Just a quick update, all the opinions expressed in today’s video still stand, however, after trying to build up the foundation/concealer for more coverage on day 3, I noticed the product transferring and lifting like crazy. Because of that, if you’re wanting anything other than sheer-light coverage, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s beautiful as light coverage, but a bit messy if you try and get anything more. Hope that’s helpful xxx

After watching several beauty gurus rave over the Merit Solo eyeshadows, I took the plunge and bought 2 complete with the eyeshadow brush. This is probably the most expensive eyeshadows I’ve ever purchased. I can honestly say they’re the worst shadows I’ve ever bought. They’re very drying, especially on mature eyes. The colour payback is minimal and they disappear extremely quickly. All in all a very bad purchase! 😊😢

To pay you back, I have found that the Ulta Matte Cream eyeshadow in Game Over is a great one and done and is primer and shadow in one!
I am 70, tried the foundation stick for the first time this week. I am a luxury buyer, have tried everything from Chanel, Cle de Peau, Chantecaelle, La Mer, Valmont, you get the picture. Merrit stick foundation I absolutely love the best. Stunning. Natural. Beautiful. Youthful. Very reasonable price. And I love it as a concealer. Doesn't crease and coverage it good. I think this foundation is a solid medium coverage when applied thoroughly. And very very easy to apply. I think foundation is by far the hardest to get right of all makeup products, the endless search as you age and your skin changes. For this time in my life this is the holy grail.
I'm in love with this foundation! As an older woman (76) this blends perfectly, looks natural, and doesn't crease under my eyes. I blend it with a brush, and then finish with a dry sponge. I do still add a little Touche Eclat Hi Cover concealer (the one you didn't like, but I have used ever since from a few years ago!!). I do powder - but very, very lightly with Hourglass Luminous lIght. Will definitely try the blush, highlighter and brow products now. Beautiful look.
I believe this face of makeup is absolutely beautiful on you. Truly. I am going to try the foundation for sure and the blush. That is my kind of blush as it is subtle but beautiful.

I got baby lipstick which feel lovely on the lips. I also got Fox blush after seeing it would give me that caught the sun look, I find creams don’t last well on me so hunted to find a matching powder blush and found Vieve powder blush in Piazza is the same shade. I layer them for lasting power.
I saw that after day 3 that the stick foundation/concealer started to lift and move, however in this tutorial I think your skin looks phenomenal and very skin-like, you dont look 'made-up' just beautiful and natural .. I might give this a go for those days when you just need to look a bit better than 'normal' rather than made-up .. it seems, given how great you look, to be the perfect 'no make-up, make-up look' .. again another knock-out tutorial Gemma!! xx
I know I’ll make another comment but writing as I watch. Can’t wait to see because I am constantly tempted to buy that deal where they give you the suede bag The brush is supposed to be great so look it up and you can get it with your next order. I’ve several times almost bought just the brush
I have most of the products you used and I do like them but I kind of save them for those rush days when I need to get things on quick. I find they do wear well but I am like you when it comes to the under eye as I feel I need a little more coverage. Love the Pat on the back! It’s hard to chose shades on line and you did a great job and I loved that blush ! Thanks😊
I have The ambient light powder from Hourglass in Ethereal Light. I’m a pale girl so this works pretty well. The difference is it does not look heavy on the under eye and keeps some kind of glow going that diffuses shadows. A pair this with the Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin radiant concealer. A pointed highlighter brush from Ulta beauty is used to lightly dust the area.

You look lovely in Merit. I discovered this company last Summer and I LOVE everything I've tried, especially the brow, blush balm and lip slick. I have Cheeky, Terracotta and Fox in the blush balms and I have to say Fox is my favorite also. I use it the same way you applied it with the bronzer on my cheeks and I love the subtle, sculpted look I get. Such a GREAT company and with the cost of makeup these days, I think these products are well worth the money.
Haven't tried any Merit, but this video makes me want to. Other Utubers have commented on the cost per volume of product in the container. I'm in my late 50s with very dry skin and think the emollient formula may work. I have invested in the Westman-Atelier so after I'm done I may try. Your makeup looks great. Also if u use your color corrector under your eyes before the foundation you may have greater success. You look gorgeous 😍

I’m just getting back into wearing makeup again, after many years of wearing hardly any, so I think this would be perfect for me until I get more confident in applying different products or stronger colours. I have several products, and am loving them. My favorites are the mascara and lip oils. With the Minimalist, I’ve found that using my finger to pat a little bit in to my textured under eyes, then finishing it with the Angie Hot & Flashy concealer brush, have given me the best result. Loved this video!
I’m VERY tempted now. I know this is also supposed to be great for a quick look. If I were traveling with it I think I would also pack and under eye concealer and probably an eye primer. The blush shade that I hear talked about the most is the shade raspberry. I remember seeing it and liking it at Sephora. At any rate I think that’s the shade that’s constantly selling out. Wasn’t sure about the foundation stick but really liked it after your demo.

