Ok, am I the only one who's noticing that SMG4 is slowly becoming like Mr Puzzles? I have a feeling something bad is gonna happen. A theory I have is that Mr Puzzles isn't the arcs actual big bad, but rather a minion working for a group of entities far more dangerous than the likes of Zero. I mean, how on Earth did Mr Puzzles even get his eldritch powers? You expect me to think that tv could just give him the powers of warping reality? I know this is the same series where we have eldritch world destroying viruses, walls that can alter memories, pens that bring anime to life, and sentient cardboard people, but a TV that can randomly give you magic powers is just way too out there even for SMG4. Considering how easy his defeat was, I think it lends credence to theory that Mr Puzzles is working for someone much worse.
Other than that, this was a good episode and a genuine improvement over last weeks episode. Seems like SMG4 might be undergoing his villain arc.

I thought of an arc that kinda addresses the criticisms of barely touching upon the arcs. Here is the premise for it.
Redemption arc:
I have an idea for an arc that kinda touches those critiques. The crew stop another eldritch abomination, but are met with scorn from the citizens for destroying the city. This results in SMG4 and crew getting into a talk with the mayor of the mushroom kingdom. He berates the crew for recklessly destroying the city in their battle and believes that they never seem to learn their lessons. Meggy tries to remind the mayor about the times SMG4 saved the world and that sometimes you gotta break the eggs when saving the day, but the mayor reminds them that saving the day isn't a job, but a duty that should be handled by heroes who take said duty seriously. So the mayor announces that he will send the crew to the onion mines... that is unless they reach an agreement. SMG4 asks what the agreement is and the mayor explains that the terms are simple. SMG4 and his crew give up their weapons, powers, and lifestyle to live a normal life, retiring from their adventurous lifestyle. SMG3 interjects, saying the mayor can't do that, but the mayor reminds them that he will send them to the onion mines if they say no. Left with no choice, SMG4 and his crew reluctantly accept and go through a medical process that removes them of their powers and allow the president to confiscate their weapons.
A year passes by since the SMG4 crew retired and nothing big has happened. Most of the glitchy crew are enjoying the simple and fun lifestyle of 'normal' people, but Meggy and SMG4 openly express boredom. There have been no eldritch horrors or insane lunatics in a while that Meggy is just asking for something to happen. In an undisclosed lair, a mysterious figure gets word of the SMG4 crew retiring and uses this as a chance to show the mushroom kingdom that a new evil has arrived in the form of the Cobra Clan. This calls for the SMG4 crew to save the day again, but not only will this be a challenge without their powers, but what also makes this a challenge is that Killer Cobra is able to make backup plans that the crew never discover.
This arc is inspired by the 2008 Dark Knight film and intends to deconstruct the SMG4 series. It's meant to ask how the SMG4 crew would be in a more realistic setting and you can see the outcomes. SMG4 and his crew are treated like outsiders and completely distrusted by the public due to the unintentional destruction they cause from the arcs they go on.
Let's go over the arc villain I made called Killer Cobra. He's a bomb throwing anarchist who serves as the leader of the enigmatic Cobra Clan with the desire of overthrowing the kingdom into chaos. Unlike the other arc villains, he isn't an eldritch horror or a superpowered entity, but a normal human with nothing but his resources. What Killer Cobra lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with his intelligence and ruthless nature. He not only creates backup plans with the resources at his disposal, but he knows a lot about the crew and uses their powers against them. Killer Cobra is also a pragmatist, avoiding tons of villain cliches and relying on dirty tactics to defeat the crew. What's truly dangerous about Killer Cobra is his manipulative nature as he knows how to mess with his foes psychological states. He orders his minions to kill numerous toads just as Peach escapes the pit, using this as a way to drive Peach to kill the SMG4 crew with him.
