Agreed. Another of my favorites is Stay With Me from "A Nod is as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse" by Faces. Played by future Stones guitarist Ron Wood. ;)
And don’t overlook the phenomenal 10:39 work that Charlie does on the cymbals in this song!!! The sax and cymbal unison in this riff are sublime!!! It is so unappreciated by the broad range of critics who have ever given us their “expert opinions” on the artistic value that this song has offered to us all. I am not some Juilliard educated music person (snob), but can easily pick up on the brilliance in the musical riff later stance when the sax and cymbal playing becomes one piece of melody that just takes over and drives this masterpiece into the final stanzas of this gem of a song that has never been given its due as being one of the great Rock and Roll songs ever. I will always refrain from saying “greatest” ever because music is art and the consumer of this art has the right to decide for themselves what they themself consider is the “greatest”. So on these social media platforms, it cannot possibly be defined as what group or artist is greatest or better than any other…. why??? Because we all have the right to decide what we ourselves deem worthy of being considered best, better, and/or greatest. Music cannot be quantified by any single data point or scale. We refer to album sales as a source for decision making any declaration of who is better or best. But that is not a correct scale for making that distinction. The folks who are using this information are doing so because it makes sense to boost their argument for the music they prefer.
@@riiidiculoso8697 not sure if u meant to reply to me? or make a general comment to Biz? Anyhow, i totally agree he should do some more SF! Can u hear us knockin', Biz? LOL
@@joescott8877 to you - your comment was legit, so just a little hi~dee~hi from a fellow Stones fan. Time passes…and we can’t listen to all the music, all the time…so, da-dah! ✨ And Hey, Joe, when was the last time you listened to Dirty Mac? Rock on!🤘
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is on the Rolling Stones 1971 album "Sticky Fingers". The track is over seven minutes long. The main song lasts for under 3 minutes & wasn't supposed to include the extended jam session. But the entire track was recorded in one take with the jam session being included by accident.
Imo, the best song from Sticky Fingers is the closing track "Moonlight Mile." It's a ballad and it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever listened to. It's definitely their prettiest for me.
"You can't always get what you want ", "Beast of burden ", "Let's spend the night together ", "Wild horses ", "Angie ", "Ruby Tuesday ", geez their catalogue of songs 🎵 is virtually endless
Bobby Keys (R.I.P.) on sax and Mick Taylor on lead guitar; Charlie Watts (R.I.P.) amazing on the drums. Incredible song on an incredible album. Here's a request: "Time Waits for No One." Great song with another fire guitar solo by Mick Taylor.
No one thought this day would ever come. Happy Birthday, Keith! And Happy R.I.P. Birthday (Can you do that?) to his best buddy Bobby Keys, born on the same day in Texas.
It’s like two awesome songs mashed together into one. Stones at their creative best. One of Keith’s most iconic riffs on the first section and Mick Taylor rockin the rest. Heaven!
I think Let It Bleed is their best album, personally, but they have so so many great albums and so so many great songs! My suggestions: The song, Let It Bleed, Jigsaw Puzzle, Stray Cat Blues (their nastiest, and I mean nasty!), Street Fighting Man, Rocks Off (yes, that's what it's about), Moonlight Mile (elegant ballad), Soul Survivor, Live With Me, Monkey Man, Midnight Rambler, You Can't Always Get What You Want. That can get you started!
The 2nd half of the song was completely improvised.the song was supposed to end and then they just kept going with it ..they didn’t even know it was still being recorded
Apologies Biz, if this has already been said, but the guitar solo wasn't Keith; it was Mick Taylor. The dirty sounding rhythm in the right channel is Keith. Mick Taylor's guitar is in the left channel.
Moonlight Mile which finishes off Sticky Fingers. The whole album has such great diversity of songs, and Moonlight Mile finishes the album off perfectly.
One of my Fav's from them is Paint it Black. The musical prodogy Brian Jones, original member and founder of the band can be seen playing the Satir. It's a great song!
