I had just won a drawing for an inflatable raft at a local gas station. My Dad and I were leaving to go pick it up when my mother drove up. This song was playing on her radio. "Where are you going?" She asked. I laughed and answered "Where the ocean meets the sky, I'll be sailing." 🌊⛵🛶🐟🐟 Fondly remember the raft and this song. 😊
Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing this music video. It draws a whole new meaning behind the lyrics. This brought tears to my eyes. My husband is a Navy vet. We may not have met when he was in the service, but we did meet years after. He is and always will be my hero. Thank you for your service to those men and women who served for our country! A huge thank you to my beloved husband.
My dad passed away when in 1989 of cancer when he was 34 years old. My mom was left a single mom in a foreign country with me, age 3. After two years of grieving, raising me, and working 45 hours a week on her feet for min wage, she managed to save enough money to buy herself a brand new car, which happened to be a ‘91 Pontiac Sunbird. That summer she and I embarked on our first mother-daughter adventure, we drove 14 hours across the country in that car and this song was one of the number one songs of that summer. Every time I hear this song it brings a tear to my eye! Thanks Mom!
In 1991 I was servicing computers in an insurance office. In one cubicle worked a young lady. She had a framed picture of her husband on her desk, wearing a flight suit and posing beside a military helicopter. Then, this song came on the radio. She started singing along to it, rocking her head in rhythm. It was a moving experience, and tears well in my eyes to this day just remembering it.
My all time favourite song of Rod Stewart. My son is in the military here in Canada. He did 2 tours in Afghanistan. So thankful he made it home. He deals with PTSD.

Beautiful song. I sadly lost my Dad and best friend a few days ago. This is the one song I've chosen as his farewell song and know i'll struggle holding it together but it brings back the fondest memories of our holidays driving up to Scotland with me looking at the beautiful surroundings and Dad singing this at the top of his lungs from the drivers seat. He was a huge Rod Stewart fan, can't think of a single piece of music that reminds me of him as much as this does

I, also have a story with my mother and this song. I guess it was 1991, and my mother was visiting the United States. I took her on a trip to Lake Tahoe. At the hotel, I heard this song and I just fell in love with it. I took my mother on the tour of the lake on the paddle boat and had the meal on the boat where we met a couple from New Zealand. The song, the boat the Water, the company and Lake Tahoe, it just makes all sense. My mother since then died from Alzheimer, I am very glad I was able to spend that valuable time with her.
I asked my bartender to add this into the mix tonight. She did. When it reached the chorus the whole house sang along. It restored some of my faith in humanity.

I lost my grandmother in 2011 and my grandfather just turned 81. I spent a lot of my childhood and youth with them. Both loved Rod Stewart and played this song all the time when I was growing up. So this song holds very dear memories for me. I love them both dearly.
This song goes out to the best friend I ever had, my dog Hunter, he had lightning in his veins. He literally saved my life once, and I don't mean "I'd have stuck a gun in my mouth if it wasn't for him" kind of saved my life I mean he literally saved my life. RIP my little buddy, I'll be seeing you again one day where the ocean meets the sky...
@Elizabeth Zago Spanjer He was the most fearless dog, or any creature man or beast, that I've ever come across in my life, he was a cross between a full size Australian Shepherd and a miniature one, so he wasn't the biggest dog in the world at 45 lbs but he was afraid of absolutely nothing, he took off after a Bull Mastiff once that was just trotting down the beach towards us simply because we were playing with a frisbee and I think that dog just wanted to play with us since it's owner's, who'd been playing frisbee with it, had gone into the water for a swim, but Hunter just didn't like that he was coming towards me and he took off after that thing fangs out and ran it back up the beach and that dog was a good two and a half to three times his size. He battled it out one time with an Osprey that landed in our backyard with a fish to eat and Hunter ran over and after tearing into that monstrous bird took it's fish off of it and was running around the yard flinging it up in the air taunting it while the Osprey had flown up to a tree branch and sat there watching the whole thing screeching in protest. He was all about protecting me and our home, the story about him saving my life a bit long to tell here but I will tell you this about him, he spent every night no matter how bad the weather laying on the front porch surveying the yard looking for threats, we had a very large yard around the house and he constantly stood vigil over the property, that's what makes me think about him when I hear this song, the line "Never will I roam, for I know my precious home...", that and the line "I've got lightning in my veins", boy he sure did. I've had, and still do have other dogs and I love them all to death but Hunter and I had a connection that's the kind of thing that comes along once in a lifetime, the people that knew us all saw it and used to comment on it, he even used to "flea" me with his front teeth the way dogs do it to themselves, he'd go all through my hair and beard doing it. I buried him with my medals from the Army, because it's like I've told people "He deserved them more than I do, if I've ever in my life come across a single creature with the heart of a soldier it was that dog".
My mother’s favorite Rod Stewart song. She passed from cancer in 08. But I imagine this song playing when I die and get to be with her again. God, what a Blessed day that will be. Until we meet again, this song makes me feel like she is still here with me.
I deployed to England during Desert Storm, this song helped me make through my tour while missing my wife and son. Thanks Rod, you made it easier for me to cope with the loneliness.
The rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum... That reminds you of the first time I kissed the girl who became my wife 37 years ago. I thought I was having a heart attack with how hard and fast my heart was beating. It felt like my body was tingling from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. That beautiful girl is still making my heart flutter.
Oh, the rhythm of my heart Is beating like a drum With the words, "I love you" rolling off my tongue No, never will I roam For I know my place is home Where the ocean meets the sky, I'll be sailing
When I was only 3 years old, I heard this song at my aunt's house while she was babysitting me. She had it on a cassette tape and after hearing it the first time, she said it was as though I was entranced by it. She said that I listened to it over and over again for the rest of the day. She couldn't get me to do anything else that day. When she dropped me off at home with my parents she told them about it and since I liked the song so much, she gave me the cassette before she left. Between that day and a couple years later when I started kindergarten, my parents had bought that cassette twice because I'd literally play it until the cassette was physically played out. I honestly don't know what it was about this song that mesmerized me even at such a young age. I've never been affected by anything to the same degree since then. I'm 35 now and the song has taken on an almost reverential place in my heart. I almost never listen to it, because it affects me too much, but I love it.
Consider the possibility of it triggering a previous life memories, especially since it kicked in so fast at such a young age. Unlikely, but you never know
@@stevehenry1 I don't know if I believe in the theory of past lives. I mean, I'm not arrogant enough to make any emphatic statements one way or the other. I just don't know. However, there are certainly many strange and inexplicable phenomenons that make you wonder at the possibilities.
Used to sing Rod Steward songs as a young boy in primary school unaware I was being noticed, one day my grand mother said to me someone is in love, I blushed and continued singing...may she continue to rest in power
5 years ago, we lost Mum. She was a big fan of Rod’s and even though I never knew this song to be her favourite (I think his cover of Downtown Train was), the melody and rhythm makes a suitable anthem for her 👍👍 I made sure it was played at her funeral, along with her most favourite song “Kiss from a Rose”.
I watched Loch Ness (1996) the other day, and then I heard this on the radio at work today, and it was like "HOL' UP" Disappointed to learn that it didn't originate from the movie and give it some sort of lasting claim to fame
Today i found myself missing my father. He was nothing special to the world he is just another statistic but to me he was the world. Till we meet home dad where the ocean meets the sky i love you lots