As for Killer Cobra's Freudian excuse and backstory... well... he doesn't have anything. He goes as far as to mock the idea of a Freudian excuse to SMG4 and his crew as he tells them multiple backstories that contradict with each other. Killer Cobra doesn't have any start of darkness, real name, backstory, or anything for that matter. He just shows up to wreak havoc, but I intentionally did this to make him scarier and offer a new threat to the crew. The SMG4 crew have dealt with many villains, but most of the ones they fought before had something of a clear motive. This time, they're facing a villain they know nothing about alongside one with no clear motive. Killer Cobra isn't motivated by greed, pride, lust, envy, or anything reasonable. He's just evil because he enjoys it.
My idea behind Killer Cobra is offering an actual pure evil villain in the series alongside a realistic villain. Killer Cobra doesn't have any excuse for his actions and devoid of redeeming qualities, going as far as to mock the crew for believing in redemption. On top of that, what makes Killer Cobra stand out is the fact that his villainy is basically played in a more realistic manner with little supernatural elements to it as he commits destruction wherever he goes. He's basically meant to show that sometimes the real monsters aren't always eldritch or supernatural. On top of that, Killer Cobra also manages to escape arrest at the end with no traces of where he could've gone off to.
Obviously, Killer Cobra's character is inspired by Heath Ledger's Joker (Both are enigmatic men of unknown origins, provide contradicting backstories, and corrupt a specific individual to further their goals [Peach in the case of Killer Cobra and Harvey Dent in the case of Joker]). Although, unlike the Joker, Killer Cobra is far more stoic in nature and rarely raises his voice at all (Kinda think Anton from No Country From Old Men or SATAM Robotnik with the Joker's usage of dark comedy).
Peach's role is basically Harvey Dent in that she ends up being driven mad by Killer Cobra to the point that she targets the SMG4 crew before being put out of her misery.
What do you think of this idea? I kinda wanted to see an arc where the characters lose for once to subvert the whole "good guys always win" tropes in the arcs. It's also my idea of the show actually acknowledging the arcs that came beforehand. I'm welcome to any thoughts and critiques

Two things. First, it was obvious that Mr Puzzles was just pretending he wasn't evil anymore, he always showed himself to be manipulative. Second, man, Mr Puzzles knows how to be scary

And hopefully unlike the Puzzlevision miniseries I hope Melony and Saiko get a major role and help their friends defeat Mr. Puzzles. I gonna try and contact one of the smg4 team members so they can including these two, no i'm not going to threaten them. Im just gonna chat with them so they can make sure Melony and Saiko have some hand in helping this time
I personally hope Mr. Puzzles becomes sort of a common occuring villain who appears from time to time to cause mayhem.

(SMG4 and crew manage to stop another eldritch abomination, but are unaware of the destruction their actions caused)
SMG4: No need to thank us! Just another day in the life of me and my crew! So where are the rewards?
(Someone throws a rock at SMG4, earning the ire of Meggy)
Meggy: Alright, who threw that?!
Koopa: It was me! Look at what you freaks did! You destroyed half the city!
SMG3: Hello, we saved the day! If it weren't for us, you all would probably be dead!
Mario: So where's our "Thank you"?
Koopa: Thank you? THANK YOU?! That monster was after you guys!
TF2 Soldier: The day probably wouldn't need saving if you and your crew weren't here!
Goomba: Yeah, SMG-FREAK!
(All the citizens walk off, saying negative things about SMG4's crew)
Citizen: That SMG4 and his crew are trouble.
Citizen #2: Yeah, they seem to do nothing but attract trouble.
Citizen #3: Why must those freaks ruin our day?
(SMG4 and his crew just look at the ground sadly)
SMG4: Can't we just get respect for one day?
(An intercom is heard as the mayor makes an announcement)
Mayor: Can the SMG4 crew be kind enough to report to what's LEFT of the White House please?
(The SMG4 crew walk over to the remains of the White House as SMG4 knocks on the door)
Mayor: Who is it?
SMG4: It's me SMG4.
Mario: As well as his friends.
Mayor: Please come in.
(SMG4 and his crew walk over to the mayor's desk as he is looking at them with a stern look)
Melony: So you wanted to talk with us?
