Also worth noting that the nightwave in effect right now also has a sobek aug in it that is pretty crazy. Every shot landed provides a 15% increase to status chance and multishot on the next reload up to 15 stacks. that's a 225% increase if you're not spamming. Something to mess around with when the time comes.

I built fully into status and Savvy, Magnetic progenitor, mod for viral rad heat mag, tons of status going out, and tons of shots, pretty fun so far, and hopefully the magnetic reword next patch will give it a good boost!

My Kuva Sobek is a thing of beauty, but I also had to valence fuse and got nearly the 60% mark. It's a great gun, and can't wait till riven dispo evens out for it. I have a +cold/Multishot/damage riven for it, so mine is with Primary Frostbite to keep stacking those multishot buffs

Wishthe Riven Disposition was the same, got a riven for the regular version:
+ 192% Damage
+ 146% MultiShot
+122% Fire Rate
- 96% Ammo Cap
Empties its magazine (and the room you are standing in!) in under 2 seconds.

@@knicklichtjedi Not sure about that (probably not, since it procs off enemy death, not projectiles), but Toxic Lash and Xatah's Whisper are unique in that they add a multishot instance with the attached damage type. And for some reason Toxic Lash and Xatah's Whisper stack multiplicatively. The overall damage per shot is still lower than going with Roar (without faction mods at least), but the amount of status procs you get is absolutely insane. Iirc on my Kuva Hek (at ~10%/pellet) I'd end up getting 20+ procs in a single shot. Without having to use the alt-fire for that.
Again, the power of Xatah's + Toxic Lash is that they stack multiplicatively.
Edit: Tested it, and it does procc off of enemy deaths. Which is insane, because it spreads a 1.25xStr multiplier to all your damage across the whole room. Way easier to nuke enemies with this, than Saryn's 4th ability...

The new augments for both weapons in nightwave seem interesting too but will take a few weeks to properly check them out. The Glaxion mod in particular I think is going to define cold damage weapons post jade shadows update which overhauls elemental damage including the augment the weapon gets in nightwave.

in saryns case (or others that can abuse the acid shells, garuda, caliban, et al) it's on paper 99% just a sobek, since acid shells carries its damage so hard, but that 1% is made up of initial kill speed and better performance vs acolytes so that "on paper" buff is still pretty nice in practise. Still gonna swap to a outburst charged sporelacer or something to deal with said acolytes but nice to know for when you dont wanna use ceramic dagger for outburst i guess.
if i had a big multishot/toxin riven I'd be tempted to still use regular sobek in saryns case for the dispo, otherwise happy enough with it, its a sobek that's crit viable, yey

BTW: noted that you metioned impact and the slow reload of Sobek. What you didn't mention though is that impact gives a huge boost to mercy kills, the magazine has a great capacity for a shotgun and there's a parazon mod that will instantly reload/refill your weapon with a mercy kill. HAVE FUN

Okay. I made a joke in another Kuva Sobek vid yesterday about Valence Formation Lavos loving this thanks to his augment double dipping on pre-existing elements. Hearing everything that Saryn brings to this weapon makes me see that Lavos may not be AS good with it as her. But would Lavos still be an excellent choice for this gun?

shotguns are monstrous now pretty much with the Strun Prime being one of the strongest now with the incarnon variant and for non-incarnon based things Corinth is a beast but there's plenty of options now

I'm personally not using this with Saryn. Magnetic progenitor, modded for Viral + Heat, and Acid Shells. Sure, not the strongest setup, but it kills anything I put in front of it without me needing to change a single mod.

I love Sobek Shells sooo much!
One of my favorite loadouts in the entire game! Important note if you want to work on it further: Toxin damage green shards apply to the Toxic Slash damage which means better chaining!

Personally, i really liked the faster reload, even if its only a change to 2.1. just wish it didnt take the whole afternoon for me to get mine. Lich simply refused to spawn for two whole tiers

Btw new nightwave. On what level You end up at last? I personaly got 104! aka 74 on creds plus basic 30. I did miss some dailies in some weeks but got all weekly~ And i forgot to leave for myself at least one cred as a keepsake. BIG SAD ;-;

when I pick this weapon up, I'm gonna check out it's interactions with Lavos. He does a 200% status effect buff with Valence Formation, which is much higher than the 82% I've seen on the Toxic Lash Saryn in this video. (There may be a difference to the 2 numbers above both these HUD elements, however, so correct me if i'm wrong) Then the room clearing potential would be even higher with this, correct?

The reason saryn has room clearing potential is that her 3rd ability applies a guaranteed poison proc on shots which happens to carry over to acid shells. Lavos will not receive such a benefit as normally acid shells is unaffected by such things.

Is Acid Shells even worth it? I've seen a few testing videos showing that it only does damage based on the BASE health of the enemy not the health after Steel Path buffs, armor etc. Is it a situation where it only really shines on Saryn?

Toxic Lash also has a unique interaction in that it creates guaranteed toxin procs, including from the explosion of Acid Shells. So with her ability to full strip armor the damage is actually pretty overwhelming for enemies. Believe Xata Whisper will also function in a similar case (it would before the recent changes so not sure now) if you wanna create even more dmg instances.

Unfortunately it's objectively worse for an Acid Shells build.
Acid Shells itself only scales off of faction damage.
The DOTs that Saryn creates only scale off of toxin mods. Unfortunately, having a toxin progenitor doesn't increase Toxic Lash's damage the way adding a toxin damage mod does, the toxin bonus counts as your base damage and is ignored by the ability (and obviously, more base damage is also irrelevant to the damage of the Acid Shells itself).
So all changing from the Sobek to the Kuva Sobek does in terms of your Acid Shells' damage, is decrease the disposition of a Toxin/Faction damage riven. Huge shame they didn't let it keep the base variants' dispo.
Sure, it'll deal more up direct damage with the gun itself, and kill the initial target "easier", but Saryn should already be having no trouble one shotting even a level cap enemy with a regular Sobek, after stripping them with spores and buffing yourself with Toxic Lash/Roar.