A truly great man. When I was 11 my school took us on the Boston field trip... Which included Quincy's market. My friends and I went to get something to eat, but the restaurant was closed because every seat had been bought out. I was mischievous. So we climbed up the back stairs. He was kind and gracious... Even though I was just some punk kid.
This beautiful song has special meaning when you listen it twenty kilometres from the front line in Ukraine and you hear the sounds of the battle. Glory to heroes fighting for freedom and democracy!
I live half way across the world away from my parents and I remember them everyday I hear this song as they kept all their Rod Stewart records near our "stereo" and played them every morning as my siblings and i got ready for school. I miss my parents and can't wait to visit them someday soon.❤❤
Omfg!!! Yes I found it. I’ve been looking for this song for 25 years. Every since I had a dream with this song in it as a child. I couldn’t find it by lyrics because I couldn’t remember the lyrics. I had a hunch the other day as to who the singer was, and that hunch finally paid off.

This song came out right before my father passed away from heart failure of his own. He was 40. He hand my mom had just started working on getting back together again. He died on his first day on his new job after moving back home. I've made it to 48. I've already lived 3 years longer than the doctor expected me to. This brings back memories of me being a teenager in Nigeria wearing out the cassette tape of my father's rock collection playing this song over and over and over. Sometimes when we the electricity was out, which could run anywhere from several hours to days even, I'd play it on the car stereo and run the car battery down sometimes. This song and stairway to heaven.

The sorry bastards won’t take care of our own war veterans & it sickens me!! 🙏❤️
Me....Being of First Generation Scottish American, I am so very proud as are my amazing daughter and my awesome son and now my precious grandchildren are also proud of their heritage. Been to Bonnie Scotland many, many times and have dear family there🙏🙏❤️❤️
I lost my grandmother in 2011 and my grandfather just turned 81. I spent a lot of my childhood and youth with them. Both loved Rod Stewart and played this song all the time when I was growing up. So this song holds very dear memories for me. I love them both dearly.
How I feel about the world fighting with each other you can find me sailing home to the place I love with people who feel the same for me
This song goes out to the best friend I ever had, my dog Hunter, he had lightning in his veins.
He literally saved my life once, and I don't mean "I'd have stuck a gun in my mouth if it wasn't for him" kind of saved my life I mean he literally saved my life.
RIP my little buddy, I'll be seeing you again one day where the ocean meets the sky...
@Elizabeth Zago Spanjer
He was the most fearless dog, or any creature man or beast, that I've ever come across in my life, he was a cross between a full size Australian Shepherd and a miniature one, so he wasn't the biggest dog in the world at 45 lbs but he was afraid of absolutely nothing, he took off after a Bull Mastiff once that was just trotting down the beach towards us simply because we were playing with a frisbee and I think that dog just wanted to play with us since it's owner's, who'd been playing frisbee with it, had gone into the water for a swim, but Hunter just didn't like that he was coming towards me and he took off after that thing fangs out and ran it back up the beach and that dog was a good two and a half to three times his size.
@Elizabeth Zago Spanjer great song please check out Rod Stewart - Never a Dull Moment Album Review on my channel
I went to see Rod Stewart in London's earls court , he sàng Baby Jane and looked at me and smiled x💕@Elizabeth Zago Spanjer
My dear Nan loved this man...always singing and dancing to the music 🎶❤️
Rip my dearest nan.... thanks for the memories 😁
My mother’s favorite Rod Stewart song. She passed from cancer in 08. But I imagine this song playing when I die and get to be with her again. God, what a Blessed day that will be. Until we meet again, this song makes me feel like she is still here with me.
Sorry for your loss. Some day we will all be together again.
God bless