Mayor: Yes. Do you know WHAT I want to talk about?
Meggy: About how you want to show us gratitude and giving us a well deserved award?
Mayor: (eyes twitching) Gratitude? GRATITUDE?! LOOK AT WHAT YOU BOZOS DID! YOUR "ADVENTURE" DESTROYED HALF OF THE CITY WHICH WE HAD REPAIRED LAST WEEK! THIS IS THE SEVENTH ELDRITCH HORROR ATTACK WE HAD! YOU THINK I AM GONNA REWARD YOU ALL FOR DESTROYING THE CITY LIKE IT WAS A LEGO SET?!
Mario: Seriously? We save the city and you choose to berate us over accidentally destroying half the city? Have you not seen superhero movies before?
Meggy: Yeah and did you forget that we stopped an eldritch abomination?
SMG4: And if it weren't for us, this world probably not be standing.
Mayor: Yes, but you and your crew destroyed my beautiful city again! Your recklessness once again only causes more trouble for us!
Boopkins: Hey at least we saved the day! Why not show us some appreciation for saving your life?
SMG3: Besides, it's common for unintentional destruction to happen and besides, you're the mayor! You have money to repair it! It's just a dumb city!
Mayor: (struggling to restrain his anger) JUST A... DUMB... CITY?! DO YOU PUNKS HAVE ANY IDEA HOW ANNOYING IT IS TO CONSTANTLY REPAIR THIS CITY DAY AFTER DAY BECAUSE OF YOUR RECKLESS NATURES?! DO I LOOK LIKE I HAVE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO KEEP THIS CITY STANDING?! WHAT, ARE YOU ALL GONNA TELL ME YOU ALL BELIEVE SOME FAIRY GODMOTHER IS JUST GONNA USE HER MAGIC WAND TO REVERT THIS CITY TO NORMAL?! DO YOU ALL THINK REPAIRING A CITY IS CHEAP?! DOES IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU ALL TO THINK ABOUT HOW YOUR ACTIONS MIGHT AFFECT OTHERS?!
(The crew are left speechless by his anger)
SMG4: ...Yes?
Melony: Come on, lay it off! At least we stop the bad guys!
Luigi: Very easily too!
Mayor: Well, according to studies, most of these villains have ties to you punks! Ever since you all started your arcs, we've had a 20% rise in homicide rates, 40% increase in criminal activity, and don't get me started on the eldritch horror attacks! Let me recap. First was Francis, directly tied to your Anime challenges held by Boopkins. Next was Zero, directly tied to the arrival of SMG1 and 2. Following that was Lawyer Kong, directly tied to Meggy. Most recently was Mr Puzzles, directly tied to SMG4's actions. Whenever, these do happen, you all are very quick to scapegoat Mario! Did you forget that he's the avatar of our world meaning he gives us life?!
Tari: Ok, so we may have a tendency to accidentally create our own villains, but at least we stop them!
Meggy: And while we are slightly dysfunctional, we still care for each other in our own ways.
SMG4: Plus, it's like that old saying, sometimes you gotta break a few eggs when saving the day!
Bob: In style no less!
Mayor: Well SMG4, a real hero would know that it's their duty to protect those eggs!
SMG4: What now?
Mayor: That's my other problem with you bozos. You all clearly treat heroics far more like a game or a way of showing off. SMG4, may I remind you and your crew that being a superhero isn't a game? It's a duty. A duty that comes with many responsibilities. Responsibilities that should be handled by heroes who take them seriously, not by a bunch of super powered freaks who treat those responsibilities like a joke! Clearly, you all don't understand what the definition of a hero truly is!
SMG4: Come on, we can be serious when saving the day! You just can't see it!
Mayor: (Sarcastically) Sure, as evident by the destruction your adventures cause!
Meggy: Why don't we convince you through a WOTFI?
Luigi: Good idea Meggy!
SMG4: Alright first challenge- (Cut off by the mayor right away)
Mayor: Oh no, we are not doing that!
SMG4: You didn't give me time to mention the first challenge!
