Hi jgearangler: total around 35 lbs for 2 hands. I like weapons so I had learned a lot of weapons forms for the past 40 years.I am now 61 and I think I have to finalize all what I have learned and pass down to the next generation.
This master teddy lai is good too . He trains hard strong too , with all those rings he ‘ s wearing . That ‘ s hung gar power & strenght . His taming the tiger form far out . Sifus simplify it for themselves . Good video .
Lai is young have strength and has a big brain, so he is now working as my record machine, one week one new form for him! But the form is recorded by section and section right after he learned.all these weapons forms are for my record purpose only.Lai has to working very hard for many years before he can manage all these forms! regards, alex
wow, imagine if you have weights in your hips and feet... powerful hands, force and root. Wow, its a total workout with just iron rings and kata here. 😯👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I realize that this is a very old video and I am unlikely to get a response, but were these iron rings only used for training purposes, or were they also used as weapons? Forgive my ignorance. I once saw a movie where a man used the iron rings while fighting. I just want to know if that was ever done in real life.
+Guardian I wouldn't think these rings can be practical weapon in reality. They are useless if you wear fewer than 5 on each arm, they don't even offer you enough protection. But if you wear full of rings like this master here, with each one weigh more than one pound, your speed will be significantly reduced, and this could leave you in deep shit situation. You can easily see how this master here struggles with so many rings on his arms. Well, Kungfu Hustle is mainly for entertaining purpose, many moves in that movie are only fiction. However, it is still a good movie, which delivers much satisfaction to general viewers.
+Fei Tcheng Thank you for the reply. That was the movie I was thinking of, and it was a great movie, but I guess you're right. the rings would significantly slow the user and they would be unwieldy.
@@guardian9394 Actually, the rings can be for training or practical, which really depends on the practitioner's strength. For example, if John Cena wears those rings, i don't think he will slow down too much. Also, the rings does not have to be heavy to be lethal. The heavy rings are used to improve arm strength, whereas in an actual fight, the rings they use are much smaller in diameter and thinner in the width so that it won't bounce around so much, and the point of the rings are not to be protective, but to turn the arm into a hammer, where as if you swing the arm to use the Tumbling chariot Fist, it would do greater damage. So titanium rings would be a greater choice then steel.
