Neither candidate have a definitive plan to tackle this problem. You can build it, but they do not have to come. Any facility built will only encourage people to come to San Diego and take advantage of the new facility. No matter where you build this thing, it will always objections by the local community. Besides, building a facility and moving the people is no different than incarceration. It took 40 years to get where we are, there are no solutions to fix this overnight. 24 billion spent, nothing to show for it, except, it keeps the recipients of the money from becoming homeless. 🙏💪🎊🌎🌍❤️🇺🇸🖖
This is just a continuing of the same expensive problem! They need to make it so the homeless incur the expense then trade that for labor and housing! Then use the labor to finance the cost of the program by renting out the labor for brush removal for fire and other labor intensive jobs the city is responsible for! Road hole repair, clean up of trash at events and around, im sure we can cut costs and relieve the TAXPAYERS from most of the expenses give these citizens work, pride and a new start WITH OUT INSTITUTIONALIZING THE HOMELESS PROBLEM! 😊
You're kidding right? You expect the people out on the streets? In mental health crisis and addiction to do gonna do labor? They don't even clean up the trash around themselves.. This is the part people Don't Understand. 95% of the people on the streets will NEVER be able to work.. The drugs destroyed the part of the brain long after use stopped. That allows a person to follow directions and show up on time. It would be like Trying to herd feral cats. The part of the brain that allows normal people to do these things is destroyed. Permanently.
You are assuming that all the homeless don't choose to live that lifestyle. They dont want a trade, they would rather commit petty crimes to pay for their drugs
@@bottlethrower1544 dont give them the chance! Increase penalty untill hard time ! Or they can contribute to the common good with their labor ! The point is remove as much of the TAXPAYERS burden as possible and encourage no homeless on our streets ! If they can encourage you to drive slow or pay taxes all you have to do is change the value system of the barter ! Instead of cash you charge labor and freedom! 😉😁
I've been saying the old fry's electronics off of murphy , canyon road and the one off the seven Would be ideal shelters for homeless people to allow them to decompress and see what the next movie is going to be. Hell turn both of them into mental health hospitals. If the mental health aspect of this situation is not gonna be addressed then it's all money spent for nothing.
@@bottlethrower1544 Many are mentally ill but are allowed by society to make decisions for themselves with diseased brains or while suffering substance use disorder. This does not work for anyone.
I believe all the previous plans fell through. In an economy where businesses are closing, unless it was being turned into Condos or apartments.I don't see any businesses a capable of Inhabiting that large of a space. Especially not what the minimum wage the way it is And theft. It really should be turned into a mental health hospital. The laws need to change so that people can be under a conservativeship And they can be interned.
I don't like the idea of the mega shelter where the mayor is proposing it. However, Turner's idea of locating a shelter in Otay Mesa makes no sense. It would cost much more to provide services way out there.
Neither option is ideal. At least Gloria knows the geography of the city. Otay mesa does not have supporting health services to support a homeless system proposed.
Gloria’s policies are a $CAM!!
He's enriched a lot of his doners
How are we supposed to pay for this & the new migrant shelter..?

They don't want to go there? What do these people really want?
its a lifestyle, 98% choose it

Frys is spoken for but in an everlasting hold. The owners will not reveal what their plans are for the property.

The SDHC is a scam as well.. No accountability for anyone.. No receipts..
If this building moved forward, and opens, what is the plan to move the house less individuals to this new facility.

Too bad the mayor and council don't care about and work to take care of the real taxpayers and problems
