HEY EVERYONE! We hope you’re having an amazing day and staying safe during this pandemic 🙏🏼 we are a lesbian couple in our twenties who vlog if anyone wants to check out our videos 🏳️🌈😊
“Parents or guardians or caretakers” thank you for being so inclusive. My aunt took us in year after year when my mother couldn’t and she used to deliver newspapers every single day with no day off and she would clean the movie theatre at night because she was taking care of 5 kids that weren’t even hers and I’ll always be thankful for everything she did for us
My mom told me a story (while in tears) once about how she would cry at night because we had to walk to the grocery store (we only had one car and my dad needed it to get to work) and she would struggle to keep us warm in the winter and how it broke her heart that she couldn’t keep her kids hands warm. I never realized how hard it was for her when we were growing up and all I could do was insist that we had a great childhood and we don’t remember any of the struggle. We were so loved and cared for that all we remember was the fun we had.

Her dad is incredible He’s also just doing his duties as a good parent, doing anything he can to provide for his family and make sure his kids were happy! Be like Tim!!
My father was a gambling addict and would blow any money he could at the casino. When I was 3, the last Christmas before my mum bravely left him and became a single parent, we were living interstate from our extended family. It was before the days of online shopping and anytime my mum’s family tried sending money my dad would get his hands on it. I can distinctly remember my mum telling my sister and I that Santa wouldn’t be coming that year because parents had to pay Santa and she couldn’t afford it. Later though, she told us that Papa (her father) had paid Santa so he would be coming after all; as an adult I found out that my grandfather had wired money directly to a department store. He also bought us one of those Santa statues that holds a light up candle and moves so that we would always have something to remember him by; it would be another 22 Christmases before he would be gone, but I’ll always cherish that Santa and what it represents.
There was a year where my mom had lost her job a month before Christmas after separating with my dad. My mom was so stressed since she was living off of unemployment while being a single mother to 2 kids. Little did we know that a bunch of local businesses and churches had chipped in to buy our family presents, and my mom cried from all of the kindness that people did for us. It was probably the best Christmas we had ever had ❤️ I love my mom, and don’t give her enough credit
The same thing kinda happened to me and my family me my sister and my parents were moving back from Texas to ny it was almost Christmas and my dad used all there money just to drive back and we didn't expect a Christmas at all because it was obvious that we used it all to drive back and so locals and other family bought us all Christmas presents and it was just the kindest thing ever ❣️
I'd like to hear how your journey has evolved over time to not being as religious now compared to when you were raised. Are your parents accepting of the way you have evolved and that you're not raising Flynn to be as strictly religious as you were?
i obviously am not speaking from personal experience but i think they accept her and love her regardless but they don’t necessarily hold the same beliefs as her and i know her mom won’t come around when she talks to psychics or goes ghost hunting, etc. bc she thinks it’s witch craft and has to do with the devil but still accepts that it’s something colleen wants to do.

My holidays growing up were never great. It was a source of stress for my single mom, and it would deteriorate until everyone was miserable every year. Now I associate the holidays with the stress that everyone was always under and I just don't celebrate now that I have the choice not to. But my fiancé has an amazing talent. Without any effort from me, or even any prior planning, he always manages to make the holidays just happen. No stress, no fuss, they just appear. My dad built a house. Literally, he and his friend who is a contractor built a house on his days off. They built a house, it was a bad market, and he gave me the little bit of money he made from the sale so I could go to Europe with a group in high school 😭
My mom raised us three kids on her own & sometimes she just needed extra help. We never usually had a tree or a lot of gifts. One Christmas, with help from our church, we had a Christmas miracle. When we woke up that morning, there was a tree all lit up, a toy train, & gifts for us. It was truly magical.

