If the guy talks too much, here's the break down 1. Current hack. 10%increase to motor 2. S2000 steering wheel 3. Clutch switch. Turns off charge assist, car runs in gas only mode. 4. Short shifter 5. Larger/different center rear view mirror 6. Center arm rest, from 6th gen civic 7. Different front /rear speakers 8. Window tint 9. Front/rear custom springs 10. replace drain plug with valve
Hi. Love these suggestions and will try some out. A: my oil pan drain plug was stripped recently. Repair place said I’d have to get a new oil pan and they aren’t cheap as they are specialized. Would this fumoto valve obviate the need for that?
If it's stripped I would think the right thing to do is get a new pan. Once that's done get a Fumoto valve and you'll never have to worry about it stripping again. Many people myself included to this as preventative care so it doesn't get stripped in the future.
Cool. Holler at me at puddleglum72(at)gmail(dot)com if you're serious, that way I'll have your contact info. I'm not selling it in the near future but I'll likely get another one to tinker on soon, and will sell them all eventually.

It's a 240 flat clip on rear view mirror w/blue tint, the exact product I bought isn't available any more but this one looks similar: www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-ICBEAMER-240MM-Flat-Blue-Tint-Interior-Clip-On-Rear-View-Mirror-Z160-/303821407340?hash=item46bd2ac46c
I have the Broadway 270mm convex mirror, I can recommend that one for sure. Can see out of the rear hatch as well as the side windows. No more blind spots!
Do you notice the current modification reducing the charge quicker? And if so, when recharging does it bump down your mpg slightly overall since I imagine it would charge more often?
I have noticed no difference. I've owned a car with a new 6.0 Ah battery and another with a new 8.0 Ah battery. No difference before or after the current hack in terms of charge reduction. For more info on this mod check out the discussion on insightcentral.net. In theory it would reduce the charge but only if it were constantly asked for full assist. That's not the case and that's not how I drive. And keep in mind the car is constantly regenerating so any reduced charge is being replenished. Just my .02.
This is the nicest 1st gen I have ever seen. Ty for sharing.
Do the K20 hack and optimize your smiles for gallon😂
Wow your car is in phenomenal shape I’m extremely jealous
Thanks I looked long and hard for it

@@gray25xt thank you!!! Will do. I’ve had two insights for 5 years and this gave me a lot of motivation to do some of these suggestions. Thanks again
What exactly did you do to the suspension? Make the springs shorter or softer?
Swapped rear springs for slightly larger and stronger ones. Raises rear by about 1.5" and gives it a much better/softer ride.
I’ve got ”MIMA” on mine!
Did I catch you saying the Bridgestone tyres are available.
Have they started making them again?
I've seen them on eBay and Amazon in the last few months, and bought a set.
Costco has a deal now until 4/13 for 4 RE92s installed for $345!
The stock wheel is so nice not sure why the swap would be worth it
The original steering wheels tend to degrade.
Insight is very clean. I'm also in GA. If you ever decide to sell please let me know. Thanks

I want to buy one but can't find a nice example 😕
Great video again. Do you have a link to the custom springs? I didn't catch Scott's surname. Thanks.
Scott Kulbeck, killer3cylinder@gmail.com, tell him Jeff sent you. Website is www.killer3cylinder.com/frontrear-springs.html.
@@gray25xt Perfect, thanks Jeff!
Scott also sells front and rear bolt on adjustable shocks. They are very nice addition to the car together with the springs!
@@rstolbov Cool. I'll have to check if he's willing to post to the UK.
Still need to get my Insight first!
where did you buy the parts and link the videos?

Could you throw a link for the mirror or a model of it please? I was just thinking about replacing the stock mirror with something else the other day.

I’ve got a g1 too! I’m interested in where you got your short throw? I’ve been looking for weeks and I can’t find one
Look over my videos I did one specifically on the short throw and I have info there on where to obtain it.
Love the video!!!
These are not easy to find. I guess the sales numbers didnt leave many for the market.
Where can we buy the springs?
look up killer 3 cylinder, he has a website
That didn’t look very slow!?? Not half bad all things considered