Mayor: That's because those have nothing to do with what we are talking about! This is a serious discussion! Not some stupid game show! Either way, what are these WOTFIs supposed to convince me? That you all are a bunch of nut jobs who can't accept responsibility?
SMG4: What is your problem? Can't you just give us one more chance?
Mayor: No, I've had enough of your behaviors so I'm gonna make this clear! SMG4, you and your crew are not a bunch of selfless anime heroes, the Justice League, the Powerpuff Girls, The Ninja Turtles, or the Avengers! You and your crew are just a bunch of punks who think you have permission to handle the law when, in actuality, that's a duty which should be handled by ACTUAL licensed superheroes! You all are a bunch of terrible role models for our children, acting all arrogant and thinking that being a hero is about looking cool. Being a superhero is about protecting citizens and upholding the responsibilities. You and your crew embody everything that a superhero isn't supposed to be.
Mario: Quit being a jerk and thank us for saving the day!
Meggy: Yeah, why are you scapegoating us over something so small like this?
Mayor: No, this is not a small issue and it is something that I can tell is a big problem with you punks.
SMG4: It's just a dumb city!
Mayor: That does it! Your rude behavior is leaving me with no choice. I'm gonna send you all to the Onion mines...
(The crew scream upon hearing that before the mayor can even finish)
Mayor: Hold on, let me finish! I am gonna send you all to the onion mines... unless we reach an agreement.
(The crew stop screaming)
SMG4: What are the terms?
Mayor: Simple. You and your crew surrender your weapons, powers, and lifestyle to live a normal life of nothing but picnics and vacations. Basically, you all will retire from the superhero business. No more arcs, WOTFIs, or any adventure.
Mario: You can't do that because you think we're dangerous!
Meggy: Yeah, you can't just restrict our rights all because of a little destruction.
Mayor: As mayor, I sure as heck have the right to enforce this!
Tari: But who will be there to handle the criminals?
Mayor: We got our own police force to handle that.
Meggy: And what about the eldritch horrors?
Mayor: No need to worry. With you guys retired, we won't have any eldritch horror attacks and, if there are some that appear, we got other heroes who can handle them. Heroes who take their duty seriously!
SMG4: Well, we don't accept your conditions!
Mayor: Fine, but remember what happens if you say no...
(The SMG4 crew realize what he means and reluctantly decide to say yes, knowing that they basically had no choice)
SMG4: (sighs) Alright, we accept...
Mayor: Good! This'll be a quick procedure!
(Scenes occur showing the crew undergoing their procedures. A bunch of doctors come in to inject needles into each of the crew which drain them of their powers. After losing their powers, the crew surrender their weapons to the mayor who locks them in a vault)
Mayor: There now, that wasn't so bad, was it?
(The crew just look solemnly at each other as they are now feeling down)
Mayor: Oh and one more thing to clarify. As of today SMG4, you and your crew will be prohibited from doing any more heroics. As stated, you all will be prohibited from doing any WOTFIs or arcs. All heroics are gonna be handled by licensed superheroes so if I catch your crew doing any sort of tomfoolery, I will send you all to the Onion mines!

@@NICKRICKGames For context, this arc is called the Redemption arc. The whole idea of the arc is that it's meant to deconstruct the SMG4 series, asking what it would be like if the characters were placed in a more grounded setting. As you can see, the crew are basically not trusted by anyone and even treated like outsiders.
As for the arc villain, the villain of this arc is Killer Cobra, an anarchist who wants to corrupt people and spread anarchy for the fun of it. Unlike the other arc villains, he isn't an eldritch abomination or a supernatural entity. Cobra is just a normal human with nothing but his weapons and wits. However, what he lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with his implacable nature and intelligence. Killer Cobra is not only able to plan out strategies and exploit enemy weaknesses, but he's a no nonsense nemesis in everything. He doesn't undergo any bond villain stupidity or idiot ball tropes; Cobra remains strategic through the arc. He also shows a lot more durability for a normal human as he shrugs off most of the crew's blows. Luigi the Meat Mallet? He does flinch, but mostly treats it like a minor injury. Melony's fierce deity powers? Cobra not only dodges, but even uses against her. Finally, the crew use an all out strike on him? Cobra doesn't flinch and shows enjoyment in it (He basically wants the crew to become corrupt as much as him).
