- I look at the Leica / Minolta 40mm F/2 M Rokkor lens for the real world use of portraits. Mikie is the model for this episode and it was her first time doing a professional photoshoot. This all takes place in Tokyo, Japan! I fly to Japan to purchase this lens and use it on a photoshoot :)

Great stuff, very informative and useful in a practical way.
Also i like the human interaction which wasn't forced just seemed very natural.
Thanks for the comment!
Milki has such a natural beauty, like all your models...
Thank you!
Rokkor built many lenses for Leica with Rokkor glass . Rokkor by the way is a Minolta lens name . Superb lenses .
Great review
Was your EXIF data messed up or was it reporting the correct apertures of those images? I know it thought it was the wrong lens but just wondering about the other values.
Remember there is no electrical contact with a Leica Lens and a Leica M body, only the 6bit coding that can tell the camera what lens it is, so aperture will not be reported correctly, since the camera is just guessing that value.
@@GuamPhotography Ah, right. Thanks haha
If I remember right this 1st version of the 40mm Rokkor, though it's branded "Minolta," was made by Leitz in Germany. The later multicoated version was made by Minolta (after Leitz dropped the CL camera and thus the C lenses).
Yes your right :)
Is this a multicoated version?
If I remember correctly, no it is not.
How can you tell the difference?
@@cjewe1z Early version were not multicoated and flare more. That’s what I was after and was able to find one.
@@MrMilanina, it's it possible to tell the difference before buying one?
@@cjewe1z Single coated has a serial on the front. Multicoated has it on the lens’ barrel. That’s at least what the urban legend says.
This is hard to watch. Sorry.
Wow you got great deal.
Yes I did!!
As far as I know Leica M 240 doesn't have 40 mm framelines. What framelines are shown with this lens? What's your experience? Is it difficult to learn? I'm thinking on buying Voigtlander 40mm for my M262.
From memory I believe the 50mm frame lines come up, but there is a way, where you can file down a flange and get the 35mm frame lines to come up, for the M9 you can adjust the lever to show the 35mm and 50mm framelines. I could be wrong though.
Is that threat real from North Korea? I hope not! Get on a plane asap dude.
Allen Camera Fan lol!! Yeah I'm sure it's real, North Korea has been making threats against Guam for awhile, but I'm sure if a missile were to come here it'll be brought down before it reaches here, our AirForce base here is pretty strong :)
