    Hello Ben
The 2 metre band has been narrow FM for 20 or more years now.
This is because there isn't that much room on 2.
70 Centimetres is a wider bans ( 10 MHz wide ) so there fore wide FM can be used.
When doing these tests make sure you are both using either wide or narrow FM
Try the FM test again using the same mode and see what you get.
If you are still getting the same result then there is something wrong.
Nice video all the best Wes.

Ben - Very well done video. I've been hoping there would be more videos pop up about this little radio. I've had one of these ordered for myself and it just arrived this past week. I'm hoping for lots of possibilities for this radio especially for portable operations. If you use a USB keyboard plugged into the back of the radio the entry of your call sign will work very well. Keep the videos on this radio coming. I'll be waiting for them. Thanks! Gerald - KG0VA P.S. I see you have couple more videos already.

Thanks Gerald. Glad you found it useful. I'll certainly try and upload more when I have time. I did wonder about the keyboard, I've tried it for CW but didn't try it for the callsign (I may even do a short video on it) Enjoy the radio, 73 for now.

By the way, I've been looking at so many videos and links, totally confused by all the name-changes of the radio (probably due to earlier versions being so buggy) that I finally found this video again and went through it and the manual line-by-line, and I've gotten a lot of it working. Seems I have a bad battery though, I can't transmit at all on battery without the radio shutting down. To top it off, I bumped the LCD screen slightly and the plastic cover cracked! I found a guy named Lewis at Revevis who may be able to get me a new covering without buying the working screen as well.
Well, at least I'm having a lot of fun figuring this thing out, but due to the cracked screen I'm sure I can't return it now, as I was considering doing.

Thanks for this video. I was considering buying this radio from Radioodity. Where it is listed as the qr20. That model does not come with the heat sink wrapped around it. I said WAS considering until I watched a video here on UA-cam where the poster did a power measurement on 6m to 80m. The power was all over the place as he switched bands. The worse was 1.5 watts on 6m. I can get more than that with my Baofeng UV-!!!.

Hi, to be honest it really depends what I'm doing with it. If I'm mobile in the car I just use a 2m/70cms Nagoya for VHF & UHF or the Moonraker SPX-100 for HF.
If I'm at home I'm either using the 4 element 2m beam from Moonraker or Diamond V2000 for 2m, 6m & 70cms or 66 foot end fed long wire for HF.