As for Cobra's Freudian excuse... well... he doesn't have any and even mocks the idea. Killer Cobra basically tells many conflicting backstories and admits that not even he remembers his past life prior to becoming a psycho for hire. His character is meant to showcase the hard truth to the crew that some villains aren't motivated by greed, envy, lust, pride, or anything rational. Some villains just want to watch the world burn. Killer Cobra is also scary in that there's nothing supernatural or fantastical about him. Killer Cobra's villainy is basically played realistically through the Redemption arc. He is meant to showcase how sometimes the scariest monsters aren't eldritch horrors, but humans.
Killer Cobra can basically be described as a mixture of the Anton Chigurh and the Joker. Like Anton, Killer Cobra is a no nonsense implacable man who will hunt his targets down to the ends of the Earth. Killer Cobra also has no sense of humor to the point where he doesn't laugh at memes. As for the Joker side, Cobra is an excellent manipulator who knows how to corrupt his targets as he gaslights Peach with how the SMG4 crew abandoned her to join forces with him. Killer Cobra even murders SMG1/2, the anti cast, and Depresso both because all four were about to expose him and to push the SMG4 crew to their limits, causing them to be just as bad as him. Killer Cobra is meant to be devoid of any redeeming or laughably evil qualities, showing how in a world of eldritch horrors and supernatural entities, humans can somehow be worse than both of them.
Another part I do include as part of the deconstruction is the crew's "The Good Guys Always win" mentality. SMG4 and his crew have always triumphed over their previous villains very easily and here, we see how the thought of losing never occurs to them. When Cobra ends up winning against them, we see SMG4 and his crew undergo Heroic BSODs that result in them losing their confidence. It gets worse when they are basically forced to perform a mercy kill on Peach after realizing how far off the deep end she's truly become. As the icing on the cake, I'd make it to where Cobra actually escapes arrest. I know the writers would probably force it to be another good guys win, but I would have it be this way to make the arc more unique and remind people how not all stories have happy endings.
What do you think of this idea? Sorry I had to write what is essentially an essay for this.

Killer Cobra: (To the entire SMG4 crew as he recaps his contradictory backstories he tells them) "Maybe... Maybe I was abused by a group of friends to the point of killing them... Or perhaps I had a wife who told me to smile more often... Or maybe I was a lonely boy who built robot friends that you all destroyed accidentally... Or maybe I was just born evil... Alternatively, perhaps I was never here... I honestly don't remember much about my past anyway... Not that it matters...
Mario: We just asked for your backstory, not some riddle!
Killer Cobra: (To Meggy) "Oh Spletzer, you are quite the tenacious one... Too bad that's also your main flaw... Running into battle thinking your enemy is dumb as a brick... Well too bad... (Cobra then detonates an explosive that nearly kills Meggy and sends her flying)"
Killer Cobra: "My one goal is to... spread a message... for I am an angel who will bring this kingdom into a new... no a better... era..."
Killer Cobra: (Nearly shoots SMG4 and his crew)
SMG3: Dang, are you really gonna shoot us?
Killer Cobra: Yes.
Meggy: Aren't you gonna do some oversights in your plan or gloat about your villainy?
Killer Cobra: What do I look like? A James Bond Villain?
