I have had a pair for about three weeks now. I love them!! I have always been a speaker guy so besides my B&W px7s2 this is my first real headphones. And boy do i love them. Still deciding on an amp. So far running them from my laptop and phone I love them. They have awesome imaging for music and games! They are a bit clampy but that loosens off over time. I can highly recommend these!!
Would these offer a noticeable upgrade over an eqed HD599? Looking to upgrade for something similarly fun with especially better bass. They go for 360€ atm and i paid 108€ for the HD599.. FiiO ft1 could be another option? But i have no need for sound isolation.
Is there enough of a difference here between this set and my OG Zeus to justify the price of entry? I really enjoy my Zeus especially for watching movies but bounce between them my HiFiman Edition XS, Senn HD 560 and 6XX as well as my heavily modified and pad rolled M1060s. I've given all my lower end headphones to family and friends who needed decent sets to get them started into the hobby. I haven't bought any new headphones or IEMs in '23 as I just haven't felt the need. My Edition XS are at the top of my price range and I feel no need to spend more. For IEMs I was able to finally snag a set of Kinera Skuld for $350us to my door in like new condition and couldn't be happier. Along with my other IEMs such as the HookX, Timeless, Midnights, Blessing2, Lokahi and a couple other sets I'm happy there as well after again giving my less expensive sets to my sister who also loves music. Sorry long winded way of asking if this new Zeus can justify it's price when I already own the OG in your opinion? Thanks, take care and God Bless...
Yes, I would choose the Zeus Elite every time over the og. It might have slightly less micro details but it's much smoother and less fatiguing to my ears.
@@kan9295 Personally if I could keep only one it would be my HiFiman Edition XS but that would be a hard choice as I also really enjoy my HD600 with my Little Dot II amp with some tubes from the '70s as well as my original Zeus on the same amp. I also have a set of 1060's I spent a year finding the right thickness and density of felt for the back plate to get them sounding the way I wanted. That's not terribly helpful, sorry. The Edition XS are in MHOP definitely worth the price if you have a clean amp to drive them...
If you do not take into account the sound supply, which headphone options will be an unambiguous upgrade, but for the same price as Zeus, or suddenly there is something more budget-friendly with a different sound level? I'm interested in exactly what the new sound level will be. In Zeus, there is still a lot invested in materials and a case.
Well, it's really hard to pass up the Sennheiser HD600/HD650. Zeus is a good option if you want something that looks and feels premium and has a shaped sound signature (as opposed to more neutral).
Weight and metal what is with a premium that correlated between these it's a good job f1 cars aren't built to the same philosophy they'd still be driving 1930s Bentleys.

You'd be better off with the FT1 Pro.

if you chose only headphones to listen to music, what would you keep for yourself?

Same - if I could only keep one it would probably be the hd650 (hmm blacklisted me so can't compare these haha).
