3rd goldmine costs 300 gold pays 1 gold every 2 seconds that is 30 gold a minute so 10 minutes to pay for itself. 4th is 375 wich mean another 2.5 minutes so 12.5 minutes to pay for itself. Based on basically every directstrike video you have done you have about 15-20 mintues at the LEAST before the game ends after you could get a 4th gold mine. Obviously therr are exceptions. But generally true that 4th goldmine if bought early is a good idea.

The problem is that you risk sacrificing mid gold which is 10g/20sec x3. It's a really tough decision.
