What a beautiful instrument! I feel that it is a shame that later Baroque composers did not write more for this beautiful instrument!

Shame the cornett has gone the way of dinosaurs so early, its unique timbre mixes so well with voices and strings, I can dare to say losing it has been the most painful loss in the history of instrumentation.

Its the Norwegian Baroque Orchestra, lead by Gottfried von der Goltz, who also leads the famous Freiburger Baroque Orchestra.
