  • After a relatively staid first round of polls, the campaign for Lok Sabha 2024 has caught fire with the Congress’ ‘snatch & distribute’ wealth pitch. PM Modi lashed out at the opposition, even citing a speech made by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to drive home his point. The controversy escalated with Indian Overseas Congress chairman Sam Pitroda seemingly pitching for a U.S.-like inheritance law in the country. Will the Congress’ desperate plea to appease the minority community earn the political dividends? Will India’s voters buy into Congress’ election pitch? Watch the latest episode of Hindustan Times’ Point Blank for the details.

under Modi, the gap between India and China widened, in 2014, India GDP was $2 trillion, China was $10 trillion, difference is $8 trillion, in 2023, India GDP is $3.73 trillion, China is $17. 7 trillion, the difference is $13.97 trillion
100 years ago, China was like India: poor and backward. Despite being hailed as the first democracy in Asia and the world's largest democracy, these titles did not change anything for China. Instead, China was bullied by Western powers and invaded by Japan. The most advanced intellectuals in China at the time, represented by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and others, came to realize that Western-style 'democracy' would never work for China. They saw the path of Russia's 1917 revolution as the only way for China's future. They fought for it and founded the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949. Since then, China has been on the right path for the country and has emerged as a true superpower in the world.
Indians may not believe it and may not realize that their world's largest democracy is just a name with no real use. However, since India will not undergo an overall revolution like China did, India will never catch up with China. It is not a matter of Congress or BJP; there is no difference, and neither will work. this country, therefore, has no future, no hople
