- From Steve Pool: I will be watching the Super Bowl halftime show with heightened interest this weekend. The man on the stage is an old acquaintance of mine. You see many years ago I went to Hawaii to do a story on a young Elvis impersonator. I was told he had quite a future in the music business. Well, he was in fact precocious and quite talented. As cute as he is, it's kind of sad watching this. According to his interview in Rolling Stone a couple years ago, when he was 11, his parents divorced, his family lost everything and went through some hard times. His mom has passed now too. He deserves all the success he has now. I hope he enjoys it.

I hate it when some people try to discredit bruno's success right now by saying it's just because of good luck and a couple of hits, music is all he knows and he's been doing it since forever. He was born to do this.

Oahu, is my home and I would've liked seeing the entire program. Bruno's cousin lived six houses up from ours. It's so sad Bruno's mom didn't get to live long enough to see her son succeed. His parents gave their son the gift of teaching him the value if hard work ethics.
