Thank u so much this was such a cool video! Now I can finally replace the ct tube in the scanner I have in my bedroom. Thanks a lot 😂. Btw why does the tube get so hot and how does it not melt down?
the xray tube is nearly 400 pounds and spinning at 120 rpm. I did some math, the xray device is going around 21-23 MPH. imaging that flying out and hitting you at that speed.
But it has a huge amount of inertia moment. This tube will probably stuck inside or jump out of the machine. So probably it cant smash to your head. :)
Such an amazing piece of equipment. What is the service life on the X-ray tube? And what happens with the old one? Do they get rebuilt and reconditioned?
CT tubes undergo some intense forces and use cases. They typically only last 1-4 years depending on the tube and the total amount of use. Old tubes typically are shipped back to the manufacturer where they'll use some of the parts for rebuilding tubes.

why did the tube need to be replaced? what's the telemetry yard stick to indicate decay in the power or other parameters that would signal credible replacement event? more details please...
Two questions: 1) What are the maximum amps the 700-volt line shown to us? 2) Is this machine nuclear material free? If the answer is no, where is the material, and what is it?
Ct scanner produces x ray which is an electromagnetic wave form. The electromagnetic waves produced by high voltage electric so it isnt radioactive itself. It only radioactive while its on. You can think like an lightbulb. The lightbulb dont produce light when its off (also light is an electromagnetic wave form). So ct scanners hasnt any nuclear source like uranium, plutonium etc.
@@jacecoleman3832 This CT X-ray tube has a lifespan of about 120 million mA seconds. Which is about two years under normal use. This particular tube had an open filament error, essentially it popped like a light bulb filament does
It depends on where one lives, the company for which they work, and their years of experience. As a FSE 20 years ago, my base salary was $50k. But, I also got benefits, a company vehicle, overtime, and annual bonuses. I have a friend who is a highly skilled FSE for CT and MR with many years of experience and with overtime he makes over $150k. He works a lot.

Good video. This FSE is a real pro and knows his stuff.

Probably it works the same as your old CRT TV screen TV tube! Probably.
This is awesome! Keep up the good work. I might as well just subscribe! 😎

So thats why GE Ct's have noise Fans? For Cooling the Xray Tube?
That's true. The fans can get a little loud when it gets hot inside the gantry.

The website address for the full replacement procedure is already defunct and parked with a foreign domain name seller. Disappointing.