Colleen, whoever embedded in your mind that emotions aren’t okay or are gross, they are wrong and I’m sorry that happened to you. Crying is good! That was a happy memory and your dad is awesome for that! Nobody who has a good head on their shoulders are going to judge you for crying. We all love you so much!
i have the same experience in high school and college theatre. EVERYONE has to wear a full face of stage makeup. always Ben Nye!!!!! But more diverse colors and we never got a kit!
Right?! I’m like damn she got a kit?! We had to either buy our own or use the leftover makeup from past shows that was still in the wardrobe room 😂 thinking about all those germs now makes me gag
Girl, that is not what mold looks like. The presence of mold would mean that the fruit has deteriorated since the purpose of mold is to break down organic material. We would've seen squishy/deflated grapes if that was mold. They also would have been releasing liquid! It looks like mold, but probably isn't.
This story reminds me of a question that I've had for a while: Colleen, what did your Dad do for his main job? Like, did he have a career or just different jobs? Did he have an education towards a certain type of job? I've just wondered about that for a while now because you've mentioned multiple times that your family was poor, so I just wonder what your Dad does or did as a job? I love the vlogs! Thanks for all you do to entertain us and share your life with us!
Ik he worked for some sort of company got to do with travel because she said that her dad would use all his holiday points to travel for vacation and stay in hotels since they couldn’t afford to go and stay in a hotel somewhere for a full week or whatever
What’s shocking to me is that Broadway doesn’t have makeup artists. Or that they don’t talk about makeup before doing the show. Everyone just kinda does whatever they want??
Yeah I mean there are makeup artists that teach you how to do the makeup for your character and then you do it yourself the rest of the time. But you technically get told how to do the makeup. They don't let you blindly figure it out.
It would just be too expensive to have makeup artists backstage, so actors just do their own! Shows that have complex makeup (Lion King, Phantom, Wicked, Beetlejuice...) have makeup artists backstage but that is already very expensive, having them would just be too much for many shows!
You could ask Kory to put the story time suggestions on a poster board with each one under a post-it note. Then you could choose one at random for each vlog. A DIY advent to spice up our collective quarantine!❤️
My dad lost his job in March and started working as a uber driver full time because he couldn't find a new job. I wanted to make some extra money to help so when he won an iPad for me for Christmas I started a redbubble shop. I am saving up money to surprise him with a trip to Iceland (his dream trip) to show him how much I am grateful for him. ❤️ thank you for reminding so many people about amazing farthers who work so hard for their children.
My dad passed away 7 days before Christmas, when I was 14. This year will be 21 years ago. This makes me miss mine too! Sending you sympathy and love during this holiday season!
I heard from a West End actress recently on Insta that the reason that people don’t wear makeup on some professional stages anymore is because of advancements in technology as in lighting. But obviously only the super professional stages have that like Broadway and the West End. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s what she said. It was Carrie Hope Fletcher by the way.
Tell me why you had me calling my mom sobbing on the phone being so extremely grateful for her and my father ( who has now passed) making it even more emotional for me. I needed to hear this though!!!
I never new this but for my birthday I got gift cards that I never used for Amazon. On Christmas, the gift cards I did not use, my mom used it to get me presents. I never new about this but I was so worth it because I never new and never noticed that it was gone. Now I know that we were struggling with money but I did not care because I was always so surprised and I’m so thankful for my mom.
My dad always said he wasn't very fortunate growing up so he has always worked his butt off to make sure that we(me and my sister) didn't live the way he did. It's the small stuff like a new backpack every year for school or the occasional $20 to go spend on something nice and it makes me so happy because he no joke works 50-60 hour weeks with only one day off during the week and whenever he's not working he is always driving us somewhere or taking us out to do fun things and it just makes me so happy that I can live such an enriched and fortunate life and I have learned to never take anything for granted and I am so grateful for everything he does for us.
I lost both my parents before I turned 16 and then lost my step dad a few years ago. I love that you’re encouraging others to thank and share love with their parents and that you hold that story so close to your heart. I join you in urging others to do that too! Your dad (and mom!) is a saint, just like my parents were. 🤍🤍🤍
I moved back home at the beginning of this year and my grandparents offered me to stay with them until I get back on my feet. Due to the political climate it then became super rough for both of them and not once did they complain about me not contributing. I wish I could do more BEING that it was even more rough for me to get it together! I hope I can do more soon for them soon (and my parents as well.) They really gifted me this year by giving me a place to stay. Finding myself has allowed me to improve my mental health. Sometimes I feel so ungrateful of my situation because I know I can be so much greater but I know good things take time and my time will soon come. Looking at the bigger picture, my situation it really isn't that bad. When your stuck in your head and can't think beyond the moments that make you feel incapable or sad, its a really tough place to get out of. But my Grandparents allowed me just that and I found my way out of it. Learning to be humble and finding my place is the world was the best gift they could have given me. 2020 has truly changed my life. I am very grateful for them. Thank you for this reminder.
This is me right now, Colleen. Being a single mom of 4 kids, I thankfully have my parents to help watch the kids and I will work my regular job and work a second job right now bc I want my kids to have an amazing Christmas. I’m literally crying bc I just got an amazing gift from some relatives that’ll help me slow down so I can have some time with my kids during these holidays. My dad raised me on his own so I got his work ethic. I do dedicate one day a week that I don’t work and strictly spend special time with my kids. I do this every season so my kids will have an amazing Christmas bc that’s what my grandparents did for me.
The window painting story made me bawwwwwl 😭😭😭😭 right in the feels... so heart warming at the same time though. A parents love is beyond measure, but it does go both ways. I'd do anything for my parents and they'd do anything for me. 💞💞💞
Anyone else remember Colleen's GHOST STORY about her dorm mate laying in bed with her hair hanging over the edge of a bunk bed? To someone who doesn't know that story, that sounds weird. 😅 But those that know, know. Haha
You are such an angel Colleen, I honestly couldn’t relate more! My dad is fucking awesome and it chokes me up every time whenever I think about all the things he’s done for me even from the smallest tasks like picking me up from work or taking me to school
Hi Colleen...this video was very touching and beautiful. My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago and it has honestly been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through. The thought of losing him is simply unbearable and I know he doesn’t have much time left but I will never be prepared for that. By the way you talk about your dad I can tell you truly love him just as much as I love mine. I think it’s amazing that you are so appreciative of him. Always remind him of how much you love him and cherish every minute you spend with him! ❤️
After school each Wednesday I work for a few hours at my local shop, but I tell my family I’m studying just so on Christmas I can see their faces light up.
Yes!! We absolutely used that in high school theatre. I helped with makeup, costumes, and set in Bye Bye Birdie and that's the exact makeup set that we used!! Flashbacks!!
I used to go out with my dad in the evenings and deliver food: Chinese and Indian food after his full day of work and I loved that time so much, I would go with him to the doors and we would get tips and he always let me keep some, but I imagine he hated doing it and cherishes the memories at the same time. Dads are amazing x
Your story about your dad makes me love your family even more! A sacrifice my dad made this year I will always be grateful for is around his birthday he won quite a bit of money in the lotto and mum and dad wanted to put it towards paying off their debt, but instead they put it towards buying me my own euphonium because I'm going to uni for classical euphonium performance next year. My parents are the most selfless people and have always done their best to ensure us kids always have what we need and I'm so grateful for them.
I never thought of it like that i am ten though but my dad he drives trucks day and night to San Antonio for more money than a regular job so i dont get to see him a lot but the times i do me my dad and brother go camping in the back of my dads truck
My mom used to sleep on the couch in the living room so that me and my baby brother could have our own rooms. She went through so much more for us. She is a hero.
You’re paying him back, Colleen. You’re a very good daughter.

