so just fly the shit out of your 914 until it is time for a complete rebuild…then have Edge Performance build the shit out of it.
I’m putting in an order for this aircraft on Friday. Mine will be burgundy, white with gold pin striping and a tan interior….UPDATE: changed my mind. An rv8 is faster, 6.5 hours endurance with Flymore tips, and cheaper.
Hi. Thanks for your comment and support. We have the long range tanks so it’s 100 liters in total with 50 liters per tank. Typically at 135kts we burn 20 liters per hour. We generally fly slower at 110 kits and burn 16-18 liters
S. Christopher Burford yeah it is basically a green house with canopy closed. So in summer we start canopy open and the prop wash really does well to cool things. When the canopy is closed and we’re taxing we do keep it open about 5cm or so and again the prop wash keeps us cool. We has have sun visors that stick to the canopy and in our next Flying video we will show that.
Good Morning, could you kindly tell us how is handling the crossiwind the Blackkshape Prime, I would say over 10 Kts, because I had the impression during some recent flights that the vertical tail is not so much effective. Thanks, Paolo.
Great Question... I'll have to keep updating dating you as i get more exposure on cross wind with the Prime. but i can tell you so far the rudder authority is adequate (more of a concern during stalls).. if anything the trouble i have is the aircraft weight is 600kg at max so say 500kg on average landing and gets pushed around in strong crosswinds and as the wings are very efficient and you really have to make small corrections or ride out the wave. Like I say we'll be doing more operational videos soon and I'll cover cross winds.. we just finished her first 25 hours and going to into service now. Thanks for the comment.
I will do also more flight soon and I will revert my feed back too, considering that I have only 6 hours on my BS Prime, but the last two landings with a crosswind of 14 Kts, was not so easy, confirming that are needed only small correction, but I am coming from the C 172 SP, that is quite different during take off & landings in a gusting crosswind. @@aviator267

I have never flown the shark even though I know about it. My main preference is this looks better, the visibility from the rear is good so I’m able to land the plane from the rear seat. Plus I also knew that the next generation BlackShape was coming and this was a good place to start then move to bigger BlackShape Gabriel.
@@aviator267 Thx. I was looking at the Shark and BlackShape. The performance specs look similar but a lot more expensive for the BlackShape. It does seem to have more room in the cockpit though.
Ictpilot Ictpilot you are very correct. The Prime with all options is just under €200k so the shark is less but also the production is different. For example the BlackShape uses more controlled and accurate pre-impregnated carbon fiber method vs wet layup of the Shark. I like the side stick control of the shark though. I do think the Shark is faster though.
@@aviator267 I think the speeds are about the same. As far as the one layup vs the other, both are good and safe. I've worked with both when I was at Beech Aircraft on the Starship program. I like the sidestick but having a little more room in the cockpit and sitting taller on the gear is nice.
