What do you think the next animal character will be? Chicken? Manatee? Bee? I hope it's Bee. Watch this space to find out: store.steampowered.com/app/1785150/Friends_vs_Friends/
I felt like your critics are actually the games strong points. The RNG adds to the replayability and makes each game feel unique. Instead of just point and click like most fps
Deck building can be skillful. It's all about trying to find cards that work well together, and trying to find ways to bend the probability of getting whatever cards you need at a given time to the best of your ability. Now I don't have FvF, however from what I've seen, the game's mechanics don't support skillful deck-building. You can only have 1 copy of a card in your deck (unlike other games, which usually have some restriction on copies, but still lets you have multiples of the same card), and there's no draw cards, and both are pretty essential to making a consistent deck in any other card game. It seems like a cool idea for a game, but some work needs to be done with the concept.
I agree that deck building competitive games can be skillful, but usually that factor is the only aspect (*along with tactically reacting to your opponent) in the measure of skill. Here you're putting all of this in the mix with the skill of players to know map design, their ability to aim, and how scaled up they have gotten their cards. I think having cards that get stronger as you collect them is a massive slap in the face for balance. If my poison card is doing more damage than your poison card, the scales are already tipped before we even consider if you're a better shot or position yourself in a better place.
@@AbbreviatedReviews I 100% agree, and forgot to add that to my original comment; cards leveling up and getting stronger is dumb. If anything, leveling up cards should've just been a cosmetic change to the card, like it goes from a normal card at level 1, to having a basic holo pattern at level 2, to having a star holo pattern at level 3, etc. Even then, I'm not a big fan of the leveling system. They should've just let you keep copies of cards, then let you choose what to do with the copies. You could either trade them in for in-game currency, or you could trade cards with friends, ya know, like an actual TCG.
It was mostly frustration for me, although I didn't play with friends (and sadly I wouldn't recommend this game to any). Love the visuals and there's definitely a lot of heart put into the game, but everything else felt poorly or awkwardly designed.
The good news is that they've made quite a few tweaks since the launch so it seems they're aware of how clunky and unbalanced things could be. Notably the two weapons I mentioned were recently toned down a bit - though their power is tied more to their use on certain maps than their raw potential. Like if you get a shotgun on Subway, unless you position really well, there's a good chance you'll be doing less DPS than a regular pistol.
I'm not really sure how I never made a connection to Neon White. I think it just feels so different being competitive that it never clicked in my head.
@@AbbreviatedReviews I do wish that the cards were either lower, smaller, or maybe just same side as the weapon. I feel like they block too much of the view.

I hope you'll review soon to be released KarmaZoo as well, it has verymany animals to choose from : )
This is the sort of game I might enjoy playing with friends once or twice. Online with strangers? Not so much.
At least there's no online communication so randoms can't be quite as annoying.
Its actually quite fun! The discord is full of really cool people who srent toxic at all

I don't think RNG is inherently bad, but in a competitive setting it feels out of place.
@@AbbreviatedReviews i suppose i just don't see the game as competitive. just a goofy fps card game

exemple: invisble hand and garbage card
@@RednekGamurz Draw cards? You mean cards that give you more cards?
Well this game has been updated and now has several of those
@@arandomhashbrown3756 Yup, I've seen.
This game looks chaotic, fun, frustrating, and extremely (un)fair. Im sold!
It is all of those things.
Voice as smooth as silk
Well I do eat a lot of silk.

I've been having a lot of fun with the game though I agree it would never work in a competitive setting without some major gameplay tweeks
Re review?? It feels like a different game now.
Confirm
The sarcasm is scathing and delightful.
It's a delicate balance...
love me some venture bros references
I'm glad one of my someone niche references has finally been recognized.
I need to have your voice for my audio books and when I talk on the phone to women lmao
I don't think that any woman has ever made the claim my voice had an effect on them. But it may have been because it was coming out of my face.
thank you!
Neon White, except you can't see.