💜🙏🏻
Colleen, whoever embedded in your mind that emotions aren’t okay or are gross, they are wrong and I’m sorry that happened to you. Crying is good! That was a happy memory and your dad is awesome for that! Nobody who has a good head on their shoulders are going to judge you for crying. We all love you so much!

colleen talking about her dad in the beginning had me sobbing about mine, i lost him two years ago. cherish every moment you can with your loved ones!
i have the same experience in high school and college theatre.
Don’t ever apologize for getting emotional. It’s human, it’s endearing. ♥️
EXACTLYYY!!!
The “spider Webb’s” on the grapes are the beginning of mold 😂 they start growing fur when they start going out of date x
Rather have the spiders to be honest lol
Woahhhh really????
They said there was an egg sack though. Although, I have seen that spider-webby mold stuff grow on cookies and it’s disgusting 🤢
I graduated high school in 2018 and we used Ben Nye makeup in every single production!!!!
He was an animator!!! I forget where
@@sophiejones4632 Not an animator, but he did have his own newspaper with his comics in it.
on Wikipedia it says sales manager!
Ik he worked for some sort of company got to do with travel because she said that her dad would use all his holiday points to travel for vacation and stay in hotels since they couldn’t afford to go and stay in a hotel somewhere for a full week or whatever
@@RachelJanineHarris Oh yeah, I remember that she mentioned that recently!
I swear colleen is such a good mother and her relationship with flynn is soooooo cute

You could ask Kory to put the story time suggestions on a poster board with each one under a post-it note. Then you could choose one at random for each vlog. A DIY advent to spice up our collective quarantine!❤️
katherine7444 Then she couldn’t surprise herself. If she knew what was under each note it wouldn’t be random or like an advent calendar.
“Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate!” I love hearing that line every day! It makes me so happy!!!

Damn that story in the beginning had me in tears too. Dads are so special wow
I hope you're able to give him the trip!! wish you the best

As soon as a read “West End actress” I thought CARRIE?!🥰
“It’s literally cheese”
It’s on a board Colleen... Sooooo

After hearing that, I feel so blessed that I’m spending Christmas with my family, with presents under the tree.

This made me appreciate my parents a little bit more because they did the same for me and my siblings.
We used that EXACT Ben Nye kit when I did high school theatre and I swear to god that stuff is literally radioactive waste 😂😂😂
IKR it is literally play doh!
