Will you do a "shop tour" type video showing your new facility, equipment, and satellite locations? It would be really cool to see your new operation, and of course to see some flying! 🛩 Keep up the good work, showing the public that crop spraying is not the evil it is often portrayed as, is an important part of your videos.

Whilst action shots are entertaining, commentary videos are really important so we can fully understand "The whole picture". Great to see you guys up & about. Congratulations on the acquisition of your business, way to go! Owning any type of business can be very stressful as I see you guys are finding out. Toss in the fact that you are SO dependent on the weather and its ever changing conditions, that just adds to the fun. Thanks for the update, I was just thinking about you guys the other day while I was trucking across Missouri, “hmm, haven’t seen or heard anything about them in a while, hope they’re okay…” so I’m glad to see that you are. Looking forward to seeing your next video, fly safe! 👍

@AgAviationAdventures In my late teens, I work 3 months. Living out of oir truck. This was exciting. Being around air planes was awesome. Even though we used AgCats their don't hold a candle to the 50 pluse year old planes. I work for another other companies and around Stearmen's and NENs. Congrats, Calli, for your private pilot certificate. Does this mean they're Computation ? Getting another airplane?
I’ve always been so fascinated with flying and crop dusters specifically. I am not a pilot but would like to get my license. I’m 52 and not sure if it’s too late . Thoughts ?

Y’all should make a video on the viral clip of the duster buzzing semi’s in Indiana. Could also give some good info to drivers on backroads, main roads, and major highways that see a duster making runs
Ahhh we will see about that. It's unfortunate that that is the kind of stuff that goes viral but that's how it is. For sure, and we agree. There could be some information on the web about what not to do when you see a crop duster working.
Happy to see you guys again, The Thrush looks awesome a friend of mine flew them for years. Larry Harden (Cornhusker Ag Aviation) started with Thrushes with the old round engines and had them converted to Garretts, I will all ways love the sound of them. Good Luck, wish you the best of luck, keep up the good work. See you on the next one.
It’s so good to hear from you guys!!! Been thinking about you two. I thought from the sneak peeks when you first told us about buying the business that you would be flying a Thrush now. I hope they treat y’all well!!! I’m originally from Lubbock which isn’t too far from where the AT is built, so I’m a little biased but I know you’ll whip her (the Thrush) into shape. Congrats again Cally on your PP ticket!! Oh yeah, I can tell you from experience and owning a business now for 21 years, that there’s always ups and downs. But there is something very satisfying about being responsible for your own company. It’s kind of like raising a kid that NEVER stops growing or moves out. 😂😂😂 Oh, and don’t forget to live and enjoy each other along the way. The journey is what it’s all about anyway. Ok, ok…..old fart getting of his soapbox now. ❤ 🤠👍
I was ag pilot in south Georgia for 25 years very small fields with houses and 150 ft trees trees on the end of 1500ftsinwath run and did I mention the high tension wires on going through the field, I flew Cessna188, at301 and at402 all brand new at purchase. I could fall asleep spraying those fields that people out there where you guys work, here most fields average 25 acres and oh nearly forgot most have pivots somewhere in the field. I like watching your videos
Ok, two questions for you... Love your videos by the way, very fascinating. I couldn't do this job, I don't pay attention well enough. 1. Have you ever dusted the wrong field? 2. This profession is a little more dangerous than many others. How do you cope with the danger? Have you ever bumped anything with your plane that you shouldn't have? thanks!
Thanks for watching! I have never sprayed the wrong field where it was my fault. When it has happened it’s because the grower gave us the wrong one to be sprayed. And I hit a dead tree limb once with the wing and did quite a bit of damage to it.
I figured as much, getting a new business going, heck even keeping an old business going is a lot of work! It's all good, I believe you'll make it. UA-cam is a side line for you guys, don't sweat it, we'll be here. It will be interesting to get Tyson's take on the thrush. Think I remember you saying you have two correct?
Curious about the control forces between the air tractor and the thrush. I have always heard the thrush has heavier control forces. Also what engine do you like better, the Pratt and Whitney or the Garret? I call the Garret the human dog whistle on the ground due to its howl......lol...
how do you like the garrett ? and what determines which direction the prop turns, because depending on model or application, they may spin clockwise, or counterclockwise . thanks
😊 when I GM’d a business in IL, if we ever had herbicide to do the next day I told the pilots to sleep in and I would see them at 8am (instead of normal 5-6).When I got up I would get out and try to spot any inversions hanging over the river valley. If I couldn’t see anything and still wasn’t sure I would go start a little bon fire to track the smoke. If all else failed and I still couldn’t tell whether there was an inversion then we would just wait to start spraying until late AM like 10 ha 😊. Temp inversions are crop dusters nightmare if your spraying herbicide near sensitive crops. For example , if you have herb to do near a tobacco field, you better be darn sure the Chem is going straight down otherwise you’ll probably end up buying that tobacco farmers entire crop ! I know you guys prob don’t have a lot of Tobacco farmers near by but the lesson I learned in KY came to mind when you guys talk about the herbicide work. I miss being in the industry if you can’t tell ha.
You guy's are great. I tried for my private but I encountered three schools that just tried to get more money out of me. And I was warned about that going in and now I'm out of money and no rich dad. I want to crop dust so badly.
Save some money up? Saying that you “don’t have a rich dad” makes it sound like you think everyone who gets through has a rich parent that pays their dues which is absolutely not the case. Work harder, save harder. If you want it bad enough you’ll work for it.
Whats the reason for exhaust coming out so far back and towards the hopper? I've never saw that. Also, with the 'screaming garrett', is it harder on callie loading you w that loud engine screaming the whole time?
Thrush with the Garrett will have the big exhaust on one side. Thrush with a PT6 will have smaller exhaust on both sides (same with ATs, as they are PT6 engines). I think?
@@AgAviationAdventures The PT-6 is a reverse flow turbine, with the combustion air coming in the back of the engine and exhausting out the front. That is the reason for the exhaust exiting very near the propeller. The Garrett, on the other hand, is a direct drive, more normal turbine engine. Combustion air enters the front of the engine and exits the back.
