I'm still a young collector... When I first started out I got 2 amazon ones and their vinyl. Then just last year when this video was made I got an Ashton Drake doll. I'm looking for a affordable silicone. And this video helped a lot with the Facebook tip!
She’s beautiful! She reminds me of my two youngest children, who are adults now. I truly miss holding my babies! I have 4 Ashton Drake newborn girl dolls. 3 of them are the “Truly Real” soft babies. I think they are about 15 years old and they look brand new. I’m currently researching so I can purchase my own “Dream Baby “. Thank you for giving advice on how to find a real baby doll!

Thank you for all these pieces of advice. It's true that when we arrive in this "new world", we see the videos of collectors who already have had many reborns and a few silicones. And it's a dream ! We are children in a toy shop, we want everything. When you can afford buying all the dolls, clothes and accessories you want, it's cool but i don't know if it's better than having to wait, save money, search, find good pieces of advice like yours. 😉 Because the longer you expect, the more you enjoy your first silicone baby or reborn.
It's been 1 year since i began to hope i would have my own reborn or silicone baby.
As soon as i've had enough money, i purchased an Ashton Drake part silicone baby and i love her. Now, as i already told you, i'm saving money to purchase my first true reborn (it's longer than i thought) and i'm sure that the box opening is gonna be a wonderful moment. Even if there are not many goodies. Even if there is just the baby, to be honest 😊, i'll be soooo happy.

I got my first baby from a yard sale-
I didn’t realize he was a reborn until 3 years later, my cousin had ripped of his arms and I was heartbroken 🥺 he’s a cloth miniature baby he had rooted hair and he just looked so real
My 2 sets of twins, I got off of Amazon they are really cute however they are very stiff and when they were exposed to black clothing and started to look really gray and lifeless 😔 so everyone never hold your baby or store you baby in a darkly colored blanket because mine were ruined 😓
And I got another beautiful baby from a swamp meet(basically an outdoor thrift store with multiple different sellers) he is the most beautiful out of all of them he has shining blue eye and beautiful blonde rooted hair and he smells like vanilla I only paid 40 dollars for him and he is gorgeous✨

I've been obsessed with reborns since I was around 5. I watched a reborn unboxing and pretended to do them by myself. I got my first "reborn" Last year and it was scam so I'm buying another from somewhat else:)

Now we have to be very careful who the silicone doll comes from. I know that for a fact since I have been scammed on a silicone doll.

Silicones are not usually able to be purchased through a website. If this is your first, I would recommend the Ashton Drake silicones.

Thank you for some wonderful info , I have a preemie silicone little boy but I'm looking to get a full size newborn silicone baby girl. And had no idea how to get a more affordable baby. If you buy the kit how do you go about finding an artist to paint for me if I've only been a collector for about 4 years.
You need to do your research on silicone artists, but a couple that I know of are Cat Johnson and Cheri Ziegra. But there are so many - the best way to research is with the silicone facebook groups.

I would like to say, I don't have an option of going for more preferred reborns, silicone s or not....I was unable to have children so when I saw that these dolls were coming into the market, I was soo excited to try to collect one, maybe two but that wasn't to be either and then you and maybe similar channels take it for granted that others can either afford or save..... I would never be able to save enough for these dolls, even though I would give my hight teeth to have one.....I'm not saying for one minute that you are not a nice lady but I think it's a little insensitive to assume that others are also in your obviously "comfortable" lifestyle. I watch all the videos and see you all with your beautiful dolls and I know, without doubt just as I know I would never have kids, I will never afford one of these precious dolls.

Hi Tanya, I didn't mean to assume that everyone is in a position to afford these dolls or dolls in general. I will say that this is a very expensive hobby and doll collecting in general is a luxury not a necessity. But on the relative scale, a silicone baby that costs in the $1000-2000 range is inexpensive compared to those that are in the 10,000+ range. It's all relative, but you're right -- these dolls are very expensive, no doubt about it.

Have you ever photographed all your babies all together, it would be great to see them. I just love you babies, they are so sweet. I love the silicone dolls look but I would be to scared to buy one cause as you were saying they are very expensive and tricky to take care of them, reborns are easier for me.
I did do a collection video not too long ago, but I cannot fit all the reborns and silicones together into one video so I did one just with my silicones. I am missing one of my reborns (who is getting fixed) so I was hoping to get her back before doing a reborn collection video. Quite a few collectors do prefer reborns over silicones because of the easier maintenance so you're not the only one who feels that way. xoxo

I have a kimbry silicone which I love him and a partial silicone Ashton drake Gabrielle....but I want a newborn size girl silicone with rooted hair..... but they are expensive. I’ll get one in the future. I’ve sent messages to an artist for a kit cost and a rooter and painter and i could get the kit and have it painted and rooted for like $2100. That’s a lot but it’s worth it. You actually named the painter and rooter...Cheri

Weebee babies is another sil artist I’ve found via Facebook and dollsandkoe on Instagram. But koe is on hiatus until late spring 2021. There’s Mrs d from sugar britches nursery. She’s high end price tho. She’s on fb. And has a long waitlist. She sculpt pours paints and roots. All her works. She stix to her list too. So don’t be pushy lol. With all artists be polite. Manners go a long way loves 💕💕💕💕💙💙💜Baltic babies has really nice blank kits too. $1000 range.

Are the Ashton drake dolls actually silicone or vinyl ? It would help a lot if you replied
They are usually vinyl, but the silicones are solid silicone for arms and legs and silicone covered over a foam core for the head.

They range in price, but several thousand dollars. If the price is too low, it's usually a scam. Be careful!

There aren't really websites. The best thing is to research silicone doll artists and join Facebook groups. Most artists sell directly on Facebook or Ebay.

I would love to have a baby, unfortunately my so and I can’t seem to conceive after almost 2 years... I would love to have a doll that feels like a real baby I think it would make me feel a bit better! Trying to save is so hard these days.
Depending on how realistic of a doll you want, you could also get an Ashton Drake or Paradise Galleries doll for now just to have a doll to cuddle, hold and dress and keep saving towards a more realistic reborn or silicone. Good luck! xoxo