I deployed to England during Desert Storm, this song helped me make through my tour while missing my wife and son. Thanks Rod, you made it easier for me to cope with the loneliness.
“When the ocean meets the sky, I’ll be sailing” - that’s enough to bring a tear to my eye in hard times
I just lost my mom to covid. She loved Rod Stewart. I played this at her funeral. RIP Momma.
Sorry for your loss. The memories will be with you forever. God bless. 🙏
Sorry for your loss
Aww very sorry for your loss :( and great song choice your dear mum had good taste of music :) God bless you and stay safe girl
Hi Tricia. Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss 🌹
The power of music. Everyone has a memory attached to a song that speaks to them all.
Oh, the rhythm of my heart
Is beating like a drum
With the words, "I love you" rolling off my tongue
No, never will I roam
For I know my place is home
Where the ocean meets the sky, I'll be sailing
Hey
Moving...
Thanks for watching, liking and listening to my songs, Thanks for your love♥️ and moral support. I hope you have been well entertained over the years?
Consider the possibility of it triggering a previous life memories, especially since it kicked in so fast at such a young age. Unlikely, but you never know
@@stevehenry1 I don't know if I believe in the theory of past lives. I mean, I'm not arrogant enough to make any emphatic statements one way or the other. I just don't know. However, there are certainly many strange and inexplicable phenomenons that make you wonder at the possibilities.
I was deployed to 🇸🇦 and 🇰🇼 during the 1st Gulf War around the time this song was playing...always brings me back when I hear it...beautiful song...

One of my Favorite Rod Stewart song. The Rythm of my Heart. What a beautiful song…♥️♥️♥️
Bless you....🙏😄🤗 xx
He just got better and better. Grew up on his music and it’s still great today! No one quite like Rod Stewart ❤
He can do no wrong! All Rod is all great for all decades!

He does get better...more sophistication and style
same. mom ha all the records. forever young is my cats in the cradle.
I watched Loch Ness (1996) the other day, and then I heard this on the radio at work today, and it was like "HOL' UP"
Disappointed to learn that it didn't originate from the movie and give it some sort of lasting claim to fame
Today i found myself missing my father. He was nothing special to the world he is just another statistic but to me he was the world. Till we meet home dad where the ocean meets the sky i love you lots

I am sorry for your loss May his memory be cherished forever. We saw Rod live on Monday this week in California . My British 60+ years old husband never saw him live but loves him to bits as well. It was so magical for us to watch and listen to this legend.
Her Majesty The Queen 👸🏻 passed away 😢.....and I can't stop listening to this Rod. RIP Elizabeth.....we will surely miss you.....
Nothing gets me moving more than a Rod Stewart song like this !!!! I feel his music deep down in my soul and nothing gets me dancing quicker then to listen to The genius of rods beautiful music!!!!!!! I just love to dance and sing along with him! RM.
Im just gonna leave this comment here so whenever someone likes or comments Ill be reminded of this awesome song.

This beautiful song has special meaning when you listen it twenty kilometres from the front line in Ukraine and you hear the sounds of the battle. Glory to heroes fighting for freedom and democracy!
May the good Lord Bless you and all of Ukraine-you shall prevail-good will win out over evil. You are not forgotten! Stay strong.

I wouldn't mind another 100 years more but I will graciously accept as many as I get.
Hang in there-things will get better for you. Think positive. Best wishes.

Great to meet a fellow country man that loves Rod Stewart passionately like me. I grew up listening to his jams on my uncle's Kenwood stereo. Boy! 😁
I see my co naija brothers. Loving 80s rock
Whenever I hear this song and especially the line "Ohh i got lightning in my face" i remember my dad's dark brown eyes which were staring at the wall of the hospital room when this song was played in his little radio. That was 12 years ago and that's how long it's ago that my dad went to heaven 💔
I miss and love you so much dad ❤️
PS: my 2 year old son got your dark brown eyes 🤎
