So he goes back and forth korea chicago often. Can you imagine how expensive that would be? Obviously sm didnt pay for it. Must with his or parent money. Taeyeong, yuta and doyoung's parent still mystery but onviously their perent have stabil income. Doyoung brother is actor too. Ten is very very rich. Just for his hobby snowboarding, he goes to swiss often. Kun rich as well. He has owned espensive branded stuff since trainee days, like prada backpack. That’s how luxury pieces that are irl really hard to obtain are usually common amongst idols with good companies/stylists with connections.
However any accessories/bags (even some clothes) that they wear repeatedly are likely items they purchased or gifted to them by fans/actual sponsors. One example is Doyoung’s Valentino bag he carries a lot. Hope this explains how it works :)

Even if they don’t own it at that moment, they can probably buy it if they WANT to. And oh, majority of them auditioned to SM not because of wanting to earn money, but because they JUST wanted to fulfill their dreams (special mentions: MARK, HAECHAN, TEN, TAEIL, JOHNNY, LUCAS, CHENLE, JISUNG, YUTA, more). Back then company really strict to their rookie artist, but now even another company not just SM allowing their artist to having a phone, give a proper meal and dormitory, but now times is changing and a lot of agencies began to care about the welfare of their artist, so does SM. Back then a big group lived in one house and cramped, doesnt have a phone for about the first 2 or 3 years of their carreer, poor meal, etc but now even a rookie can have a latest phone, eat good meal and having a nice dormitory.
