Gotta say that the underarm throw is thrown straight up as a U ball by Mills. I don't think this is the most beautiful way to do it. That underarm should come down in the middle

DUUUDE, I think this is better than most other tutorials!
I remember when I bought all my first real juggling gear and bought from Dubé! Was so happy with the equipment. 7 rings, 5 clubs and 7 white silicone balls. I eventually could do 5 rings, 5 clubs and bounce 5 and 7 balls!
A few years later, I moved to NYC (1989) and found out exactly where the small shop was and came in for a visit and a purchase! It’s been years since I moved away (1997), but seeing this part of the store instantly brought me back to that great moment in time for me!
Looked at so many different tutorials, but I just couldn't get Mills Mess into my head.
But with Steve's explanation, it just makes sense.
The first success after 30 minutes and a smile crosses my face. THANK YOU Steve.
That is exactly the same issue I had. Everyone else makes the explanation way too complicated. Steve explained it so simple that I'm already closer to getting it than I've ever been.
This is awesome! Actually, I finally taught myself Mills' Mess just a couple weeks ago using this exact same method. Now I find out that Steve Mills himself has already made a tutorial! If only I had found this earlier, I might have saved myself months of confusion!
Really helps having one ball a different colour when it comes to learning visually.!

Like the 'No Mills Mess' sign at the back! I'm not a juggler, so I have to ask, is it really the 'Stairway to Heaven' of juggling - that well-known trick that everyone does to obnoxiously show off that they know everything?

Umm I don’t really think it’s obnoxious. Beginners always shoot for it because it’s pretty hard to get a good concept on when first seen. And when doing shows the average person is still amazed.
Only obnoxious when people use it to intentionally show off. Otherwise, it's a very nice trick....very skillful...and good to learn.
for some reason ive always had a hard time conceptualizing this and overthought it, but man outside underarms with reversed cascade on the inside. it makes so much sense.
Steve Mills was the Rodney Mullen of juggling.

The trick is : Steve Mills has 3 arms
I've always wondered how he came up with such a crazy pattern, but it all makes sense now.
All of the boneheads on UA-cam trying to teach Mills Mess confusing as can be with A-B-C, 1-2-3, and all kinds of symbols and patterns that I didn't really understand the trick. I am juggling 5 and 6 balls now yet Mills Mess confused me (in the short time that I looked at it years ago). Watched this video and picked it right up, thank you!

@BaconJuggling The intro (with Kyle in the orange shirt) is done with stage balls. The tutorial is with silicone balls. The green silicone ball is very vibrant/fluorescent.

Jugglers need gravity . Its a friend and foe at same time .
Hmmm. But aren't the 3 balls supposed to be following the exact same trajectory? (That's what I get from other tutorials.) The reverse-cascade-with-under-arm-throws doesn't seem to do that because one ball is U-ing and the others aren't. Or is it all how you do it?
