Good video. This FSE is a real pro and knows his stuff.
I'm a Biomed who is looking to switch over to ct/imaging. I appreciate this video
Hello! I have been watching your videos for a while now and I’m loving it! Fantastic job! When is the next video?
wow, cool thanks for the upload!
This is awesome! Keep up the good work. I might as well just subscribe! 😎
Thank you!
Remember! The best way to test for live voltage is to lick the wire!
700 Volts on that cable? More like 70 kiloVolts or more!
One day someone gonna be transported into the future in one of these things.
Thank u so much this was such a cool video! Now I can finally replace the ct tube in the scanner I have in my bedroom. Thanks a lot 😂.
Btw why does the tube get so hot and how does it not melt down?
Probably it works the same as your old CRT TV screen TV tube! Probably.
i just started a job installing these bad boys i kid you not this feels like rocket science
Hey where at? I've been working on CT for a decade now
Hooray! Now I can fix my RTX 5090 Lightspeed spin CT too! Finnally can get my brain checked out
Could you record the sound of the resonance in the door in the following videos? please?
Is the gantry connected with belt or gear with the motor ?
Such an amazing piece of equipment.
What is the service life on the X-ray tube? And what happens with the old one? Do they get rebuilt and reconditioned?
CT tubes undergo some intense forces and use cases. They typically only last 1-4 years depending on the tube and the total amount of use. Old tubes typically are shipped back to the manufacturer where they'll use some of the parts for rebuilding tubes.
@@1pMusicyou don't happen to know of any companies? Actually our company is interested to get into tube and tank repair. Nashville area is usually where we go to but the demand is high for southern states
How does he balance the wheel after replacing the part?
That’s the same scanner I went on!
why did the tube need to be replaced? what's the telemetry yard stick to indicate decay in the power or other parameters that would signal credible replacement event? more details please...
What happened to the old part they get sent back for remanufacturing. Will it go back into another medical piece of equipment
Yes!!!!!!
More mri sounds please
how to change the oil in the x-ray tube
Wanted cornet really wants to talk to you if there's a. Larry on this channel
So thats why GE Ct's have noise Fans? For Cooling the Xray Tube?
That's true. The fans can get a little loud when it gets hot inside the gantry.
@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer fascinating!!
our professor is actually like you, ayoung device engineer. ln fact here in lraq, our country does not become an engineering concern for medical devices, even inprivate sector
the xray tube is nearly 400 pounds and spinning at 120 rpm. I did some math, the xray device is going around 21-23 MPH. imaging that flying out and hitting you at that speed.
it can't hit you while you're inside but it can hit an operator next room 😁
But it has a huge amount of inertia moment. This tube will probably stuck inside or jump out of the machine. So probably it cant smash to your head. :)
Is the helium purged before this?
This is a CT scanner, not MRI so there’s no helium to cool down magnet.
Two questions: 1) What are the maximum amps the 700-volt line shown to us? 2) Is this machine nuclear material free? If the answer is no, where is the material, and what is it?
Ct scanner produces x ray which is an electromagnetic wave form. The electromagnetic waves produced by high voltage electric so it isnt radioactive itself. It only radioactive while its on. You can think like an lightbulb. The lightbulb dont produce light when its off (also light is an electromagnetic wave form). So ct scanners hasnt any nuclear source like uranium, plutonium etc.
😮😮😮😮😮😮
Why did it need replaced?
@@jacecoleman3832 This CT X-ray tube has a lifespan of about 120 million mA seconds. Which is about two years under normal use. This particular tube had an open filament error, essentially it popped like a light bulb filament does
And then calibrate WOW...I hope the tech is making $200/hour!!!
When the patient pov ct vid? 😢
Hi! Thanks for following up. That video has already been filmed. I will definitely let you know once it is ready for release. Have a great day!

What’s the salary for this type of work?
It depends on where one lives, the company for which they work, and their years of experience. As a FSE 20 years ago, my base salary was $50k. But, I also got benefits, a company vehicle, overtime, and annual bonuses. I have a friend who is a highly skilled FSE for CT and MR with many years of experience and with overtime he makes over $150k. He works a lot.