I recently tried merit’s foundation stick and glow serum, can’t wait to get that blush. Gemma, you’ve got to try their glow serum! I use during the day and leaves my skin so soft I don’t need a moisturizer…love their products 👍🏻
I adore the blushes and have for some time. Beverly Hills is the most wonderful layering blush. It's super neutral but also light enough for me when I am in my "winter fair" levels of whiteness. Strangely enough, it also works in summer. I wear the blushes alone and with others. They work great with powder blushes, too. I keep a mini version of Beverly Hills in my bag and use it for touch ups throughout the day, even if I wore another blush.
Oh I'm so glad you reviewed these! I recently had allergy testing and am allergic to a few things that are in sooooo many beauty products. But there are a few Merit products that are safe for me, so I really enjoyed the review! Sadly I can't wear the lipsticks, but I'm intrigued by the lip oil, the blush, and the highlight (surprisingly!).
I LOVE this look! So very natural looking. I think I would love the foundation stick. My main question is how are your undereyes so smooth?!? I’m now 60, and I’ve delayed texture there from staying out of the sun most of my life, but yours are amazing. I’ll have to find you latest skincare video to see what you use. Bottom line? I love this stuff - found it via Caroline Barnes’s channel and bought way too much, but now gone back to get the bronze in Clay, (I bought quince before) the blush in Fox to add to the two I got before and a new lip oil! Bad, bad Gemma! 😅. I’d love to know how the blush and the bronzer work over a different foundation. I am freckled and although can trend towards redness, I don’t need or want much cover during the day - happily no shadows below the eyes, though I sometimes have to make that area look less pale - yay for sunglasses! But I like a medium cover if getting dressed up and using more makeup on my eyes etc. Follow up video please 😊
Oooooh....I've been waiting for this video before I bought anything from Merit. What a sophisticated and classy look! Thank you for your recommendations, I'm going to try some of the berry tones of the blush (Apres and Raspberry Beret and their corresponding lipstick/lip oil.... although I think the blush can be used as a hint of colour on the lips) for an Autumn colour palette in a couple of months. This was really useful, Gemma, as we have the same skin tone, and the suggested shade from Merit website, after sending a photo, was waaaaaaayyyyy too warm even viewed on a screen, hence I've been waiting for this video! I like a minimal skin product, so the stick is a win for me, but the gloss/slick somehow makes my lips MORE dry after 30 minutes. Not sure how. I also love the serum, so if you have the chance, you should go back and give that a try.
This is an absolutely beautiful look for you… I’m afraid I may need Slightly more coverage… as I have long workdays… The highlighter intrigues me -at present, I love Victoria Beckham’s stick highlighter in Pearl which actually doesn’t have tons of shine but a beautiful glossy “wet “look. Have you tried Victoria Beckhams stick highlighter and if so how does it compare to Merritt?
I love your brows both ways! The foundation on 1st application looks like full coverage to me, just beautiful. I think you could easily get away with half the amount of foundation you used. As you say, we're not trying to look perfect, or for perfection.
hi Gemma. can you do a video with Elf putty, contour etc. may i ask you do video exactly show how you apply the tret , as you exclude the centre zone, show with vaseline, aquaphor how to build barrier to stop migration - I must use an oil at night, very dry over 50, and feel the tret migrates, know u did video but you did not show the IRL how you apply, build barrier around eyes, etc have sensitie eyes. pls do video re contour four fair skin, products, brands in cream, sticks for dry skin xxx
I tried the minimalist perfecting complexion stick and was really disappointed. I went for the fairest shade (bone), and whilst it was a good colour match on application and made my skin look really smooth and healthy, I found it oxidised throughout the day leaving me a slightly orange tinge to my face ☹️ hesitant to try anymore products after my disappointment as they’re expensive to ship to the UK x
Merit isn't in Australia 😢 I saw someone on tiktok use the bronzer balm & it looked easy to use, so I looked up where I could get it. Not in Aus. So the UK isnt always last.

I love lipstick and am going to order this brand, but unfortunately because it does get on my teeth I barely ever wear lipstick at all anymore. The lipstick in Slip is my all time fav lippy. I love the formula and it is the perfect browny nude for me. Want to pick up Baby next.

the packaging on the merit complexion stick i think would have looked better on a contour stick and a cream colour for the complexion xx
I really wanted these products to work and they start out well but don’t last, at least in my experience. Best product is the brown one, imo.

Merit isn't in Australia 😢 I saw someone on tiktok use the bronzer balm & it looked easy to use, so I looked up where I could get it. Not in Aus. So the UK isnt always last.

Hi Gemma and group, can anyone give me a tip on a great lipstick and gloss that will not transfer to my teeth. I love lipstick and am going to order this brand, but unfortunately because it does get on my teeth I barely ever wear lipstick at all anymore. I have only got the blush. Find it too oily and colour doesn’t last. They have also set the price too high imo.
