- Last year September 2011 I had it almost ready but after a fast Taxi and a little hop it started leaking Fuel out of the new left Tank and the tacho needed to be displaced. now it performs real good. EGT and Cylinderhead Temps are all in the green.
Fantastic! Congratulations.
Nice little bird.
Way too much time before take off. Edit out the slow time.
I still enjoy flying the little Rans once a while , Put some patches on the Fabric where the UV coating started to peel of it still flys like a dream .I cant tell you where the tires came from they where already on it when I bought it .You might get them @ aircraft spruce . Here is a link to pictures I made on a flight this march I think. Had changed the tires to skis.

Depending how long you are you might find it very tight at first . I took the seat cushion all out and replaced it with seatbelt straps I sewed over the frame . And you have to slide down to a more forward position . Im 5ft 11"
WHAT IS THE PRICE THAT PLANE
Heeeeyyy my friend!!! Congrats it is a beautiful bird. I had one many years ago. The S-12 Airaile with 582 engine 2 strokes. Excellent brand from Randy.
3:12 take off
Whitehorse!? My sister lived there for 20 years.... Then back south to YVR. Misses WH.
That's just a wonderful kite you have there. Thanks!
Is it actually ultralight ? What's the weight
Heck, I wanted to see if he could get the darn thing back on the ground.
the landing is here. ua-cam.com/video/Tb03opbh8yA/v-deo.html
What goes up must come down.
That plane is soo cool!
nice aircraft, that big ole 503 muffler is hilarious, it weighs 11 lbs, a four stroke can actually run without a muffler and not die like a 2 stroke will as it needs a exhaust chamber to even run
I just have to say that a two cycle engine will run fine with a straight pipe, very noisy though. They just won't make quite as much power as they could with a properly designed expansion chamber. Been there, done that.
Very nice bird, had one, loved it,can’t beat a RANS.
Do you still have your S-4? If so how do you like it? and where did you get your oversized tires? Very nice plane,,,I am getting one in a couple of weeks and trying to learn all I can.
Bye Bye Fred, never to be seen again.
Is this an ultralight airpalne
Yes its an Ultralight in Canada , I think in the States ,too. With the new regulations you could not fly it with an Ultralight license because it was registered as homebuilt and has an F as first letter in the Mark .The new law says to be able to fly a plane with your canadian Ultralight license it has to have a letter I in the front of the mark . But I have a private licence so it does not matter to me.
Nice take off, engine sounds very smooth
Thank you , that was a long time ago .Last year I had problems with the engine ,it didn't die but it sputtered badly but smoozed out when reducing power . I got the carburetors and furl pump overhauled and will try it out soon again.
BEAUTIFUL PLANE AND PLACE.
Getting to know the plane one seater is assume.
Reminds me of Lobet Ganagobie
Nice job! Where was this video filmed?
Its in The Yukon , Canada near Whitehorse
Красиво!
Спасибо , I need info about Blanik in Russia , can you help ?
do you need a license for this in the us?
no 103 ultralight
Wheelinrigz thanks
You might not need a pilot's license out in the bush but even with one, I get nervous whenever I'm in controlled airspace.
No