@@NICKRICKGames (Cut to a year later. The crew have now lost their powers and are living a 'normal' life. Surprisingly, nothing weird has happened for 2 years. No Eldritch abominations. No TV obsessed lunatics. No corrupt lawyers. Nothing. Most of the crew don't mind this new lifestyle at all since they finally get a break from all the drama. Meggy, Mario, SMG4, and SMG3 however were annoyed. They constantly risk their lives to save this world and yet the mayor chooses to strip them of that lifestyle; all because they caused unintentional destruction. It was almost like the world didn't want them around that it made them angry)
(We see SMG4, 3, Meggy, and Mario seemingly fighting an unseen enemy. They are getting ready for battle)
SMG4 : Prepare to taste justice evil doer! (Jumps up to fight)
Meggy: I'll give you a well deserved beatdown! (She charges to do an "Ora Ora Ora" attack)
Mario: Hope you like spaghetti because that's what you'll be after this evil doer! (Charges up a powerful punch)
SMG3: I've been dying for this! (He joins the other three to battle the unseen enemy. We zoom out to see them unleashing an all out beatdown... On a fast food mascot. Cue the manager coming out to berate them)
Manager: Hey Amigos! Would you punks mind taking your business elsewhere? You're scaring my customers away!
(SMG4, Mario, SMG3, and Meggy all turn to see an entire line of customers looking at them with confused expressions. The four stop their fighting and laugh nervously)
Meggy: Sorry sir... We'll be on our way...
Mario: Have a good day customers...
(All four walk off while the manager just facepalms)
Manager: Darn freaks... Someone should outlaw animals like them...
(The crew walk by as they pass other citizens who just give them stares of scorn. All four soon meet up with the others)
Luigi: Hey guys, still chasing inflatable mascots?
SMG3: (In a sad tone) Yes...
Tari: What's wrong? You all don't look happy.
Meggy: It's just that this is so unfair! We risked our lives numerous to save this world and somehow the citizens and Mayor chose to strip us of that lifestyle all because we unintentionally cause destruction in our heroics! Is it just hard to get one day where we get respect?
Melony: Come on, it's not that bad. Okay, we may not be able to go on any more fun adventures or fight monsters, but look at it this way. We can finally take some rest from all the drama we've gone through. This is honestly the break we needed.
Luigi: Yeah, when was the last time we had a break? We never get to have breaks from the drama.
SMG4: I wouldn't mind having this lifestyle if we weren't FORCED to do so.
Tari: Okay, so yes, we were forced to live this way, but come on guys, take a break and relax. Maybe we could be seen as normal people for once.
Meggy: I guess living this lifestyle is okay. Honestly, it's just been so weird. No eldritch abominations. No TV headed lunatics. No psychopathic weebs. Nothing! Normally, there'd be some eldritch abomination wanting to kidnap Mario, but no! Nothing weird has happened.
Saiko: And you're complaining about that? You four should living the moment and enjoying this peace! Those villains are probably on a vacation.
SMG4: Well that's the thing. How do know that there isn't an a villain planning something? Think about it. We don't have our powers which means that a villain could use this as a perfect opportunity to strike! For all we know, there could be someone worse than Zero planning to attack!
Mario: Yeah, you'll never know what will happen! Someone could attack from nowhere!
(The others just simply sigh)
Luigi: Guys, relax. You all are overreacting. There hasn't been anything odd happening. All the arc villains are dead, redeemed, or in prison. There are no more dangerous threats to worry about! You four need to stop being so paranoid!
Saiko: And besides, I'm sure that if a crime does happen, we're sure the police can handle it.
Melony: Look, I know you all miss the days of going on adventures, but the mayor has openly made it clear that he wants us to stay out of it. This life isn't terrible at all. The last thing we need is another loved one dying too. Still not over Axol's death.
Luigi: That reminds me of a movie we just watched. It was "Space Wars 9: Wrath of Grajako" where the crew had to fight the ruthless Grajako and had to watch one of their members get sacrificed. I was scared, but thankfully the heroes defeated him. Here's even the poster. (Luigi shows them the poster of the movie. It depicts a group of heroes [who look somewhat similar to the SMG4 crew] trying to fight a sinister looking figure wielding a pistol. The figure is a humanoid reptilian with beady green eyes, a gray jumpsuit, and a stoic grin on its face) This was the darkest installment as they killed off one of the longest living members of the original cast for the series. It's crazy how it went from a campy franchise into an incredibly dark film. I honestly hope we don't have to undergo
