Good to see you're back into shape 🙂
Awesome guitar sound! You’re a true original and I always learn something when I watch your videos. Thanks and hope you’re doing well.
That's awesome Shane. Every time I decide to take a break from building you inspire me to jump back in. I need to add this one to my other 45 builds.
just made a cbgitty order yesterday! if i'd seen this sooner i would've added this. there's always next time tho. great stuff, as always shane
...ain't no dill, pickel
We spent the weekend in Warsaw with lots of great people. Excellent in every way!
Starting this build TODAY! Love it. Everything I know about CBG, I learned from Shane Speal.
I built one after watching you play the open air pub gig and it was fantastic. Great fun.
Love this! Sounds fantastic! I may have to try building one someday after learning to play.
And now I have to build one. What an awesome chugger!
Fantastic! Can't wait to build one. Thank you for posting, Shane.
Man, right up my alley! I built mine last year using a violin body, fretless 27" scale and a rod and disc piezo with the original idea of a stick dulcimer. I recently restrung it with heavier strings to EBe, love the baritone sound and while I love the sound, it's not there yet. More "fine tuning" to go, but that's the fun of these things. The next one will be more of the same but with a resonator and Gittybucker.
Glad that you are back. Might have to order a set of those strings. They sound so cool.
Thanks for the inspiration Shane. After enjoying this video I went out to my shop, found what I needed, some of it under 30 years of dust, and built one out of what I had lying around. It took me 3 days to get it together not 3 hours but you are right, it's a lot of fun. Having a different load of junk in my saved items than you do my guitar is of course different from yours. My wife calls it my Flintstone guitar. If you are interested in seeing a pic of an original Shane Speal inspired guitar I would proudly send one to the email address of your choice. Cheers
YES! shanespeal@yahoo.com! Also send a description of parts used. I’ll make a blog over at PoorMansGuitar.com
Some primal grind in there! gotta have a Baritone in yer rack!!🤟🏽 I’ve got a 28.5” scale fretless with the same gauges that sounds awesome in drop B?
That guitar sounds incredible Shane. Awesome!
I got a 24" I run .050/.038/.028 tuned to drop D (open D) now thinking I need a 27" scale 👍👍
That set my fillings to vibrating! Did you use tuners with longer posts or just shave the handle down? Looks like you're feeling better, thankfully!
Cool guitar! I‘d like a Del Pucket Shirt as well! 😎
Brilliant! I wish you had talked about the Nut. What is it etc.
With such a long scale length is it difficult to find strings long enough?
Dude! That's the BOOMSTICK guitar! LOL
very cool
This is going to be my next build but I love to know how you made it with some detail, I can't figure out from the video, what is going on with the nut, what is it?
Is there a reason you wouldn't use a piece of flat poplar from my local box store to make a neck as apposed to the oak shovel handle?
That is nucking futz…gave me bumps
Dude, that riff at about 1:40...was that the Zoo from Scorpions? If not, it needs to be! You should cover that song
i think ill have to build one of them bad boys
I'ma build one!
What is the riff at 56 seconds from?
Awesome
I see a Pit Bull With Rabies build in my future :)
Djent on, dude! Djent on!!
What a trencher!
hallo 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
I love it man, I've been experimenting with baritone builds alot lately, and my main box is a Resobaritone tuned c#g#c# at 26in. Scale length. Everyone who has had the chance to hear it played loves it and can't believe how simple it is to play. Between yourself and Mr. Puckett being my biggest influencers, building, learning, and playing pulled me from dark period n my life. Thank you truly for the inspiration. It's changed my life.
Videos?
Somebody should start building these and selling them for like 80 dollars, that way kids who want to get into rock can actually afford them.
