- Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice speaks on Sunday, May 12, 2024, after his team beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in Game 4 of the second-round of the playoffs.
Bennett talked about Brad Marchand, his power-play goal which was challenged and the Panthers win.
Florida has a 3-1 series lead and can eliminate the Bruins in Game 5 on Tuesday in Sunrise at 7 (ESPN).

Florida trailed 2-0 after the first period before Anton Lundell scored late in the second.
Sam Bennett scored on the power play that Boston challenged for goalie interference; Aleksander Sasha Barkov won it later in the third.
Sergei Bobrovsky ended with 16 saves as Florida outshot the Bruins 42-18.

I'm a long time Columbus Bluejackets fan, so I started watching Panthers for Bob & Stenlund, and I've stuck around for Tuchuck & essentially everyone else! Now, this cannot go unsaid, Paul Maurice is a goddamn treasure and I don't think he gets the credit he deserves! If I could clone him and put a CBJ jersey on him I would! He seems like a real human being. I've seen him be frustrated with the media before and it's easy to see that he's close to losing it, but somehow he manages to compose himself. I love this guy and I'm glad he handled this interview this way.
We loved him in Winnipeg. Cool, calm, intelligent. A cup ring would be nice for him.

These media sessions after the game...they are many times beautiful stand up comedy with lessons of life and still lots of deep knowing of the hockey..and the journalists also gotta be smart enough in there. That's the thing though, he wasn't disrespectful at all. He even tried to make little jokes to lighten the mood of the media. He even says it's ok to disagree and he followed up by admitting that he is biased.

After watching the reverse camera angle of the Bennett punch on Marchand's head Bennett should be suspended otherwise whatever Boston does to Bennett is all good.
As Bennett has said, HE didn't do whatever happened on purpose, he was bracing for hit and he didn't have time to think to punch him in the face, the height difference had alot to do with what happened. Coyle didn't land on Swayman until puck was in the net and no way was he going to stop it. Paul Maurice's Hockey Mind is unparalleled, the way he see the nuances of what is happening the writers will never understand.
And the Oscar for Best Actor goes to . . . Charlie Coyle.