Story goes that when the song was susposed to end the guiter keep goin and then the sax picked it back and pretty soon EVERYBODY was jamming in an improved ending!😂❤❤❤
Excellent song choice, Big Soul Biz - The Stones are Knocking and Rocking on this fantastic song. 'Moonlight Mile,' 'Bitch', and 'Sway' is another great song to check out. Thanks for continually bringing your 'A' game to every reaction. You're always great.
Great reaction. I love Bobby Keys’ sax solo in this song. I think Sticky Fingers is the first album Bobby Keys played on with them. He will play and tour with them until his death. He became one of Keith’s closest friends and they shared the same birthday which is today. Happy Birthday Bobby and Happy 80th Birthday Keef!
Guess who's going to check out he Stones next year? This cat right here. My wife just scored some tix in Vegas. It will be my fifth time checking these guys out, my wife's first time.
Please do a review of 'star star'...one of the first songs to feature the F-word.You'll get a good laugh with that one as Jagger sings about groupies using him because of his star status.
Great reaction- I suggest dead flowers - has kind of a twang to it- deeper classic that has a great chorus and sucks you into the story- keep rockin’ 🎩
Sweet! Filthy! Heh. Just listen to Charlie Watts carry that shuffle! "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is one of the bangers from their Sticky Fingers album, easily one of the best rock and roll albums ever made -- "Brown Sugar", "Wild Horses", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Dead Flowers" and much more. "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" finds the Stones taking on the way old school lyrical riff visited by their influences, notably "Keep Knocking (But You Can't Come In)" by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys in 1938, "Keep A-Knockin'" by Louis Jordan in 1939, "I Hear You Knocking" by Smiley Lewis in 1955, and "Keep A-Knockin'" by Little Richard in 1957. Dave Edmunds took "I Hear You Knocking" to the top ten in 1970. There was a lot of knockin' going on back then, even when the van was rocking... 😀
Awesome album. A classic. If I couldn't legally own but two Stones albums it would be this one and Let it Bleed. Of course since I'm an outlaw at heart I would break the law and have Some Girls stashed away somewhere.
Yep, another dope song from a killer album; every song is pretty much a fave rave, and this laid-back rave-up is a perfect encapsulation of the good-time rock'n'roll aesthetic few can touch. Bobby Keyes and Keith share a birthday, btw. Pretty sure about that 🤔 😊🤙🏼❤️🎷🪘🎸🔊🎶✨️🕊
Great reaction! Love the Stones! If you want to hear a great sax solo check out the band, Foreigner "Urgent.k" One of the best sax solos around. Good luck!
“Midnight Rambler”, the studio version should be your first listen for this song. This is off their Let It Bleed Album. It has to be their most theatrical and sinister song in a long line of down and dirty. I would put the Let It Bleed album at number one BUT Sticky Fingers is right there with it. You should listen to both of those albums if you get the chance.
Am I mistaken, but are the guitar riffs at the end influenced by Carlos Santana?,it sure sounds like it. The stones incorporated all different types of instruments and music genres.
You have to listen to The Brussels affair album of the stones in what I regard is thier best recorded concert live I’ve ever heard .. promise I’ll subscribe if you do . Gday from down under mate cheers !
The jam in the second half is rather Latin-inflected, probably influenced by Santana. Their most creative album was Satanic Majesties Request IMO. Sort of a concept album, the Stones counterpoint to Sgt. Pepper. 2000 Light Years From Home stands out. Street Fighting Man is their best tune. An amazing song. I'm not a Stones fan but give credit where it's due. Too much of their music and their presentation incorporates satanic crap, SMR, Dancing With Mr D, Goats Head Soup, cetra, cetra. We get it Jagger, you think Satan is cool
One of the bestest opening guitar riffs in the history of electric guitar riffs. Seriously, I could hear that shit drop all day long.
Agreed. Another of my favorites is Stay With Me from "A Nod is as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse" by Faces. Played by future Stones guitarist Ron Wood. ;)
